Ishq (Not a Love Story) trailer launched

The trailer of Teja Sajja and Priya Prakash Varrier’s Ishq(Not a Love Story) dropped in a while back. The trailer starts on a softer romantic note but takes a darker turn towards the end. A remake of Malayalam film of the same name, Ishq would look to replicate the success of its original which was a massive hit due to its gripping screenplay.

Teja Sajja who recently made his impressive debut with Zombie Reddy has made another impressive script selection and would look to continue with his streak. Priya Prakash Varrier looks good in her role and the pair looks great together.

The BGM of the trailer is definitely the highlight. Mahati Swara Sagar has done a tremendous job of dealing with the different moods of the trailer. The film, directed by SS Raju will hit the screens on 23rd April.

Prabhas’ Adipurush shoot stopped due to Corona case

Prabhas’ Adipurush, whose shooting is going on in Mumbai has faced a stoppage in shoot due to the second wave of Corona cases. As the 2nd wave of coronavirus has hit Maharashtra massively, the state government has decided to stop the shooting of all tv serials, reality shows, and movies. This order from the government has impacted Prabhas’ Adipurush shoot as well.

The movie, being shot on a massive budget involves a huge crew as well and this might be a huge risk factor. Hence, the government saw it best to stop the shoots at once. Adipurush is a mythological drama based on Ramayan and is being directed by Om Raut. Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, and Sunny Singh also star in this mega-budget movie.

Shankar to team up with Ranveer for Aniyan adaptation

Sensational director Shankar who is known for delivering social messages through big-budget fantasies has made another massive announcement. The ‘Robot’ director has announced that he will be teaming up with Bollywood star Ranveer Singh for a fresh project. This project is none other than his own Aniyan adaptation in Hindi. The film dubbed in Telugu as Aparichitudu was a major hit in AP as well.

Aniyan is a 2005 Tamil blockbuster that follows the story of Ambi (Vikram). Ambi is a socially conscious and individual and the film explores his tryst with split character personality disorder. Vikram won many accolades and awards for his terrific performance in this hugely successful and critically acclaimed movie.

Shankar made this announcement on Twitter where he confirmed that it will be a pan- India film which will go on floors in mid-2022.

Just last month Shankar made another announcement of teaming up with Mega Power Star Ram Charan for a political drama.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh expressed his excitement at this major update and tweeted, “I can only hope that my interpretation and rendition of the part also connects with audiences in the same way. It’s undoubtedly a once-in-a-lifetime performance piece, and I am ready to give this role every single ounce of my being,” he said.

Akhanda record hunt started

Balakrishna’s Akhanda title update teaser is on a record-breaking spree. The teaser released yesterday on the occasion Ugadi has already amassed whopping 11 million views. Akhanda teaser has recorded all these views in just 24-25 hours.

On the other hand the most awaited RRR’s teaser took 4 whole weeks to get to 7 million views. Apart from this, the RRR ‘ Bheem for Ram ‘ Teaser took 4 weeks to reach 12 Million views. One of the main reasons for these record views is the heavy expectations set on the Balakrishna- Boyapati combo.

Balakrishna can be seen in a never-before avatar in the teaser. His screen presence and dialogue delivery remind us of his heydays where he totally used to dominate the films with a magnifying screen presence.

The movie is the third one in Balakrishna and Boyapati combination after the hugely successful Simha and Legend. This teaser has now taken the expectations of the movie to another level.

Now, Virata Parvam pushes the release date as well

Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi starrer Virata Parvam has become the latest addition to the list of films postponing their release. The movie was scheduled to release on April 30th but now has been further pushed. Love Story, Thalaivi, Tuck Jagadish are some of the upcoming films that pushed their releases indefinitely.

The makers of the movie, Suresh Productions announced the news on their Twitter handle.
“#VirataParvam Release has been postponed. New Release Date soon… Please Mask Up & Stay Safe,” was the Tweet posted by Suresh Productions.

The movie also came under scanner recently for having content glorifying Naxalism. In the wake of recent attacks on our CRPF forces, Anti Terrorism Organisation demanded the stoppage of release of Virata Parvam and Chiranjeevi’s Acharya.

This film, directed by Venu Udugula is based on the Naxalite movement that took place in Telangana in the 1990s. Nandita Das, Priyamani, Nivetha Pethuraj, and Naveen Chandra are playing key roles in this Suresh Productions project. Majority of the shooting took place in the forests of Vikarabad, Warangal and Kerala.

