Akhanda heading towards wrap-up.

The shooting of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda is heading towards completion. The unit wrapped up the shoot of the climax portions and fights in Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu earlier this month. The makers had sought special permissions to shoot the climax fights in the temple premises and its said to be one of the biggest highlights of the movie.

Around 10-12 days of shoot is left with and the makers are looking to release the action thriller in the 1st or 2nd week of October.

The film was earlier scheduled to release on May 28 according to original plans. However, it had to be postponed indefinitely due to the Covid second wave. The unit has decided to release the film only after it is safe and everything eases.

The movie is the third one in the combination of Balakrishna and the director after Simha and Legend. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what kind of intense action the duo has packed in the film. Adding to this, the teasers of the movie have also taken the hype around the movie to great heights.

Akhanda stars Pragya Jaiswal in the lead role opposite Balakrishna. Dwaraka Entertainments banner will be bankrolling this fantasy action drama.

Gully Rowdy postponed from September 3rd

Sundeep Kishan starrer Gully Rowdy has pushed its release date from September 3rd to 17th. Kona Venkat, whose Kona Film Corporation is bankrolling the project took to social media and made the announcement. The writer/producer said that team made the decision to create a healthy atmosphere for other releases.

Gopichand and Tamannah starter Seetimarr will also be releasing on September 3rd. This will be followed by Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya’s Love Story on September 10th.

It was earlier rumoured that Gully Rowdy will be releasing on OTT. However, the recent success of small releases has promoted the makers to release it theatrically.

Rajendra Prasad, Posani Krishna Murali, and Vennela Kishore co-star in this film, and all of them look in great nick in the trailer released earlier. G Nageswara Reddy, who’s known for the comedy genre is wielding the megaphone for this movie. This will be his second collaboration with Sandeep after Tenali Ramakrishna BA. BL.

Sridevi Soda Center rakes in positive censor talk

Sudheer Babu starrer Sridevi Soda Center completed its censor formalities today. The film has created a good buzz and the trailer released by Superstar Mahesh Babu has received a positive response with Sudheer Babu’s performance garnering special applause.

The censor report has been overall great and the fights have come out really well and will be one of the USPs of the film. Along with the fights, emotional scenes featuring Naresh as the heroine’s father also add great value to the film. With a runtime of 2hour 34 minutes, the story is a perfect mix of mass elements and emotions and the last 30 minutes will be the highlight of the film.

Sudheer Babu’s performance is reportedly one of the main draws of the film and his performance in emotional as well as action scenes are going to be his career best. As per inside sources, the film is going to be a turning point in the young actor’s career.

Sridevi Soda Center has done a terrific pre-release business and has done the highest biz post the second wave. Directed by Karuna Kumar of Palasa 1978 fame, the music is scored by Mani Sharma. Sridevi Soda Center features Naresh and Satyam Rajesh in other pivotal roles. It is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on August 27.

Seetimarr to hit the screens on 3rd September

Gopichand and Tamannah starrer Seetimarr has finally got a release date. Directed by Sampath Nandi, Seetimarr was earlier scheduled to release on April 2nd but ran into multiple financial troubles and lockdown-related delays. The makers are now planning to release the action entertainer on September 3rd.

The movie has failed to create any buzz and recently there were reports of Seetimarr going for an OTT release. However with the theatres opening up the makers have decided to go with a theatrical release. The two songs- ‘Jwala Reddy’ and ‘Pepsi Aunty’ that have been released so far have received a dull reception. 

Gopichand will be playing a Kabaddi coach in the film produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi under Srinivasaa Silver Screen.

Bell Bottom results worry Tollywood biggies

Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited film Bell Bottom hit the screens last week and the results have been anything but desirable. The movie opened to below-par occupancies all over with some areas even reporting single-digit occupancies. The collections also have been quite disappointing for a release featuring an A-level star of Bollywood.

Bell Bottom’s sub-par reception has got makers of upcoming pan-India films worried. Films like RRR, Pushpa and KGF are some of the biggies that will be having a massive pan-India release.

With rising Covid cases and 50% occupancies still applicable in many states, releasing movies at the moment doesn’t look like a smart option. Adding to this, the chances of the upcoming 3rd wave are causing further concerns for the producers.

