Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo takes home 10 awards at SIIMA

After a great show at the Sakshi Awards, Icon Star Allu Arjun and Trivikram’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo continued its award sweep at SIIMA as well. The film was a major blockbuster of 2020 and created never before records standing as the highest grosser of Allu Arjun’s career.

The Icon Star Took to social media and shared his happiness over the film’s award haul at SIIMA.

Brahmanandam now takes a new role

Legendary comedian Brahmanandam will now don a new role in the upcoming film Panchatantram. The anthology will feature the actor and he will also be seen narrating another story that will be a part of the anthology. Harsha Pulipaka directing this film that features multiple stories.

“He takes on the role of narrator Veda Vyas, taking the audience through all the stories. I think this is the first time Brahmanandam garu is narrating a story, and it’s a privilege to us,” explains Harsha, adding that his role will provide a fresh take for the audience. Brahmanandam’s role in the film is a serious one, unlike the conventional slapstick comedy he usually partakes in.

“I also had the idea of wanting him to narrate all the stories, so I first discussed it with my producers, Akhilesh Vardhan and Srujan Yarabolu, after which, all of us pitched the idea to Brahmanandam garu, and he obliged,” Harsha adds.

Superstar Mahesh Babu on Evaru Meelo Koteeswarudu

Fans of Superstar Mahesh Babu have another reason to rejoice along with his recent win at the SIIMA awards. Mahesh will be soon seen on the reality quiz show Evaru Meelo Koteeswarudu. Mahesh Babu and host Jr NTR shot for the episode today at Annapurna Studios.

The show already has had 2 celebrity guests so far. Mega Power Star Ram Charan Tej was the guest on the opening episode. An episode featuring directors SS Rajamouli and Koratala Siva will be telecast tomorrow. With Superstar Mahesh Babu joining the list of celebrities on the show, the hype for the episode has gone off the charts.

Mahesh and Tarak share a great bond off-screen and the last time the two were publically seen at Bharat Ane Nenu audio launch. The event was a huge success and the fans of both the actors filled up the LB Stadium to witness them both together.

Evaru Meelo Koteeswarudu has been recording good TRPs so far and the episode is surely going to exceed the ratings. The makers will reveal further details on the episode soon.

Chiranjeevi openly requests Jagan and co.

Megastar Chiranjeevi has always been quite vocal about the needs of the industry. He has time and again raised his voice for the issues which are relevant to the betterment of the cine workers. Chiranjeevi took the stage at the Love Story pre-release event and made a request to the AP state government on the ticket pricing issue.

Speaking at the event Chiranjeevi said, “The audience see the big names and throng to the theatres with the expectations of being entertained. We want to give the best to the audience and our quest for quality output leads to big budgets.”

“Today there are films that have been completed and waiting for the situation outside to improve so that they can go for the release. My own film Acharya has been in the waiting for quite some time despite its completion,” he added.

Chiranjeevi said that already people are extremely cautious about venturing into cinema theatres. In such a situation, the ticket rates fixed by the government would not be a viable option for the producers looking to generate revenue and recovering the investment.

“Love Story is like an ice-breaker and the future of a lot of films would depend on this film’s performance,” observed Chiranjeevi. He requested the government to take appropriate actions and bring forth a G.O that would be mutually beneficial for all the groups involved.

The Megastar along with a delegation of Tollywood biggies was supposed to meet Jaganmohan Reddy a few days ago. However, the meeting didn’t happen and a resolution on this issue didn’t come out.

Sundeep Kishan and VI Anand movie to go on floors in October

Sundeep Kishan has an interesting lineup of films coming up next. He will next be joining hands with talented director VI Anand who is known for his innovative subjects. This will be the second film together for the duo after Tiger. Anil Sunkara is presenting this film, while Razesh Danda will be producing the movie on Hasya Movies.

The Production No 1 of the banner was launched earlier today. Gemini Kiran and Producer Sudheer handed over the script to the makers, while Allari Naresh sounded the clapboard for the muhurtham shot and Naga Shaurya switched on the camera. Naandhi director Vijay Kanakamedala directed the first shot.

Kavya Thapar who recently appeared in the superhit Ek Mini Katha and Kushee Ravi of Kannada superhit Dia fame are the heroines in the film. The regular shoot of the yet-to-be-titled flick will commence in October.

