Tollywood should have united during Vakeel Saab; it lacks unity: Nani

Natural Star Nani is basking on the accolades for Shyam Singha Roy. Both Nani and Sai Pallavi’s performances received great reviews and the film is performing well at the box office. Shyam Singha Roy would have been doing even better if not for the AP tickets issue.

Shyam Singha Roy is facing severe cuts from its box office collections as a number of theatres have shut their doors due to the government’s ticket policy. Nani has been quite vocal about the issue and has often requested the government to take steps to save the industry.

The actor in a recent interview stated that Tollywood lacks unity. He pointed out that the situation would have been different if the industry united during Vakeel Saab release time. It was during the release of this Pawan Kalyan starrer that the government issued new ticket prices G.O.

“Instead of raising their concerns about this issue during Vakeel Saab release, everyone stayed calm. Most were not bothered as their movie was not up for release,” pointed out Nani.”

I would like to be proven wrong but I feel Tollywood lacks unity,” he added.

0

SS Rajamouli’s RRR is now facing one obstacle after another. According to reports, the much-awaited pre-release event of the film slated to be held in Hyderabad on the 30th of this month is cancelled. The reason for this RRR Hyderabad event cancellation is to avoid large gatherings due to the recent spike in Omicron cases. The event was supposed to happen at the LB Stadium in a grand manner.

The movie is one of the most anticipated big-ticket releases and the expectations on the film are sky-high. The trio of Rajamouli, Jr NTR, and Charan have been extremely busy with promotions of late. However, with the recent decisions taken by various states to impose night curfews and occupancy restrictions, tensions have mounted for the RRR team.

RRR is now battling quite a few adverse situations before its release. On one hand, there is the Omicron scare and on the other there is AP government ticket prices issue. These challenges have made the situation quite tense for the movie unit as well as the fans who are eagerly waiting for this project. The RRR Hyderabad event was supposed create even bigger buzz and was planned in never before manner.

It is also very nice to see our very own Telugu actors interacting with each other without any inhibitions. This will only impact the industry in a positive manner.

Allu Arjun is also the brand ambassador of Aha.

Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam Breaks Previous Trailer Records

0

Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam has shattered the previous trailer records with a mind-boggling 23.2M views in 24 hours for the trailer.

The film amassed 23M+ views, beating the previous record of 21.8M views held by Bahubali 2- The Conclusion. It is even more amusing that Prabhas himself has beaten his previous record.

Radhe Shyam’s trailer has also surpassed Bahubali 2 in the most likes in 24 hours, at 593K likes. However, SS Rajamouli’s RRR holds the record for the most-liked trailer in 24 hours at 1.2M+ likes, followed by Vakeel Saab and Pushpa.

RRR falls just behind Radhe Shyam and Bahubali in terms of the most-viewed trailer in 24 hours.

The Hindi version of the trailer has collected 28M+ views in just 24 hours but this is largely due to Tseries releasing the trailer. Tseries being the world’s most subscribed channel has definitely boosted the views. But credit has to be given to Prabhas for pulling such records. This only proves that he is not only the biggest Telugu star but also the biggest star in India

Radhe Shyam promises an engaging romantic period thriller. The glimpses and the trailer promise a visual treat. The real test however will be on 14th January 2022 when it releases in theatres.

The film also stars Pooja Hegde, Priyadarshi, Murali Sharma, and Bhagyashree in prominent roles. Radha Krishna Kumar is the director of the film, and UV Creations have bankrolled the project.

Chiranjeevi Thanks KCR For Revising Ticket Prices

0

Chiranjeevi recently expressed his thank you to Telangana chief minister Shri KCR for revising the atrocious ticket prices in the state of Telangana.

Previously, the ticket rates in Telangana varied based on the location of theatres. This meant that theatres were forced to keep the prices as low as 20 rupees-50 rupees per ticket in some places. This inevitably caused a lot of loss for theatre owners.

