Priyanka Chopra recently joined Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli for SSMB29 workshops, rehearsals and there was also news that the shooting of the film had started with the lead cast in an aluminum factory as Rajamouli wants to do this in secret and that is why no details are coming out. The latest reports suggest that Priyanka Chopra takes a break from SSMB29.

The reason for Priyanka Chopra taking a break from SSMB 29 is to attend her brother Siddarth Chopra’s wedding which is said to be happening in February 3rd week. According to the reports, she left today from Hyderabad and arrived in Mumbai and is likely to join the shooting of SSMB 29 after the marriage. The fans of Mahesh Babu enjoyed a few days of continuous news of the film, and they will have to wait for a while as Priyanka Chopra takes a break from SSMB29.

The shooting of SSMB29 is said to continue without any big breaks as the work related to a big set is happening in RFC (Ramoji Film City), and after that a huge shooting schedule is planned in Africa, and the movie will be shot in a lot of foreign locations. 

Naturally, the first-ever collaboration of Superstar Mahesh Babu and Maveric Filmmaker SS Rajamouli has massive expectations among everyone. The makers have said to be targeting the 2027 Summer release in theatres.

Madha Gaja Raja Telugu: A big disaster

Madha Gaja Raja starring Vishal released after going through a long delay of nearly 12 years this Sankranthi. The film, surprisingly achieved a positive word of mouth and emerged as a huge blockbuster collecting more than 50 crores gross in Tamil Nadu. Pumped up with the success achieved in Tamil, the makers made plans for the film in Telugu and released it here as well. But, the film became a big disaster at the box office here.

In Telugu dubbed version, the film failed to collect even the theatre rents on the opening day. The same momentum continued throughout the weekend disappointing the makers. There is literally no share for the film here shocking all. Vishal enjoys a good following in Telugu States and has also been a notable star with his previous films. But the film failed miserably ending up as a loss venture for the Telugu buyers.

This weekend also had audience choosing Sankranthiki Vasthunam which already became a big blockbuster grossing more than 200 crores worldwide. The film is still continuing the dominance with a strong 3rd weekend performance at the box office. From the matinee shows, the film has registered housefulls across many centres shocking the trade analysts.

Identity is the latest action thriller from Malayalam Cinema. Starring Tovino Thomas, Trisha Krishnan, and Vinay Rai in the lead roles, the film was released four weeks ago in theaters, and it ended up as a failure at the box office. Identity is now streaming on OTT, and let’s check out its review.

Story:

Amar Felix (Arjun Radhakrishnan) works as a cloth store manager, and he secretly records women in his store’s trial rooms and blackmails them for money. An unknown person tracks down Amar and kills him igniting a fire in his warehouse. Alisha Abdul Salam (Trisha), a journalist, witnesses the murder, and she is taken care of by Allen Jacob (Vinay Rai), the investigator on the case, and he takes her to DYSP Dinesh Chandran under the witness protection scheme. During his time there, Allen encounters his neighbor, Haran Shankar (Tovino Thomas), who is a talented sketch artist. Allen uses Haran’s talent along with Alisha’s suggestions to solve the mystery. Does Allen’s Plan work? What do Haran and Alisha have in link with the past of Amar Felix? The answers lie in the remainder of the story.

Performances:

Tovino Thomas does complete justic to his role and tries and provides the required effect. Trisha Krishnan was fine, while Vinay Rai did a good job. Mandira Bedi, Aju Varghese, Archana Kavi, Arjun Radhakrishnan, Krisha Vijayachandran and others were okay.

Analysis:

The film has an intriguing beginning with an exciting introduction of all the lead characters, and some well-placed twists work well for the film. However, the narration soon goes haywire and becomes dull. There is a constant confusion in the proceedings which could have been avoided. A clearer taking without unnecessary drag could have made the film into a truly engaging thriller. There are a few characters and links which are left unfinished by the director duo. The action episode at the climax is also needlessly dragged.

Identity Movie Review and Verdict:

Identity is an underwhelming action/crime thriller that has some good moments, but it gets distracted after a point and never comes back on track. Tovino Thomas and Vinay Rai deliver good performances, but the confusion in the storytelling and unexciting proceedings make it lose the impact.

Chiranjeevi is busy with his Vishwambhara and willjoin Anil Ravipudi’s directorial after 3-4 months. So, the film will go on floors at the end of the year as per the buzz. This film will take time to go on sets with the Director getting committed to a film starring Nani. The Pre-production work for this film will also take time and Chiranjeevi in this meantime would be completing working for these films.

Vishwambhara directed by Vassishta is being produced by UV creations targeting summer with May 9th as release date. Anil Ravipudi’s directorial will be produced by Shine Screens aiming the Sankranthi season next year. So, these three are likely to become the next theatrical releases of Chiranjeevi. This is indeed an exciting line up.
