Mahavatar Narsimha is one of the rare films in recent times that is having an incredible run at the box office even on its 5th weekend. The devotional/animated movie has received immense love from audiences. Mahavatar Narsimha wins the box office battle against Coolie and War 2.

Today’s advance bookings for the film are better than Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s War 2. For both films, it is their second weekend, but they failed to receive the expected jump.

Mahavatar Narsimha, a small-budget animated film, dominates War 2 and Coolie, which are big-budget movies with star-studded combinations. The film took the lead in the ticket sales on the Book My Show app.

Till yesterday, Coolie has collected around 445 Cr gross worldwide, while War 2 collected around 305 Cr gross worldwide. But the small-budget animated film Mahavatar Narsimha collected around 280 Cr gross worldwide, and it is racing towards the 300 Cr mark.

Yet, the teams remain silent. As of now, multiple dates are being circulated in the industry for both films, but the teams still maintain the silence.

0

Megastar Chiranjeevi turned 70 today, and the wishes poured in for the iconic actor along with several movie announcements/updates. However, Vishwambhara, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu teasers fall flat in front of the expectations.

With Vishwambhara, not only the fans but even others expected a teaser with full grandeur and top-notch visuals. But the team comes up with fewer visuals and dialogue based glimpse.

For Anil Ravipudi’s film, the fans expected an entertaining and mass glimpse, but the director designs a short and stylish glimpse without any dialogue from Chiru.

Both Vishwambhara and Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu teasers are decent, but they are nowhere near the expectations.

Definitely, the movies’ result cannot be judged by the glimpses, but as of now, the mega fans are left with a little disappointment.

Paradha Movie Review: A Little Drawn Out But Sincere Journey

0

Movie Name: Paradha
Rating: 2.75/5
Cast:
Anupama Parameswaran, Darshana Rajendran, Sangitha Krish, Rag Mayur, and Others
Director: Praveen Kandregula
Produced By:
Ananda Media
Release Date: 14th August 2025

Praveen Kandregula directs Paradha with a cast that includes Anupama Parameswaran, Darshana Rajendran, and Sangitha Krish. The movie got a positive reaction for its paid premieres. Let’s uncover what it holds in our review.

Story:

Paradha revolves around a long-standing custom linked to Goddess Jwalamma in a village called Padathi, and taking it off is thought to invite a curse. Subbu (Anupama Parameswaran) gets into a tough spot when a photographer snaps her without a paradha. The film shows how superstition endangers her life and how she fights it to liberate the village women.

Performances:

Anupama Parameswaran gets a meaty role in Paradha and impresses with her performance. She could have made an everlasting impact if the writing provided more chances to excel. Darshana Rajendran shines as Ami, bringing vibrant energy to the screen.

Sangitha plays the heroine’s aunt convincingly, matching her performance to the character and setting. Harsha Vardhan effectively portrays Sangeetha’s husband. Rag Mayur does alright, but the father’s character should have been stronger

Analysis:

Director Praveen Kandregula tries a new and forward-thinking concept with Paradha. The movie begins with a captivating idea. The setting of the village goddess Jwalamma is captivating and brings a sense of mystery.

Leading up to the interval, we see Subbu, played by Anupama Parameswaran, getting tangled up in an unexpected danger while grappling with the overwhelming pressure of tradition that endangers her life.

The second half of the movie sticks to its plot, but it gets a bit dull since it does not really amp up the key moments. The friendship of Ami and Subbu has a good journey, but the bonding between them should have been more explored. How the side characters, such as a small role by Rajendra Prasad, and his short story about freedom relate to the life of Subbu should have been connected well.

But the film still grabs your attention with a few standout moments, especially Subbu’s realization moment and the insightful discussion she has with Sangeeta and Darshana. These blocks are well-made and keep the flow going.

Praveen Kandregula pulls off the climax of Paradha well, but it might have benefited from higher dramatic setup to hit harder emotionally.

Positives:

  • Honest Intent
  • Powerful Dialogues/Scenes
  • Performances

Negatives:

  • Some Dull Parts In The Latter Half
  • A Few Crucial Scenes Mishandled
  • Fails To Take The Lead Character To Next Level

Paradha Movie Review and Verdict:

Praveen Kandregula’s Paradha gives a simple yet powerful take on the theme of women’s empowerment. The first half is perfect, and the second half is good too, though some parts drag a bit and some scenes miss the intended effect. It can be watched for its good intent/thought-provoking scenes, and the natural performances of Anupama Parameswaran, Darshana, and Sangeetha.

War 2 vs Coolie: 8-Day Box Office Battle

0

With no notable releases this week, the box office clash of War 2 and Coolie has once again taken center stage. Here are the details of the 8-day collections of both movies.

Coolie’s 1st extended week (8 days) worldwide gross stands at 435 Cr. The film needs 40 Cr+ in its 2nd weekend to join the 500 Cr club.

While the breakeven is at 600 Cr, it is unreachable for the action drama, and the buyers hope for a big second weekend to increase their recovery.

Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s War 2’s extended 1st week (8 days) worldwide gross stands at approximately 302 Cr, marking NTR’s hat-trick 300 Cr film.

The film requires a strong 2nd weekend to cross the 350 Cr mark in its full run. The breakeven figure is valued at 700 Cr, and the film just did 50% of valued business numbers, turning out to be an outright failure.

War 2 and Coolie were released with massive expectations. But sadly, both films did not do justice regarding their box office performance.

Stalin 4K Turns Out a Massive Flop

0

The re-release trend in the Telugu film industry has become a norm, but all movies are not getting a big response. Chiranjeevi’s Stalin 4K turns out to be a massive flop.

On the occasion of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s birthday, fans re-released Stalin, but the response is disastrous.

The audiences have shown no interest at all in watching the movie. Only a few shows had good occupancy, and there was no demand for additional shows.

Many shows were canceled even before they started because of the lack of audience. It was expected, as the announcement of the re-release itself did not bring excitement among the mega fans.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, Stalin was initially released in theaters in 2006, and it was an average fare at the box office. However, upon its re-release, the film becomes an outright failure.
