Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 is showing remarkable consistency at the box office, enjoying a strong weekend, particularly in the Telugu states. It has already surpassed 50 Cr in just 4 days and is steadily heading toward the 100 Cr gross mark.

The spiritual action drama is trending massively across big centers and mass centers in the Telugu States, with an especially phenomenal response in the mass centers.

Kantara Chapter 1 Telugu Box Office: 50 Cr Gross reached and onwards to 100 Cr Gross

In all 4 days of the 1st weekend, the film posted a double-digit gross collection, which is a fantastic trend. Today, Kantara Chapter 1 joins the 50 Cr gross club in Telugu states, and it will reach 55 Cr by the end of the day.

The film is likely to maintain stable collections during weekdays, helping it target the 100 Cr milestone. Kantara’s first installment collected 60 Cr gross in its entire run, and the prequel is set to surpass this figure by tomorrow.

KGF 2 collected 150 Cr gross in its full run in Telugu states, and the prequel of Kantara may not go near that number, but it definitely needs to cross 100 Cr for the movie’s business.

The Malayalam blockbuster Lokah has already hit several milestones and amazed everyone, and today it is set to break records at the Kerala box office, becoming the highest-grossing film there.

Lokah set to cross Mohanlal’s Thudarum at the Kerala Box Office today

Directed by Domnic Arun, Lokah: Chapter 1 Chandra is already an industry hit for Mollywood with around 297 Cr gross worldwide. Recently, in India also, the film became the highest grosser by beating Manjummel Boys.

Today the blockbuster film, Lokah, will achieve the Kerala no. 1 grosser record as well. In Kerala, Thudarum, with 118.9 Cr, is no. 1 grosser; the Kalyani Priyadarshan starrer collected 118.1 Cr gross till yesterday, and today the movie will cross Thudarum.

After this, Lokah has only one milestone left, which is the 300 Cr benchmark, and it is expected to be reached easily within the next 2-3 days.

Kantara Chapter 1 Sets the Box Office on Fire with Over 300 Cr Weekend

0

The box office is buzzing as Rishab Shetty’s spiritual action drama Kantara Chapter 1 performs exceptionally well, surpassing 300 Cr in its opening weekend. This is truly a remarkable achievement.

On day 3, the film saw a jump, and the collections almost matched opening day. On its 3rd day the movie has collected around 80 Cr gross worldwide and takes the total gross to 230 Cr.

Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office: Huge First Weekend

Kantara Chapter 1 has already taken the box office by storm, and today is expected to be its biggest day yet. Advance bookings across all regions have surpassed those of the opening day. The film is also set to enter the 300-crore club at the box office today.

The trade expects the film to hold the good numbers after the weekend, and there are discussions whether it will go near 600 or 700 Cr in its full run. The movie mainly needs a big jump and hold in collections in Hindi.

Kantara Chapter 1 Pays the Price for Minimal Promotions

0

Kantara Chapter 1, the blockbuster franchise film by Rishab Shetty released in theaters on 2nd October, collected over 225 Cr gross for 3 days, which is a superb number, but the makers pay the price for minimal promotions.

For a normal pan-India biggie, getting 200 Cr gross number in three days is huge. But for a blockbuster franchise film, which has the potential to collect huge numbers in all 5 languages like KGF 2, Pushpa 2, and Baahubali 2, these numbers are a bit underwhelming.

The main reason for the decline is the team of Kantara took the audiences for granted and did not put big efforts on promotions. Usually, for a pan-India film like this, several promotional videos are released, but the Hombale team chose to release only one trailer.

The trailer cut came across as very plain, dampening the curiosity around the film. The songs were unknown to the audience before release, which further hurt the buzz. Additionally, the team missed out on organizing big events for other languages and didn’t consistently invest time in promotions.

The makers of Kantara Chapter 1 did minimal promotions, which cost the film’s box office potential. They need to understand that not only does the content pull audiences, but there should be the right amount of anticipation for the film as well.

If the film releases with massive buzz and opens with positive reports, then collections will be at a different level. But the team of Rishab Shetty’s directorial is not doing any promotions even after the release.

They can put on some success meets or press meets, but nothing has happened till now. Because of this low buzz, only the film moved out of the 1000 Cr club, costing crores of revenue loss for the makers despite positive WOM.

Kantara Chapter 1 Crosses 200 Cr in 3 Days

0

Kantara Chapter 1, the much-hyped film from the Kannada film industry, has opened to a superb response from audiences and critics. The film crossed 200 Cr gross worldwide within 3 days of its theatrical run.

The spiritual action drama has had a good day 3 at the box office; especially in South Indian states, the film goes bonkers with terrific numbers. Day 3 is almost on par with the opening day collections.

