Coolie Achieves Fastest Million in North America Premieres Pre-Sales

0

Tamil Cinema fans eagerly await the release of Coolie, which marks the first-ever collaboration of Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj. The latest news is that Coolie achieves the fastest million in North America’s premiere pre-sales.

Till now, very few films in Kollywood have collected more than 1 million premieres. With 12 days left for release, Coolie has already crossed the one million mark, which shows how strong the bookings are.

Also, Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie achieves the fastest million in North America premiere pre-sales for Kollywood.

Now, the action drama aims for 2 million pre-sales, chasing the highest position: Kabali with 1.92M pre-sales for premieres.

Though the film’s trailer received an underwhelming response, Coolie is on track to break many records at the box office, as it has a huge hype among audiences.

FireStorm Sinks Under Thaman’s Overhype

0

Pawan Kalyan fans are extremely happy, as the first single from their most-awaited movie, OG, has been released today. However, the song, Firestorm, sinks under Thaman’s overhype.

Everyone knows that “They Call Him OG” created a huge anticipation with its teaser and posters. Music director Thaman received a unanimous positive response for the BGM he scored for the teaser, and undoubtedly, his score has a main role in the massive reach of the teaser.

Recently, S. Thaman officially stated that OG’s music album will be an answer to Jailer and Leo’s music, which meant indirectly that he will outshine Anirudh’s work with OG music.

So there have been huge expectations for “They Call Him OG”‘s first single. Because of massive expectations, the song did not receive a unanimous positive response from audiences.

Everyone liked Pawan Kalyan’s presentation and the lyrical video design, but coming to the music, there are some complaints that it was too loud and the lyrics are not even clear because of bad mixing.

OG’s first single, Firestorm, fails to impress all because of Thaman’s overhype. While some sections felt it was a terrific composition, others felt the song did not reach the expectations or potential.

Had there not been such huge expectations, the song would have received a unanimous positive response from all audiences.

Coolie vs War 2: Trailers Hide the Highlights

0

August 14 will witness the biggest clash of Indian cinema as two crazy biggies arrive on that date: Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Hrithik Roshan-NTR’s War 2. Both the films’ trailers have hidden the highlights.

Everyone knows that both films are big-budget ones and have star-studded casts. The trailer of War 2 was released on 25th July, and the Coolie trailer has been released today. Audiences have huge expectations for both films, so they expect massive output from them.

Coolie and War 2 Trailers Hide the Highlights

But somehow Lokesh Kanagaraj and Ayan Mukerji have hidden the major highlights of the film, which made the trailers be cut differently. The trailer of the War sequel was expected to have big/grand-scale action sequences, but it had more dialogue and did not show the anticipated scale and/or fights.

The same goes with Lokesh Kanagaraj and Superstar Rajini’s Coolie trailer. The fans anticipated a lot of high moments, and despite Rajini and Nagarjuna having faceoff scenes, the trailer did not even put in a single shot of those.

It looks like Lokesh definitely underplayed with the trailer cut. Both the movies’ teams want to show all high moments in theaters only, as they have star-studded casts, which will certainly give them a massive opening at the box office.

Mahavatar Narasimha Wave Hits Kingdom Collections

0

Mahavatar Narasimha, which releases last week with modest opening, has gained amazing pace thanks to outstanding word of mouth. The picture saw steady progress in its first week, but it was the second weekend that really drove it into the box office spotlight. With a big rise on the second Saturday—its highest single-day collection yet—the picture is currently making strong progress for the second Sunday, with housefuls already recorded in numerous cities.

What’s remarkable is the film’s widespread success in both Hindi and Telugu markets. In particular, Mahavatar Narasimha is shaking the Telugu box office, directly impacting the performance of Kingdom, which had a stronger opening initially. While Kingdom garnered mixed reviews and average word of mouth, Mahavatar Narasimha is riding high on unanimous positive reception from critics and audiences alike.