Pushpa is scheduled for Christmas 2021 release while KGF will release on 14th April 2022. SS Rajamouli’s RRR hasn’t locked a release date yet but would definitely a lot of discussions are on for a safe date. Presently, a lot of Bollywood biggies have also pushed their releases indefinitely while others are going for OTT releases.

Parasuram- Naga Chaitanya is up and ready!

Director Parasuram shot into the big league with the massive success of Geetha Govindam with Vijay Devarakonda. It was recently announced that he will be directing Naga Chaitanya next and the venture will be bankrolled by 14 Reels Plus. Billed as NC20, recently reports emerged that the movie has now been shelved as Parasuram is focussing on Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata.

The rumours of Naga Chaitanya film being shelved have become stronger after another buzz came out that Icon Star Allu Arjun has also okayed a script under Geeta Arts banner for the director. This lack of clarity from Parasuram’s side also angered Nagarjuna to great extent.

However, as per inside sources, the movie has not been shelved and is pretty much on. The real reason for Parasuram not going ahead with NC20 is that he is keen on directing Mahesh Babu. According to sources, the director got a green signal from Mahesh Babu following which he has decided to delaythe film he had prepared for Naga Chaitanya.

This delay could well be a blessing in disguise for Chaitu as presently he is working on Sekhar Kammula’s Love Stor which is carrying positive vibes. If Love Story becomes a big hit as it is expected to be, working with Parasuram who would be fresh out of a biggie like Sarkaru Vaari Paata would add great strength to NC20.

Parasuram- Naga Chaitanya film will go on floors post Sarkaru Vaari Paata and will be up for release in 2022.

Allu Arjun is the only present Mega Star: RGV

Ram Gopal Varma, who is known to make sensational statements on Twitter has done it again. The director also made some comments on the Megastar Chiranjeevi birthday celebrations that took place at his house. Speaking on the gathering, RGV commended Allu Arjun for not attending the gathering as he is a self-made star, unlike others.

Allu Arjun was busy in the shoot of Pushpa and couldn’t attend the celebrations and conveyed his wishes to Chiru on Twitter.

Ram Gopal Verma also made some unsavoury comments on the Mega Family and termed the mega heroes as ‘parasites’.

These comments have not gone with Mega fans who have launched barrage of attacks on Ram Gopal Verma, with many even reminding him of the recent attack on his house.

Nagarjuna releases trailer of Sushanth’s Ichata Vahanamulu Niluparadu

Young hero Sushanth’s wholesome action thriller Ichata Vahanamulu Niluparadu has completed all the formalities, including censor and it is due for release on 27th of this month. Promotions are in full swing and the trailer was released a while ago by Nagarjuna.

The trailer looks promising with an intriguing story and engaging narration. It’s a complete package as it has all the commercial elements. Though it’s his first film, director S Darshan has impressed with the subject and unique treamtent of the film.

The trailer follows the chaos in a colony where a batch of goons and police are after Sushanth who went to meet his girlfriend played by Meenakshi Chaudhary.

M Sukumar’s camera work is commendable, while Praveen Lakkaraju’s background score takes the visuals to next level. Vennela Kishore will be seen in a hilarious role in the movie whereas Priyadarshi and Abhinav Gomatam roles will be a big surprise.

SR Kalyanamandapam will premiere on Aha on August 28th

It’s raining OTT releases for the recently released films. After Satyadev’s Thimmarusu, Kiran Abbavaram’s SR Kalyanamandapam will also be releasing on OTT within a month of its theatrical release. SR Kalyanamandapam will premiere on Aha n August 28th.

The movie received decent reviews and was a success at the box office. The film collected around 1.23Cr on its 1st day from AP/TS. The film also featuring Sai Kumar, Tulasi, and Tanikella Bharani registered house fulls in many centers and was off to a flying start. 

The music of the film was one of the major appealing factor of the film and helped the film is doing well despite 50% occupancy restrictions in AP. Now it needs to be seen if the film attracts a digital audience as well.

The film did a great pre-release business as well and with good collections from all over, it turned out to be the first hit after Covid’s second wave.
