Sarkaru Vaari Paata set for April 1 release

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata is one of the most anticipated upcoming Tollywood biggie. The SVP blaster has taken the hype much higher and the fans are now eager for more. Republic to stream on Zee 5 from this date

Sai Dharam Tej’s political action drama Republic released last month failed to impress the audience. The movie, despite the presence of a stellar supporting cast and an impressive backdrop couldn’t live up to the hype and ended up as a flop at the box office.

Republic will now make its digital premiere this month on Zee5. The movie will stream from 26th November onwards on the OTT platform. The movie was well appreciated for its dialogues and Ramya Krishna’s stellar performance.

This Deva Katta-directed political drama is an action-packed commentary on the Indian democratic system and how politicians yield supreme power over the civil servants and courts. Sai Dharam Tej is playing an IAS officer Abhiram Panja in the film who clashes with Ramya Krishna who is essaying the role of a wily political leader.

Adivi Sesh’s Major releasing on February 11

Adivi Sesh’s Major has completed its entire shooting part and they have also come up with a Major update, a day prior to Diwali. Offering glimpses into the making of the film, the video showed the wonderful journey of the team shooting for this magnum opus. The makers have announced to release the movie on February 11, 2022.

It took 120 shoot days and the film was canned in 8 sets, 75 locations and 3 languages. Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s life, his love and his legacy are shown in the video. Adivi Sesh’s transformation from a teenager to a brave army man is impeccable. Every promotional content of the movie is further hiking expectations and this making video too promises visual opulence on screen.

Based on the life of martyr Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, Major celebrates the heroics of the army officer’s life, not only depicting his death at the 26/11 Mumbai attacks but also tracing his journey and embracing the spirit with which he lived.

Revealing the teaser earlier, the team of Adivi Sesh’s Major scaled the varied phases of Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s life, from his childhood, teenage to the glorious years in the army. The teaser created huge anticipation and excitement for the war drama.

Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, the multilingual film starring Adivi Sesh, Sobhita Dhulipala and Saiee Manjrekar will be released in Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam.

The film is being produced by Sony Pictures Films India in association with Mahesh Babu’s GMB Entertainment and A+S Movies.

October month Tollywood releases verdict

The month of October was a busy month for Tollywood and saw a number of small and medium budget Tollywood releases. Of these film’s Akhil’s Most Eligible Bachelor was the most awaited one as it has been getting delayed for months. The movie was an above-average fare at the box office.

Varun Doctor, the dubbed version of Sivakarthikeyan’s Doctor, and Roshan and Sree Leela starter Pelli SandaD were the only hits from the month. Both these movies performed well and managed to attract the audience.

Varudu Kaavalenu, that released on 29th October is performing rather poorly and is heading towards a disaster status. Akash Puri’s Romantic that released on the same day was also panned by the audience and will end up as a below-average to flop project.

Other Tollywood releases that hit the screen in October such as Mahasamudram, Kondapolam, Idhe Mee katha , Republic, Natyam, Aaradugula Bullet all ended up as flops at the box-office.

Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe worldwide advance bookings update

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe mania is slowly spreading all over. The movie is all set to release on 4th November for Diwali and the buzz around the movie has been massive. The film, however, is set to be the biggest Tamil release overseas with a total of 1119 screens.

The advance booking status across all areas though has been mixed. As expected, the advanced booking status for Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe in Tamil Nadu is quite good. While the same can’t be said about other states like AP, Telangana and Karnataka. Here the bookings are quite low despite the festival release advantage. The film needs a blockbuster talk for Hit status at the current scenario.

Usually, a Rajini film in Telugu states by default performs well on the bookings part. However, this time the story is different.

The booking status in other countries are very good with Sun Pictures planning a massive release in overseas. Annaatthe is releasing in Telugu as ‘Peddanna’. Nayanthara is the leading lady opposite Superstar Rajinikanth, while Meena, Khushbu, Keethy Suresh, Jagapathi Babu, and Prakash Raj will be seen in important roles.

Santosh Shoban and Mehreen Pirzada starrer Manchi Rojulochaie is all set to hit the screens on 4th November. The movie’s trailer dropped in recently and it appears to be a typical Maruthi-style entertainer. The movie was shot in a shockingly short span of time. However, what’s even more shocking is the value at which theatrical rights have gone for.

The theatrical rights of the movie are valued at Rs 9 cr – Rs 10 cr. This, despite the buzz around the movie being dull and extremely weak advance bookings.

The only scope for the Manchi Rojulochaie to perform is a positive talk that could draw the audience to the theatres. The movie is packed with comedians such as Vennela Kishore, Sapthagiri, Sudershan, Srinivas Reddy, and Praveen. Ajay Ghosh plays a central character in the film and will be seen as Mehreen’s father.

Annaatthe- Biggest ever Tamil film release overseas

Superstar Rajinikanth mania is spreading all over. With only two days to go for Annaatthe release, the hype is at an all-time high. This Rajinikanth starter has done a superb business overseas and will release in 1119 screens just in overseas. This feat will make Annaatthe the biggest ever Tamil release in the overseas market ever.

Out of these, 572 screens are located in the US, while Europe and Malaysia stand at 135 and 110 locations respectively.

Ahead of the release, the movie has crossed the $250k pre-sales. By doing so Annaatthe is now all set to collect a 2021 highest premieres gross. Sun Pictures is handling the overseas release and the movies all areas of business is now closed for record figures.
