Ileana’s shocking comments on the film industry

Ileana D’ Cruz, who was once one of the biggest names in the Tollywood and Kollywood industries is of late focussing only on Bollywood. The actress who is gearing up for her next film Unfair And Lovely with Randeep Hooda recently made sensational comments on the world of cinema.

Ileana, speaking on the life of an actor said, ” The film industry is terrible at preserving an actor’s image and career. It exists only as long as the viewers are interested in you and you are the flavour of the season. Once that perishes, you will be chucked away like you never existed. Such is the world of cinema and the same happened to me as well.”

She was talking about how fortunes can change over night and once biggest names in industry can fade into oblivion.

Ileana was last seen in Tollywood opposite Ravi Teja in 2018 film Amar Akbar Anthony. The movie was a disaster at the box-office and she hasn’t worked in Tollywood ever since.

First look of Nikhil’s 18 Pages revealed

On the occasion of his birthday, Geetha Arts, the producers of Nikhil’s upcoming film 18 Pages revealed the first look of the movie. Anupama Parameswaran will star in the lead role opposite Nikhil.

The poster looks quite intriguing and not much has been revealed about the theme of the movie. However, judging from Nikhi’s past few movies, 18 Pages for sure is going to be a different concept.

The movie’s first look poster for sure has caught our attention with its unique portrayal of both Anupama and Nikhil. This will be the first film in which the duo will be paired together.

Palnati Surya Paratap, the director of the film Kumari 21F will be directing this film. Allu Aravind will be bankrolling the film under Geetha Arts banner.

The film’s music is being scored by Gopi Sundar. Navin Nooli who recently won the National Award will be editing the film.

Actress Pranitha gets married in a quiet ceremony

Actress Pranitha Subhash got married to businessman Nitin Raju in a quiet and private ceremony in Bangalore. The ‘Attarintiki Daaredi actress updated her fans on this sudden development through a social media post.

Hailing from Karnataka, Pranitha is quite a well-known face in Telugu cinema. She was a part of Pawan Kalyan’s Attarintiki Daredi. Apart from that she also featured in films like Bava, Rabhasa, Hello Guru Prema Kosame etc.

She says it was a love cum arranged marriage but they were not sure about the wedding day until a day before due to the pandemic situation.

Pranitha took to social media to announce the news. “It is with great happiness that we would like to inform you that we got married on 30th May 2021 in a very intimate ceremony,” she posted on her Instagram page.

The actress further added that the couple would hold a reception once situation becomes normal.

On the occasion of his father Super Star Krishna’s birthday, Mahesh Babu came up with a timely and noble act. He organized a vaccination drive in his adopted village Burripalem in AP. The aim of this vaccination drive was to ensure the maximum number of villagers are educated about the pandemic as well as given vaccination shots.

Mahesh is quite active in giving it back to society through blood donation drives, heart surgeries for children, and various other charitable activities. For the past many years, he, along with Andhra Hospitals are undertaking such initiatives to help the needy

Pawan Kalyan to simultaneously complete two films

Power Star Pawan Kalyan has been a busy man ever since he made his comeback with Vakeel Saab earlier this year. Post-Vakeel Saab, he has lined up some exciting movies and will be working on them back to back. This vigour from their Power Star has made the fans extremely excited.

According to the latest reports, Pawan Kalyan is completely healthy now and is raring to go on sets. He has decided to complete his next two movies Ayyappanum Koshiyum remake and Hari Hara Veera Mallu simultaneously. While the Ayyappanum Koshiyum remake has completed its 50% filming, Hari Hara Veera Mallu is still in its nascent stages. Covid second wave played a spoilsport and stopped the filming of both these films.

Pawan wants to wrap up these two films before moving on to his next projects. He is slated to work with Surender Reddy, Harish Shankar, and JB Entertainments next. The Power Star is planning to resume the shoots on both these films from mid-July. As someone who recently contracted Covid, Pawan wants to take no chances and has asked the producers of these films to ramp up the safety measures.

Leading OTT platform fed up of Tollywood makers

With the pandemic delaying a number of theatrical releases, movie makers who can’t afford to wait for long are going for OTT platforms. Amazon Prime Video, Aha, and Netflix have been the favourite of Tollywood filmmakers for quite some time.

These platforms have dished out some successful and quality films ever since the Covid infused lockdown. With the digital release being the best bet for a number of movie makers right now, Tollywood producers are now being approached by OTTs. Amazon Prime in particular is showing keen interest in movies that are in the final leg or completed.

However, this situation is turning out to be quite troublesome for Amazon in lot of cases. The makers are quoting exorbitant amounts and refusing to come down in many instances. Amazon on the other hand is not finding these rates viable resulting in no deal.

Amazon Prime meanwhile is treading cautiously especially considering the recent past. The OTT giant bought rights for a number of films for direct releases and faced huge losses. The makers and their refusal to budge despite having a smaller film with no big names and USP are causing the streaming platform to avoid Tollywood in most cases.

Teja to star in Hanuman?

Director Prasanth Varma is on the verge of creating a new cinematic universe. And as a part of this cinematic universe, he announced his net venture- Hanuman. Touted to be the first original superhero film in Telugu, this film’s first look has impressed the netizens.

While no further details regarding the movie’s starcast have been announced yet, there are reports that young actor Teja Sajja ha been approached for this film. Teja debuted with Prasanth Varma’s film Zombie Reddy earlier this year. The movie turned out to be a hit and Teja successfully proved his acting credentials with this zombie- comedy film.

Prasanth is known for bringing fresh concepts to the screen. He made an impressive debut in 2018 with multi-starrer anthology Awe, which was a totally different experience for the Telugu audience. He later went on to make action thriller Kalki with Dr Rajasekhar. Kalki impressed audience and critics for its different portrayal. 2021 saw the young director bring Zombies to the Telugu screen for the first time.

Super hero films are hugely popular in Hollywood. Even Bollywood and Kollywood have made a few films on this subject. It would be interesting how Varma mixes mythology with fiction this time around.
