Farzi Gears Up for Next Chapter

Farzi, the star-studded web series, is one of the most-watched Hindi web series on Amazon Prime Video in 2023, with 37.1 million views. Filmmakers Raj Nidhimoru and Krishna DK, aka Raj & DK, have made this series, and the latest news is that Farzi gears up for the next chapter.

It is widely known that Raj & DK are also behind the hit series The Family Man and Guns & Gulaabs (Netflix). A new report from the Bollywood media suggests filming of Farzi Season 2 will start in late 2025. The fans will be excited as Farzi gears up for the next chapter.

Farzi Season 2 starts in 2025, Second Half

Reportedly, the duo of Raj and DK are presently busy with Rakht Brahmand, their next series on Netflix, starring Samantha. Once they wrap Rakht Brahman, they will proceed to the pre-production of Farzi 2 and take it on the floors by December. Raj and DK have conducted a meeting with Shahid Kapoor recently. The Farzi sequel will see a face-off between Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi, and Kay Kay Menon.

There is a big anticipation for this sequel, and the fans/likers will be happy as it is finally said to be arriving. Farzi Season 2 is expected to arrive on Prime Video at the end of 2026, and meanwhile, The Family Man 3 from the same directors/writers will arrive in 2025.

Farzi Cast and Plot Details

The rest of the ensemble cast features Raashii Khanna, Bhuvan Arora, Zakir Hussain, Amol Palekar, Kubbra Sait, and Regina Cassandra. The first season ended on a cliffhanger as artist-turned-counterfeiter Sunny, played by Shahid Kapoor, is being chased by Michael (Vijay Sethupathi), the head of the Counterfeiting & Currency Fraud Analysis & Research Team (CCFART). Sunny also starts a war with crime lord and former partner Mansoor (Kay Kay Menon) after the gangster sets his printing press on fire and kills his grandfather.

Bollywood has been seeing a very tough phase for a while, as only a few movies are bringing higher numbers of audiences to the theaters. Even Star Hero’s films are struggling to bring audiences, and especially Akshay Kumar is struggling very badly in this regard. Even good movies like Kesari Chapter 2 are not saving Akshay Kumar at the box office.

The actor, fondly called Khiladi by his fans, continuously releases films, but most of them face a big struggle despite receiving positive WOM. Akshay’s latest release, Kesari Chapter Two, received unanimous positive reviews and WOM.

Despite getting a positive response and having a sequel advantage, the film fails to gather higher collections at the box office. The film opened with 7 Cr net in India on the opening day, and on the weekend it had a decent jump and collected 28 Cr.

However, on the 1st weekday, it could only gather 3.5-4 Cr net, which is definitely a disappointing number for the talk it received. For 4 days, the film has collected just 32 Cr net in India, and with this, achieving 100 Cr also looks very tough for the film. The trade experts are in shock as even good movies like Kesari Chapter 2 are not saving Akshay Kumar at the box office.

With no option left, the makers of Kesari 2 opt for a lower ticket rate offer. To bring in a big number of audiences, Dharma Productions banner opts for Rs.99 tickets from today, Tuesday, which is shocking for a four-star hero film with positive WOM. This shows how big Akshay’s films are struggling to impress audiences.

The case is regarding Hyderabad-based real estate firms Sai Surya Developers and Surana Group. A major English news outlet reported that Mahesh backed the real estate initiatives of Sai Surya Developers and Surana Group. However, the buyers got cheated by these groups. 

Mahesh earned Rs 5.9 crore from endorsements: Rs 3.4 crore by check and Rs 2.5 crore in cash. Now, the cash payment has come under scrutiny. In this regard, Mahesh Babu gets an ED notice.

Telangana Police lodged several FIRs against Narendra Surana from Bhagyanagar Properties Ltd. and Sathish Chandra Gupta of Sai Surya Developers. The claim states that these two cheated buyers by selling unauthorized plots, reselling them repeatedly, and lying about registrations.

The ED started the investigation and spotted payments to Mahesh Babu, suspecting the 2.5 Cr cash was linked to money laundering. On April 27, Mahesh needs to be present for questioning. More details will be out soon in this issue.

Overhyped climaxes in Tollywood

Promotional events of films in recent times are going overboard. Makers Hype up few scenes of a film during these events to create buzz among the audience. Some films also got bombed to match the expectations set by the makers at the box office. Recent film, Arjun Son Of Vyjayanthi, is a perfect example of this.

The Team including Actor Kalyan Ram talked much about the climax portion of the film. He said that the climax was a never-before one in Indian Cinema and expressed confidence that it would work hugely. But for the audience, it was just a decent one and didn’t live up to the expectations. The film also looks to become a failure at the box office with poor theatrical performance.

This happened not just for Arjun Son Of Vyjayanthi but also with few recent releases. Devara starring NTR, too, was projected to have a memorable climax, but it appeared just average. Pushpa 2’s climax was also flat and didn’t hype up the lead to Pushpa 3.

Director Sukumar in Game Changer’s Pre-release event spoke highly about the climax, declaring that Ram Charan did an extraordinary performance in the climax. He also stated that the Actor deserved a national award for his performance. But the climax of Game Changer didn’t even strike a chord, and the film became a miserable failure.

It’s better if the makers or celebrities speak less about the scenes or portions of the films before the release. Their words and speeches attract a lot of criticism if the particular film flops at the box office.
