Akhanda climax shoot starts in Tamil Nadu

Balakrishna starrer Akhanda is nearing its completion with the much-hyped climax portions being shot right now. The climax fight will be shot at a temple in Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu and the makers recently sought permission to shoot at the scenic temple premises.

The film was earlier scheduled to release on May 28 according to original plans. However, it had to be postponed indefinitely due to the Covid second wave. Boyapati Srinu recently revealed that the makers are being watchful at the moment as there is an impending risk of the Covid third wave as well. The unit has decided to release the film only after it is safe and everything eases.

The movie is the third one in the combination of Balakrishna and the director after Simha and Legend. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what kind of intense action the duo has packed in the film. Adding to this, the teasers of the movie have also taken the hype around the movie to great heights.

Akhanda stars Pragya Jaiswal in the lead role opposite Balakrishna. Dwaraka Entertainments banner will be bankrolling this fantasy action drama.

Vijay Antony to turn director for Bichagadu 2

On the occasion of his 45th birthday, Vijay Antony unveiled the first look of his upcoming film Pichaikkaran 2 (Bicchagadu 2). Vijay will turn director with this film and has also written the story of the sequel himself.

Released in 2016, Bichagadu was a massive success in Telugu states and ended up as one of the most successful movies of the years. Post the film, Vijay’s market grew rapidly in AP and Telangana and made way to a number of his films in Telugu

The story of Bichagadu revolves around a millionaire who decides to give up his rich life and turn into a beggar to save the abiding medical condition of his mother after a sage advised him to do so.

“Even though I haven’t worked as an assistant director to someone, I am confident that I will direct this film well. Also, I am not taking any pressure. Just like the first part, I want this to be a good film. We will be shooting in Dubai, Georgia, Chennai, and Calcutta. This will be a big-budget film,” said the actor-music composer on the occasion.

Bichagadu 2 shooting will start today in Chennai and the rest of the details of the cast and crew will be announced soon.

Khiladi shoot to start from July 26th

Ravi Teja’s much-awaited action thriller Khiladi’s shoot will resume on July 26th. The movie was scheduled to release earlier this year but has seen multiple delays due to the pandemic. Director Ramesh Verma and Ravi Teja took to social media to share the update with a new poster.

The film was initially supposed to release in May but the Covid second wave played spoilsport. Now it has once again affected the film’s shoot which is gearing towards the final schedule.

The unit of Ravi Teja’s Khiladi were supposed to fly down to Dubai to shoot a couple of songs and scenes there. However, this isn’t possible at the moment as Dubai Consulate hasn’t yet started the visa application process. The unit will now shoot for a couple of songs and some fight sequences in a specially erected set in Hyderabad instead of flying to Dubai.

Directed by Ramesh Verma, Ravi Teja will be seen in a dual role in this action thriller. The movie is produced jointly by Satyanarayana Koneru and Ramesh Varma under the banner of A Studios LLP. It stars Dimple Hayathi, Unni Mukundan, Arjun Sarja and Meenakshi Chaudhary in key roles.

Prabhas- Nag Ashwin movie shoot starts

The shooting of Prabhas – Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi film started today at the Ramoji Film City. The film went on floors with a pooja ceremony and Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan was also a part of this ceremony. Deepika Padukone will be playing lead alongside Prabhas in what is being termed as a ‘pan-world’ film.

Taking to social media, Amitabh Bachchan posted the movie update but kept the other details of this Prabhas- Nag Ashwin film hidden.

It was announced just last year that Big B would be playing a key role in this film. There are unconfirmed reports that he will play the role of a scientist in this mega-budget fantasy film. The untitled flick went on floors today without any prior announcement. Reports suggest that this will be a short schedule in Hyderabad.

The present schedule will be 5 days long and some scenes would be shot on Big B during this period. Nag Ashwin’s film will be completely a new genre that was never seen in Tollywood. This film will be produced by Ashwini Dutt under his banner Vyjayanthi Movie.

Proud Allu Arjun wishes brother

Icon Star Allu Arjun visited the sets of sports action drama Ghani and met with the crew earlier today. Kiran Korrapati is directing this movie which stars Varun Tej in the lead role. Saiee Manjrekar, Sunil Shetty, Upendra, and Jagapathy Babu will be essaying key roles in this film.

Allu Arjun visited the sets to wish his brother Allu Bobby and brother-in-law Sidhu Mudda success for their debut production. Sidhu Mudda and Allu Bobby have jointly produced the film under the banners of Renaissance Pictures and Allu Bobby Company.