In recent fantastic news, the Telangana government led by KCR has agreed to the requests of various filmmakers. They have imposed new conditions favoring films.

Revised Ticket Prices In Telangana

Chiranjeevi also expressed his thanks to KCR regarding the hike in ticket prices via a tweet.

The AP government and Jagan are yet to budge to requests by the Telugu film industry. Even after repeated attempts, there have been no improvements in ticket prices.

Situation gets worse for Tollywood as V Epiq Nellore- India’s largest screen shuts down

0

The terrible state of theatres in AP continues as V Epiq Nellore- India’s largest screen and third largest screen in the world shut its doors. The theatre management stated that the government forced ticket prices have made it impossible for them to continue their operations.

The theatre opened amidst great fanfare in 2019 and featured state-of-the-art sound and projection facilities.

The theatre management claimed that the mandated ticket prices of Rs 30/- onwards have made it impossible to even pay the electricity bills. V Epic cinemas now joins a list of theatres in AP to voluntarily shut their operations due to impossible pricing slabs imposed by the government.

With a number of Tollywood biggies set to release in the coming days, producers are spending sleepless nights. The distributors and exhibitors are now under a new fear of theatre closures. Surprise inspections are being conducted across the state. Three theatres were shut down in Vizianagaram last week while Krishna district Joint Collector seized 15 theaters in the district for trivial reasons.

If this situation continues, the trade circles and the industry will surely collapse and the theatres will have to see a permanent shutdown. What’s really worrying is that lives of so many are being put on line to cater to the ego of one individual

RRR: The riskiest project of Rajamouli’s career

0

SS Rajamouli’s RRR has created a massive buzz all across the nation. The film has every ingredient of a mass commercial blockbuster and if the promotions are anything to go by, the entire unit has massive confidence in the content. However, despite so many advantages, the project is still the riskiest of Rajamouli’s career with a lot riding on it.

Big budget entertainers are not a new thing for the ace director. His earlier projects like Baahubali 1 & 2, Magadheera, and Eega had a lot of risk elements. Despite the risk elements, these films were made with massive budgets. The movies were even released with deficits but turned out hugely profitable to the producers on their release. All these films were blockbusters and Industry Hits and made SS Rajamouli a name to reckon with on national level.

In case of RRR, the situation was expected to be quite different. The risk element was supposed to be lesser than before. With stars of the caliber of Tarak and Charan in hands and a successful pan-India track record, RRR was expected to have a safer path for its release. With Rajamouli’s market pan-India hovering around Rs 500-600 crores, RRR was expected to release with a table profit.

However, because of the Corona-infused lockdown and AP government tickets issue, the film is at massive risk. The constant delays have caused a spike in interest rates and tickets issues in AP have brought down the pre-release bizz.

Adding to this, the new variant has caused many states to impose occupancy restrictions and night curfews. This would also impact the movie business on a pan-India level. The tension prevailing before the RRR release is probably that most Rajamouli has faced before any of his earlier movies.

Telangana government gives a green signal for hike in ticket prices

0

The ticket prices issue has taken a contrasting route in the two Telugu states. While the pricing issue in AP is in court right now, the Telangana government on the other hand has given a green signal to hike the prices.

The Telangana government has issued a G.O which has given guidelines to theaters and multiplexes about the increase in prices as per the seating class. The minimum price for tickets in an AC theatre is now Rs 50/- + GST while the maximum price is Rs 150/-+ GST.

Coming to multiplexes, the minimum pricing decided is at Rs 100/- +GST while the max pricing is at Rs 250/-+ GST. In case of recliners, the maximum pricing has been established as Rs 300+ GST.

For non-AC theatres, the minimum price set is Rs 30/-+ GST while the maximum ticket price is Rs 70/-+ GST. The maintenance charges have also been set as Rs 3/- in case of non-AC theatres and Rs 5/- in case of AC theatres.