Mahesh, Rashmika win big at the SIIMA Awards

After a gap of a year, the SIIMA (South Indian International Movie Awards) took place amidst great glamour and celebrations on Saturday. SIIMA awards event which recognizes the best and favorites of the South Indian cinema was held in Hyderabad. The event was attended by the bigwigs of Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada industries.

While Mahesh Babu won Best Actor for Maharshi, Rashmika Mandanna won for Dear Comrade. Nani walked away with key trophies, including Entertainer Of The Year, as well as Best Actor (Critics) for Jersey and Gang Leader.

Alia Bhatt roped in for NTR30?

Speculations have been going up on a leading Bollywood actress being roped in for the landmark NTR30, Jr NTR’s next film under director Koratala Siva. Earlier the name of Kiara Advani popped up and now, it’s Alia Bhatt’s name that is now doing the rounds. Rumours are rife that Siva approached Alia to play Jr NTR’s love interest in the action drama, and Alia was excited about the offer. Alia is already paired with Ram Charan in RRR.

“Ever since Alia was approached for RRR, she had been keen on exploring the South market. Although she was approached for several big-ticket films, she has been very choosy,” says a source. While neither Alia nor the makers have made any official announcement, curiosity about the project has been spiked by these rumors.

This landmark project will be the second collaboration between Earlier the name of Kiara Advani popped up and now, it’s Alia Bhatt’s name that is now doing the rounds. Rumours are rife t and Koratala. The duo back in 2016 gave the supper successful Janatha Garage. Already Anirudh has been roped in to score music for this film.

The makers of NTR30 even announced that the movie will release on April 29, 2022 and pre-production works have already started on the project.

Allu Arjun and Trivikram together one more time

Icon Star Allu Arjun and Trivikram’s combination is one of the most successful ones in Tollywood. The duo has given hit films like and Julayi and S/O Satyamurthy along with mega-blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurram Lo. Now the director and actor have come together one more time.

This time it’s not for a film but for a commercial for two-wheeler ride aggregator ‘Rapido’. Allu Arjun and Trivikram shot for the ad at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. The pictures have gone viral on the internet and the Icon Star can be seen in a funky hairdo.

This is not the first time Trivikram has directed the ‘Pushpa’ actor in a commercial. The duo also worked on the commercial of digital streaming platform AHA some time back. The look of Allu Arjun has raised great curiosity and the ad will go on air soon for all to witness

Dulquer Salmaan releases Prashanth Varma’s HANU-MAN

Creative director Prasanth Varma’s first three films- Awe, Kalki, and Zombie Reddy were three different genre films that were critically acclaimed and commercially successful. Making commercial entertainers with unique concepts is a rare superiority of Prasanth Varma whose upcoming movie titled HANU-MAN is going to be another first of its kind film on Indian screen.

HANU-MAN is the first Pan-Indian superhero film and Zombie Reddy combo is back with it. Prasanth Varma teams up with young hero Teja Sajja and the film HANU-MAN will be a visual treat for cine-goers. As promised, the makers have come up with a first look poster and also a 65-second glimpse introducing HANUMANTHU from the world of Anjanadri. Dulquer Salmaan has released the first look poster and the glimpse on his Facebook page.

Teja’s getup is also very different, as he appears wearing a printed shirt and a white pajama. We can see a glorious silver colour pendant with black thread on Teja’s neck. He also wears custom-made footwear.

MAA Elections guidelines issued

The Movie Artists Association (MAA) elections are going to be a heated affair this time around. The elections will take place on October 10. The contest is going to be an interesting one this time around considering the fact that Manchu Vishnu will be facing Prakash Raj.

Prakash Raj has already confirmed his candidacy and has given multiple interviews about the elections. Vishnu has got support from the Naresh group. Actor Naresh is the current president of the association.

Apart from the duo, Jeevitha, Hema, and CVL Narasimha Rao are also contesting the elections. The election will commence on the 10th of October. The Jubilee Public School will host the election, while the election houses were fixed from 8 AM to 2 PM.

The nominations would be allowed between September 27 to 29. The received nominations will be scrutinized on the 30th of this month. The candidates can withdraw their nominations on October 1-2 till 5 PM. After this, the final list of the candidates will be out on October 2. The election result will be announced on the same date of the election, October 10.

The guidelines mentioned in the election notification say that one candidate should run the elections for a single post and running the elections for multiple posts will not be entertained. The candidate will not be eligible to run the elections if he/she is an executive member in the previous committee and if they didn’t have attended less than 50 percent of EC meetings.

The candidates cannot run the polls if the office bearers of the Department Associations won’t resign from their respective posts.