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 has crossed the ₹200 Cr milestone, and the overall gross for 3 days will be over ₹220 Cr. If overseas sees a good jump, then the 3-day collections can even go for the 230 Cr range.

The film’s third day at the box office is significantly better than its second day, which is a promising sign. However, the lack of a much-needed boost for the Hindi version remains a concern for its overall theatrical performance.

The 4th day, Sunday, is expected to be the biggest day for the film, and it is expected to cross the 300 Cr milestone as well.

Mohanlal Rejects a Biopic

0

Mohanlal is having a fantastic run in 2025 with box office hits like Empuraan, Thudarum, and Hridayapoorvam. The latest buzz is that the legendary actor has turned down a biopic project directed by TJ Gnanavel.

The veteran actor scored a worldwide industry hit and a local highest grosser this year with Empuraan and Thudarum. A few months ago, it was reported that he will play the lead role in a film that is based on a real-life person.

Mohanlal and TJ Gnanavel’s biopic on the Saravana Bhavan founder is not going to happen

Dosa King is a real-life story of Saravana Bhavan founder Rajagopal, who was sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of murder.

Director TJ Gnanavel narrated this project to Mohanlal, and some discussions happened between them, but finally, the actor is said to have rejected the offer. Now the director is said to have approached Sathyaraj for the same script.

OG 10 Days Box Office: 270 Cr Worldwide, Yet to Hit Break-Even in Telugu States

0

OG’s worldwide box office gross collections (for 10 Days) are set to hit nearly 270 Cr by today, marking an impressive milestone and the biggest achievement for Pawan Kalyan by a significant margin, but the film is yet to achieve breakeven in Telugu States.

The action drama has already become one of the top-grossing films in the Telugu version, while also raking in massive profits overseas and reaching break-even in the rest of India.

The concern is that even after 10 days of its release, Pawan Kalyan’s OG has not achieved the break even in all territories of the Telugu states, despite the rights being sold at high prices. The rights for the film are priced at 155 Cr for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

OG Telugu States Box Office: Still a long way to reach the break-even

Till now, the movie’s 10-day collections will be around 120 Cr. Still 35 Cr is needed to reach the target. The buyers need a big Sunday, and after the Sunday also, the Sujeeth director needs to run for a few days for the buyers’ recovery.

In regions like Ceeded, Uttarandhra, and Nellore, the buyers haven’t achieved even 80% recovery, making it crucial for the film to have a strong box office performance in these areas.

Kantara Chapter 1 Hindi 3 Days Collections Still Below KGF 2 Day 1

0

Kantara Chapter 1, the biggest project of Kannada Cinema directed and led by Rishab Shetty, is having superb consistency in the South, but in Hindi, the film’s 3-day collections are still below the day 1 number of KGF 2.

Kantara Chapter 1 is trending on par with KGF 2 in Karnataka, and in other Southern states, even though it is not on par with Yash and Neel’s big sequel, the trend is strong. The most disappointing territory for the film is the Hindi Belt.

KGF 2 Hindi version opened with 54 Cr net in India and created an all-time record at that time. Kantara’s prequel opens with 18 Cr in Hindi, and it collected around 13 Cr net on day 2, which takes the total net to 31 Cr.

Today, on day 3, the film is holding on par with opening day, and 3 days net will be close to 50 Cr, which is less than KGF 2’s opening day.

Overall, it is kind of a shocking performance by Kantara Chapter 1 in Hindi, and at this trend, the film doing 200 Cr net also looks like a very tough task.

Kantara Chapter 1 Takes the Lead Over Idli Kadai in Tamil Nadu

0

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 is performing exceptionally well in South India right from the start, and now the spiritual action drama takes the lead over Dhanush’s Idli Kadai in Tamil Nadu.

For Idli Kadai, most of the numbers are coming from Tamil Nadu only, and the movie’s target market is also the same. For 3 days Idly Kadai has collected 25 Cr gross, while Kantar’s prequel collected 11 Cr gross in 2 days.

Kantara Chapter 1 dominates Dhanush’s Film in Tamil Nadu

Surprisingly, on Saturday, Kantara Chapter 1 takes over Idly Kadai in Tamil Nadu. While the Dhanush directorial continues to maintain strong collections, the Rishab Shetty directorial is showing better occupancy rates. Trade expects that the film’s collections will grow further on Saturday and Sunday.

Also, Kantara’s prequel needs such huge trends, as the movie’s theatrical rights are sold at 32 Cr. So, to achieve the breakeven, it needs to collect more than 60 Cr gross, and that is why it needs to continue the strong run at the box office, at least for 2 weeks.