The effect is especially visible in Hyderabad city. While Kingdom has clocked ₹1 crore in advance bookings for tomorrow, Mahavatar Narasimha leads with ₹1.4 crore—clearly indicating shifting audience preferences. The film’s strong narrative and impactful execution have provided audiences with a compelling alternative, posing a serious challenge for Kingdom to maintain its momentum going forward.

Coolie Trailer Disappoints Big Time

0

The hype around Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie is unprecedented in Tamil cinema. The fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the film’s trailer. However, the Coolie trailer disappoints big time.

As said above, because of the actor-director combination and the huge star cast, the film carries an immense buzz, and the promotional content has also worked superbly till now. All were waiting for the most anticipated trailer, which was released today.

Shockingly, Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie trailer disappoints everyone. Excluding the last shot, the rest of the trailer looked very flat without any highs, and the surprising thing is that even the BGM and dialogues also did not create much impact.

Rajini – Lokesh’s Coolie Trailer Misses The Punch

Lokesh Kanagaraj seems to have deliberately avoided highlighting the major scenes and did not want to reveal much of the content, possibly to underplay the film. It could have been more tightly edited, as the lengthy cut without any high moments failed to create the expected impact.

Fans feel that the team could have released a glimpse instead of a trailer, and we can say that the trailer will certainly impact the film’s buzz, and it is already receiving backlash on social media.

Fire Storm Erupts: Pawan Kalyan’s Swag Meets Thaman’s Thunder

0

OG is the biggest hype move of Pawan Kalyan, and finally, the film’s most-awaited first single got released today. The song, Fire Storm, makes fans go crazy as Pawan Kalyan’s swag meets Thaman’s thunder.

If we observe the song, it is typical of Thaman’s loud music, where he elevates the hero, which always works massively on big screens. The same goes for the first single of “They Call Him OG.”

Pawan Kalyan Looks Massive in Fire Storm – OG’s First Single

Each frame of PSPK in the song is filled with swag, and he looks his best. A fan knows how to present his idol at his best, and director Sujeeth is an ardent fan of Pawan, and he shows his fanism in every frame of the song.

Overall, OG’s first single, Fire Storm, makes fans go crazy with Pawan Kalyan’s swag all over with Thaman’s thunderous music.

This is definitely a big relief for Pawan Kalyan fans too, as they have seen a big low with Hari Hara Veera Mallu’s failure.

KGF, Kantara, Salaar, Now Mahavatar Narsimha

Hombale Films, the production house from the Kannada Cinema, shattered the Pan-Indian box office in recent years. First, they roared with the KGF series, then continued it with Kantara and Salaar, and now they have another winner with Mahavatar Narsimha.

As said above, the team Hombale is the only one till now that has been making waves at the pan-India box office.

Hombale Films Strikes Gold With Mahavatar Narsimha

They started the journey with the KGF series, and the second part of it was a huge blockbuster. Then came Rishab Shetty’s Kantara, followed by Prashant Neel-Prabhas’s Salaar, and the latest one is Mahavatar Narsimha.

Indian theaters found a new and huge blockbuster with Mahavatar Narsimha. All the above-mentioned films are not standalone, and every film is a franchise.

Mahavaar Cinematic Universe: Biggest Franchise From Kannada Cinema/Hombale Films

So, there will be more movies coming in these franchises, with the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe being the bigger one, as it lasts till 2037.

Normally, the Kannada film industry is considered a small industry, but Hombale Films, with their vision, are taking their market to a higher level.

Lately, Hombale Films also signed a 3-film deal with Prabhas, and certainly all of them will be pan-India films.

Mahavatar Narsimha, the latest blockbuster, is directed by Ashwin Kumar and produced by Shilpaa Dhawan, Kushal Desai, and Chaitanya Desai under the banner of Kleem Productions, presented by Hombale Films.

