Thandel Producers bet big

Naga Chaitanya starrer Thandel is gearing up for release on 7th February worldwide. There are high expectations on the film from both fans and audiences. In normal cases, most of the Producers try to play a safe game, selling the film to other parties and placing themselves in a comfortable situation before the release. But here with Thandel, the makers are taking a big risk by releasing the film on their own taking just advances from the Distributors.

Thandel also has a budget of nearly 100 crores, half of which has been recovered from the non-theatricals already. The film also has a good craze and offers from buyers for the rights on an outright basis. But the makers went straight ahead with no deals. They have to bear the risk theatrically. The Telugu version business is currently valued at around 40 crores. So, the film needs to achieve a minimum of 40 crores share from Telugu.

Some contribution also needed from other languages especially in Hindi. In detail, The film has to collect a 100 crore gross worldwide from all languages to remain a safe venture. Going by the confidence being shown by the makers, they believe it could do much more than that mark.

There were reports of the film having the OTT release within 4 weeks of its theatrical release, and they came true. Game Changer Official OTT Release Date is out, and it will be available for streaming from February 7.

Directed by Shankar, the film was made on a massive budget of over ₹400 crore, but the film became a big failure at the box office. Though the film had a decent day 1 at the box office, the film ended its theatrical run without even crossing the 200 Cr gross mark at the worldwide box office. The OTT giant Prime Video took to its official X (Twitter) and shared the information. The Political action drama will be available for streaming in Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada from February 7, 2025. 

Kiara Advani played the female lead, while Anjali appeared in another crucial role. Ram Charan delivered a compelling performance in a dual role, and as said above, his performance as Appanna received considerable praise. The star also expressed gratitude to the media and fans through a personal letter shared on social media.

Prime Video Hints Game Changer Release

Game Changer, the latest political action drama starring Ram Charan and directed by Shankar was released in theaters for this Sankranthi and ended up as a big disaster at the box office. The film is expected to stream this weekend mostly in South languages, and the fans are a bit excited as Prime Video hints at Game Changer’s release.

The fans are demanding that the five-hour footage of the film be released on OTT. Shankar mentioned that because of runtime issues, the unit had to trim many scenes. However, releasing the unseen footage is out of the question as the team seems uninterested in doing anything for the film.

Today, Kollywood Actor Simbu announced his upcoming films, including the first-look poster of his 50th venture, STR50. The Poster revealed the film to be made on a high budget, and Simbu will also act as the producer under his new banner, Atman Cine Arts.

This film initially had Kamal Haasan as the Producer, but he later dropped out due to budget issues. So, Simbu came on board as the Producer officially for the film to handle the budget amount. It is also learned that almost a total of 150 crores will be spent on the making.

Simbu also talked about STR50, stating that they were not making a Baahubali but something that would make Tamil Cinema proud. He also said that no technician demanded remuneration till now. He also said that they didn’t want to compromise on the quality and scale of the film even with the downfall of Satellite and OTT.

The Actor also added that he took the production on himself to lower the risk for the Producers and also expressed his happiness in launching his first production film. He also quoted that they, as a team, didn’t think about the result of the film, and for being in the film industry for years, he wanted to do give it back.