Koratala Siva planning to bring back that actress

Koratala Siva, who is going to direct the prestigious NTR30 after Acharya is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the project gets heavy buzz. It is being reported that he is planning to bring in Kiara Advani as the female lead opposite NTR for this movie.

It was Koratala who had introduced Kiara to Tollywood through the 2018 super hit Bharat Ane Nenu. Post the success of the movie, Kiara was flooded with offers both in Tollywood as well as Bollywood. She will be next seen in Bollywood big-ticket films such as SherShah and Bhool Bhulaiyya 2.

Despite having acted in only a couple of Telugu films, Kiara boasts of a substantial fanbase in Tollywood. Mikkilneni Sudhakar and Kalyan Ram are going to produce the project. Koratala Siva has also announced that the film will be releasing on April 29th, 2022. He has pinned high hopes on this film and is planning to go pan-India this time.

Distributors planning to close theatres

Owing to the recent slabs put on the ticket prices, all of ‘B’ and ‘C’ centre theatres have decided to close theatres across East Godavari district from 16th of this month. A decision on ‘A’ centre theatres will be taken soon. Recently a G.O. was issued placing a slab on the ticket prices on theatres in AP. These theatres were divided into Municipal Corporations, Municipality, Nagar Panchayat, and Gram Panchayat. In fact, the ticket prices in Gram Panchayat have been set as low as Rs 20/-.

This is turning out to be the biggest issue for the distributors. If this situation continues for a while and no amicable agreement is done between the government and distributors, there is a chance of no more new releases for quite some time along with theatres shutting down.

This year, Tollywood is going to witness a number of big-ticket films. The producers and distributors are really counting on them to pull them out of the lean patch brought in by lockdown last year. However, with this G.O., a number of Tollywood biggies will have to struggle really hard to recover their investment with the government-established ticket prices.

Vakeel Saab on Prime Video but not anytime Soon

Pawan Kalyan starrer Vakeel Saab has opened to great reviews and positive word of mouth. The movie is doing well at the box office. Pawan Kalyan’s performance has been well appreciated by all with many even calling it the finest of his career. The movie also turned out to be the biggest opening in Indian cinema post lockdown.

Amazon Prime has grabbed the digital rights of the movie. With the movie performing exceptionally well at the theatres, the digital premiere of the movie might take at least 50 days. This means the movie might release on the OTT towards May end. The movie directed by Venu Sriram has packed enough punches along with the underlying message.

Bankrolled under Sri Venkateswara Creations by Dil Raju, the movie is garnering great applause for Pawan Kalyan and Prakash Raj’s performance. SS Thaman’s background score has also added great value to the film.

Radhe Shyam to be reshot?

With Radhe Shyam nearing the end of its shoot, makers have decided to redo some shots. Apparently, Prabhas after watching the rushes didn’t seem happy with the output. He suggested a reshoot of few scenes in order to get a better feel and quality output on-screen.

According to a source, “Prabhas wanted to better his expressions in certain scenes, and felt that if they are reshot, it would certainly help in enhancing the overall quality of the scenes and thus the film. He is all game to give a few more expressions for the shots. He is expected to come to Hyderabad on Thursday and, in all probabilities, resume shooting for the Radhakrishna-directorial.”

Another final decision infront of the makers is whether to include one more song in the film or not. The distributors apparently feel that adding a visually appealing song would add value to the movie. Reportedly Prabhas too has agreed to this view and a song will mostly be added to blend into the narrative of the movie.

Sreekaram set to stream online

Sharwanand starrer Sreekaram that released last month on 11th is all set to stream on SunNxt from 16th April. Sreekaram, directed by Kishore B sheds light on the plight of farmers and their struggles.

The movie failed to impress the audience and didn’t perform too well at the box office. Critics panned the film for being another run-of-a-mill film on farming that didn’t showcase any new element.

Starring Priyanka Arul Mohan and Sai Kumar in key roles, the film turned out to be a disaster. Almost all the areas recorded losses for the makers. The dialogues were penned by Sai Madhav Burra and Mickey J Meyer composed music for the film. It was bankrolled by 14 Reels Plus studio by Ram Achanta and Gopichand Achanta.