Son of Sardaar 2 Movie Review: Bores To The Core

0

Movie Name: Son of Sardaar 2
Rating: 2/5
Cast:
Ajay Devgn, Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan, Kubbra Sait, Sanjay Mishra, Chunky Pandey, Neeru Bajwa, Vindu Dara Singh, Deepak Dobriyal, Sharat Saxena, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Others
Director: Vijay Kumar Arora
Produced By:
Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, NR Pachisia, and Pravin Talreja
Release Date: 1st August 2025

Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 hits cinemas this Friday, i.e., August 1. The film’s makers released two trailers, and the cast is star-studded with a sequel tag. Let us check how well this comedy drama has been made in our review.

Story:

After relocating to Scotland, Jassi (Ajy Devgn) is betrayed by his wife, Dimple (Neeru Bajwa), and meets Rabia (Mrunal Thakur), a Pakistani who has also been betrayed by her husband. The remainder of the movie focuses on the chaotic/humorous situations that Rabia and Jassi encounter.

Performances:

Ajay Devgn tries to lend some innocence and fun to his character, Jassi Randhawa, but he could show his impact only in a few scenes. Mrunal Thakur shows that she can also handle comedy with this film, but even her character is also not properly etched and leaves little effect.

Deepak Dobriyal and Ravi Kishan make some fun parts work with their natural ease, and one wishes the film could have given them more scope to excel. Kubbra Sait, Roshni Walia, Sahil Mehta, Chunky Panday, Vindu Singh, Mukul Dev, Ashwini Kalsekar, Neeru Bajwa, Dolly Ahluwalia, Sharat Saxena, and Sanjay Mishra are all okay.

Analysis:

Written by Jagdeep Singh Sidhu and Mohit Jain, the slapstick comedy is a stand-alone follow-up to Son of Sardaar (2012). The plot is thin, which needed a well-written screenplay with enough engaging/funny moments.

However, Son Of Sardaar 2 ends up as a loud and boring journey with only a few moments really working in its favor. For example, when Gogi’s family visits his house to finalize the wedding, Jassi portrays all three of the roles originally played by Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, and Jackie Shroff in a scene from Border.

The enitre sequence is turns out hilarious, and as said above, a few scenes work well because of the timing of Deepak Dobriyal and Ravi Kishan. But other than the film does not carry a proper mood or flow, and becomes convoluted and overflowing with characters and wannabe hilarious parts as the story goes on.

The climax of the film tries to give a message about relationships, but it is too dramatic, and predictable with an add on dragged moment at the ending

Positives:

  • Few Comedy Scenes
  • Songs

Negatives:

  • Absurd/Forced Humor
  • Ineffective Emotions
  • Pale Characters
  • Inconsistent Screenplay

Son Of Sardaar 2 Movie Review and Verdict:

Vijay Kumar Arora and Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 is a messy comedy outing that works only in parts and bores for the rest with chaotic narration, emotionally ineffective characters and lifeless fun moments.

However, Dil Raju is under fire after Thammudu’s OTT release, as netizens post on social media that the film is unbearable to watch in the digital space as well.

Malayalis Unhappy with National Awards

0

The 71st National Awards were announced yesterday, and there is displeasure from most sections of the movie lovers, as they are not happy with the award selection. Especially, Malayalam audiences are unhappy with the National Awards.

Prithviraj Sukumaran worked for years and made a dream project, Aadu Jeevitham (The Goat Life), and everyone was certain that the film and his performance would receive national accolades.

Aadu Jeevitham Unrecognized By National Awards Committee: Malayalam Audiences Angry

However, the 71st National Awards announcement left many speechless, as the public felt many movies that deserved awards were ignored.

Malayalam audiences are unhappy with the National Awards, as they did not give the award to Prithviraj for Aadu Jeevitham (completed censor in 2023) and gave the best actor award to Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan, a mass masala entertainer.

Even the other language audiences also feel that Prithiviraj deserves the award for his performance in The Goat Life. Leaving aside the best actor, the film did not receive an award in any category.

Every time the National Awards are announced, there will certainly be criticism, and even this time it has not changed.
