Venkatesh and Rana coming together for an exciting web series

Venkatesh and Rana will be soon seen in a web series for Netflix. Titled RanaNaidu, the show is an adaptation of the American crime drama ‘Ray Donovan’. The show is a hugely popular one and has broken multiple viewership records and picked up a number of awards.

Venkatesh and Rana will be pitted against each other and will be based on their rivalry and clashes. Taking to Twitter, the Drushyam actor made the announcement of the show.

This will be the second time the duo will be sharing the screen. The last time the two were seen together was in Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum back in 2012, when Venkatesh appeared for a special song.

Naga Chaitanya makes the much-awaited announcement

Looks like the Akkineni family has completely embraced the OTT wave that’s on right now. Firstly, it was Samantha who impressed in Aha’s Sam Jam and Amazon Prime’s Family Man 2 . This was followed by Nagarjuna who recently confirmed that he is doing a movie exclusively for an OTT platform. Now, Naga Chaitanya will also soon enter the OTT sphere with a film produced by Sharath Marrar.

The discussions for this project were going on for quite some time and now finally the makers and Naga Chaitanya have locked a subject. The ‘Love Story’ actor will mark his OTT debut with a web series that will be directed by Vikram K Kumar. Interestingly, the show will be a horror series and Chaitu will be playing a negative role.

The young actor will join the project once he finishes his commitments with Amir Khan’s Lal Singh Chaddha and Thank You. Naga Chaitanya is also slated to feature in Bangaruraju, starring Nagarjuna.

Yet another disappointing news to Tollywood fans in AP

It is known that the AP Government is showing enthusiasm for Tollywood movie tickets and the movie business as a whole for quite some time now. The state government has expressed discontentment over the fan shows, benefit shows, film ticket prices in AP. Whereas on the other hand, the Telugu film industry is facing several other issues in terms of its releases.

As per the latest G.O, the AP government has invited proposals for developing a new movie ticketing which will be maintained by its own body. WIth multiple changes happening in movie ticketing and AP government ordering strict guidelines on ticket prices, looks like the Benefit show hungama will soon come to an end in AP.

Film producer C.Kalyan, who bankrolls films under his CK Entertainments Private Limited said that the benefit shows will be stopped in the state as the taxes that are meant to be paid to the government are not paid for the government. A delegation of Tollywood producers met AP I&PR minister Perni Nani where this decision was made.

Samantha moving to Mumbai?

A representation of Telugu film producers met Andhra Pradesh I&PR Minister Perni Nani over the ticket issue today. Speaking at the meeting senior producer C Kalyan pointed out the current rates as per G.O would make it absolutely difficult for the revenue generation and creating profits for all.

The producer further admitted that the numbers mentioned on the posters of the films are often fake and barring a couple of films, most fail anyway. This is done in order to attract people to theatres. Just because there is a number on the poster, it doesn’t mean the movie actually collected that much.

He also welcomed the government’s decision to implement an online ticketing portal which would make it easier for revenue collection.

C Kalyan compared the scenario in other states such as Karnataka and Maharashtra where prices for tickets over the weekend are higher while the same on weekdays come down. “That situation is not here in Telugu states hence it would be great if the government looks towards the plight of the Telugu producers and provides us with similar flexibility,” he added.