Taking to social media, the ‘Pushpa’ star wished the duo and expressed immense pride on the occasion.

A special boxing ring set was erected recently in a Hyderabad studio to shoot some crucial boxing shots for the film. Ghani is nearing completion and according to reports, AHA has signed a deal of a whopping Rs 24 crores. This deal includes both digital as well as satellite rights.

“We have been waiting for the ticketing to be opened to Dubai, and looks like that may happen in the first week of August. But we are not sure how many of the crew will get visas. Naga Chaitanya gearing up for OTT debut

Looks like the Akkineni family has completely embraced the OTT wave that’s on right now. Firstly, it was Samantha who impressed in Aha’s Sam Jam and Amazon Prime’s Family Man 2 . This was followed by Nagarjuna who recently confirmed that he is doing a movie exclusively for an OTT platform. Now, Naga Chaitanya will also soon enter the OTT sphere with a film produced by Sharath Marrar.

The discussions for this project were going on for quite some time and now finally the makers and Naga Chaitanya have locked a subject. The team is now looking for a young crew who can handle this subject with the sensitivity and required lens of an OTT release.

The young actor will join the project once he finishes his commitments with Amir Khan’s Lal Singh Chaddha and Thank You. Vikram K Kumar is directing Thank You which also stars Rashi Khanna in the lead role opposite ‘Chay’.

Naga Chaitanya is also slated to feature in Bangaruraju, starring Nagarjuna.

Nithiin’s Check performs better than Rang De

Nithiin’s Check has outperformed his other release of the year Rang De in its World Television premiere. While Rang De garnered a TRP of 7.22, Check managed a higher TRP of 8.53.

The Chandra Sekhar Yelei directed movie premiered on July 11th on Gemini TV and turned out to be successful in capturing the TV audience nearly 5 months after its theatrical release.

Nithiin’s Check which opened up with mixed reports and poor word of mouth failed to sustain at the Box-office. It registered average openings on Day 1 as the makers failed to create buzz and couldn’t promote well. The pre-release business of this movie is 16.8Crs and the closing collections were around 8.67Crs only.

The movie also starred Rakul Preet Singh and Priya Prakash Varrier in lead roles. The music was scored by Kalyani Malik and it was bankrolled by Bhavya Creations. The year has not been so good for Nithiin with both his films Check and Rang De failing to impress audiences and critics alike.

No clarity over Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam

Prabhas currently has a bunch of films that are in making right now Salaar, Aadipurush, Nag Ashwin directorial, and Radhe Shyam. Out of these, Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam will be the first one to release. However, it is this film that is bringing maximum confusion to movie lovers and fans.

One of the main reasons for this is the lack of updates on the film and re-shoot of some crucial scenes further delaying the completion.

The movie shoot has already been postponed twice due to the pandemic and has caused more delays. Adding to this, the fans complain that apart from a teaser that was released earlier this year and some posters, nothing much is revealed as of now.

Presently, Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam is nearing completion and lack of any clarity and updates over the last schedule is causing further agony to fans. Radhe Shyam makers are keeping their cards close to their chest and are in no mood for revealing anything except for the fact that the film will be a huge surprise for Prabhas’ fans.

The romantic drama was set to hit the screens in July, but Covid second wave altered the plans and makers are looking for an October release.

Pooja Hegde for Dhanush Tollywood movie?

After signing a film with Sekhar Kammula, Dhanush has also okayed a project with Venky Atluri. Reportedly, Venky is taking a new route this time around his movie would not be a usual rom-com that he usually directs. This movie is going to be rooted in reality and totally different from his previous films. This film will be bilingual and will go on. floors soon.

According to the buzz, Pooja Hegde is considered for the lead role opposite Dhanush. Venky’s previous films Tholiprema, Mr. Majnu, and RangDe were romantic comedies with a light-hearted approach towards life. The upcoming Dhanus-Venky film will be more in Dhanush style.

Reportedly, Dhanush will be portraying the role of a social crusader taking on the education system. This will be a serious subject and it needs to be seen how the young director handles it.

“As Pooja is known for both performance and glamour, Venky is keen to cast her as Dhanush’s pair. However, the actor is yet to give her consent and a clear picture will emerge in the coming days,” said a source close to the development.

Pooja is currently busy shooting for Vijay’s Tamil action entertainer Beast. Her other films including Chiranjeevi-starrer Acharya, Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam and Akhil Akkineni’s rom-com Most Eligible Bachelor are in the final stages of production.
