What’s Troubling Trivikram? Inside the Dilemma

Ace Telugu director Trivikram Srinivas, known for his strong brand value and loyal fanbase, currently finds himself in a tricky situation regarding his next project. Originally, Trivikram had invested nearly a year working on the script for a massive mythological pan-Indian project with Allu Arjun. This film was expected to go on floors around this time.

However, with Allu Arjun reportedly prioritizing his film with director Atlee, things have taken a different turn. Although there are talks of Allu Arjun managing both projects simultaneously, the challenge lies in juggling two films of completely different genres. Even then, Trivikram might have to wait at least eight more months, possibly longer, before he can start his ambitious venture.

Amidst this delay, rumors are circulating that Trivikram is contemplating a different film in the interim. While this could keep him occupied, it also carries a significant risk. Following the mixed response to ‘Guntur Karam’, another underwhelming project could impact his pan-Indian dream collaboration with Allu Arjun. Now, all eyes are on Trivikram as he weighs the pros and cons of waiting versus taking up another film. Either way, the decision is bound to be a crucial one for his career.

Empuraan’s Disappointing Finish at Indian Box Office

Mohanlal’s Empuraan, the biggest project from Mollywood, which created records from pre-release business, advance bookings, and box office records and achieved the first 250 Cr grosser for Mollywood, also emerged as an industry hit. However, Empuraan’s disappointing finish at the Indian box office shocked everyone.

While looking at the box office performance of the film, all the milestones and record numbers were achieved in the 1st week. From the 2nd week, the film completely crashed at the box office. The film had a huge first weekend overseas, and even though it fell on the 2nd weekend, the 1st week numbers were massive and broke the previous industry hit with a double margin. 

Mohanlal’s Empuraan Box Office: Huge Overseas but Okayish in India

But in India, after the 1st weekend, the film did not see big numbers. Everyone expected it would be the 1st 100 Cr grosser for Kerala, and even they thought it would open the 150 Cr club and many more milestones, but L2 Empuraan did not match the expectations.

As of now, the film has not become the number one grosser yet. It has collected around 85 Cr gross, and reaching the No. 1 position [90 Cr] itself looks like an impossible task. The mixed WOM impacted it from the 2nd week, and that is why Mohanlal’s Empuraan’s disappointing finish at the Indian box office shocked everyone.

In other languages like Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, the film completely failed and ended up with a disastrous result. The mixed WOM highly impacted these areas from the opening day itself.

Overall, Empuraan is a box office success, collecting 260 Cr+ gross worldwide, but while comparing it to overseas and looking at the movie’s scale and budget, it can be said that the film gathered just okay range numbers in India, and it did not create records in any territory or language.

LCU prequel short film set to roll

Kollywood Director Lokesh Kanagaraj created the film Universe, popularized by fans and audiences as LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) with his Vikram. He also included his films, Kaithi and Leo in it. He gave a pause to the expansion of the universe and concentrated on Coolie starring Rajinikanth.

The shoot of Coolie is also said to be wrapped up and currently, the post-production works are underway. Lokesh Kanagaraj is now prepared to take up Kaithi 2 starring Karthi which has also been announced recently. But before that, it is learned that the Director would be shooting a short film to describe the origin of LCU in detail.

This was already announced last year and this short film is set to go to the sets before Kaithi 2’s shoot. Netflix has reportedly bought the rights of this short film as per sources.

Meanwhile, Coolie has been announced to release on 14th August worldwide. Kaithi 2 is expected to go on sets at the end of this year or in early 2026. So, it can be understood that Lokesh Kanagaraj will make the short film in this gap.

Devara starring NTR was one of the blockbuster hits last year. The film grossed more than 400 crores worldwide also becoming NTR’s highest grosser. NTR is currently busy with the commitments of War 2 and NTRNeel. So, Devara 2 normally took a delay in the work prospects. As NTR is about to complete the shoot of War 2 and also joining the NTRNeel’s film this month, Devara 2’s work is set to commence. It is learned that the first narration of the film has already been completed. NTR too confirmed recently about the possibility of Devara 2.

Tollywood Actor Nani is gearing up for his upcoming release, Hit 3. The film directed by Sailesh Kolanu is the third part of the HIT franchise. The film is riding high with the hype because of the violence quotient and now the Trailer’s views took it to the next level.

Hit 3 Trailer was released yesterday. The Trailer has garnered more than 20 Million Views on YouTube in just 24 hours. This is an All-Time record for a Non-star Hero. This also shows how the film has built a massive hype around it. Nani plays the role of Arjun Sarkaar, a fierce cop in the film.

The violence quotient also looks heavy and the team has also promised that this would surely impress the audience. Hit 3 is slated for release on 1st May worldwide. Produced by Nani under his Wall Poster Cinema, Hit 3 also stars Srinidhi Shetty in the female lead role.

Legendary Music Director, Ilaiyaraaja has reportedly issued a notice to the Producers of Good Bad Ugly to provide a compensation of 5 crores. The film is said to have contained 3 of his songs which he alleges were used without his permission. He also mentioned that the team should seek an apology for this action within 7 days.

It is learned that the team of Good Bad Ugly has got the NOC from the Music Label for using all the 3 songs. This is surely a shocking move from Ilaiyaraaja. He also did the same during the release of Manjummel Boys which used one of his songs. The Producers then also paid the compensation.

It has to be seen how the team of Good Bad Ugly proceeds. The film has been rocking the box office since the opening day and has also grossed more than 170 crores worldwide. Now, Ilaiyaraaja’s action will surely be a shocker for the team.

Hit 3 starring Nani is gearing up for release on May 1st worldwide. The film’s Trailer was also released yesterday and the team participated in a Q/A session. Nani made interesting comments about Hit 3 during this session which raised eyebrows. This video is also going viral now on social media platforms.

One of the journalists asked Nani if his judgment skill would be successful for Hit 3 which worked for his production venture, Court. Nani then said that Hit 3 was a racy and violent thriller and expressed confidence that it would satisfy those who like this genre. He also gave a call to stop believing in his judgement skill if Hit 3 doesn’t work well at the box office.

These comments surprised many netizens who pointed out that Nani was not confident about Hit 3. It may be recalled that the Actor during the pre-release event of Court, requested the audience to avoid his upcoming film i.e., Hit 3 if Court doesn’t impress them.
