Akhanda joins Rs 1 crore club in AMB Cinemas

Balakrishna’s Akhanda is breaking one milestone after another. This much anticipated Balayya- Boyapati combo film has been performing consistently both at domestic as well as overseas box- office.

Akhanda has now added another feather to its cap. This Balakrishna- Pragya Jaiswal starter has now grossed Rs 1 crore from AMB Cinemas. The top movies at the AMB Cinemas are as follows.

Akhanda has also been performing consistently well at overseas right from premieres. This Balayya starrer became the 1st Boyapati film to cross the $200K mark in USA premiers, his previous best was Sarainodu which hit the $197 k mark

Balakrishna’s Akhanda grossed $300,580 from 230 locations through US Premieres. The additional cast featured Srikanth as protagonist and Jagapathi Babu in a key role. Akhanda stars Pragya Jaiswal as the female lead and released worldwide on December 2nd.

The movie is bankrolled by Miryala Ravinder Reddy under Dwaraka Creations banner.

Parusaram wants another release date for Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata is slated to release on April 1st, 2022. This date has been fixed after much thought and after changing the initial plan of a Sankranti release. However, with some crucial padding work remaining on the film, Parasuram is now keen to look for an alternative release date.

At the moment, around 45 days of regular shoot is still remaining and this looks quite unlikely to happen between February 1st to April. The first half shoot has been completed and the entire unit is quite happy with the output. It’s the second half that requires some reshoots. The reshoots primarily feature the additional cast of the film.

Apart from this, the shooting of some crucial second-half scenes and 2 songs are still remaining. The Sarkaru Vaari Paata team is looking to complete all these in the 45 days schedule.

The entire unit including is focussed on the April 1st release for Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata. Parasuram, however, feels that with such tight deadlines, it will be ideal to go for a May release. Both Mahesh and Parasuram are not taking any rushed decisions and are placing quality above everything else.

Three cinema theatres shut down by Joint Collector in Vizianagaram

As a part of surprise inspections being carried out on cinema theatres across Andhra Pradesh, Vizianagaram Joint Collector Dr. Kishore Kumar inspected and ordered the seizure of three theatres in the region.

The joint collector first went on a surprise inspection of Sai Krishna theatre in Vizianagaram. On his surprise visit, he found that the theatre management had not renewed the fire safety license since 2015. The JC expressed severe displeasure on this and ordered the immediate closure of the theatre premises.

Next, he visited the Gopala Krishna theatre and S3 cinemas. The collector found that the management was selling tickets for more than the government-ordered rates. He immediately ordered the seizure of these two premises as well.

The Andhra Pradesh government has taken serious cognizance of the mismanagement of cinema theatres in the state. The government is also taking issue of ticket prices quite seriously and conducting surprise checks.

The government has also not been willing to go back on the price rates for quite some time. This decision has put the producers and exhibitors in a spot of bother as they are already reeling under losses due to Covid enforced lockdown.

Pushpa: The Rise and the subsequent fall

Icon Star Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise got off to a stunning start at the box office last week. Such has been the anticipation for the film that it broke many existing records across multiple territories. The film opened to mixed talk and average reviews. This, however, didn’t stop the movie from putting massive figures through the first weekend.

For example, Pushpa has already established many all-time records including the opening day Nizam record. The film has surpassed Prabhas’ Saaho to set this benchmark.

Pushpa: The Rise is not just doing great in Telugu, but also in its Hindi version across the north market. In the process, this Allu Arjun starter has outperformed KGF which also was a massive success in the Hindi market. KGF’s 1st weekend in Hindi raked in a net of Rs 9 cr while Pushpa has already breached the Rs 10 cr mark for the opening weekend.

While this is a great sign for Sukumar and team, there is a worrying trend that has just started. After a super successful weekend, the Telugu version of the film has started seeing drops. The occupancy levels have seen a drastic downfall and if it continues the same way, breakeven would be extremely tough especially in Andhra and overseas.

Despite not so good promotions, Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam is doing great business all over. The premier of this movie is going to be screened at World’s largest screen in Melbourne, Australia.

The premier screening will be done on 14th of January and prebookings of the same were opened 3 days back. The show is already more than eighty eight percent filled.

This is really huge. Prabhas has garnered huge craze across the world and although the promotions were not that good, movie got huge buzz.

Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam is directed by Radha Krishna- fame of Jil. The music director of this movie are different in South and Hindi languages. We can see Aashiqui fame Mithoon offering music for movie in Hindi.

In Telugu, Dear Comrade fame Justin Prabhakaran is offering music to the movie. The re-recording is done by Thaman. Movie is produced by UV creations and is going to be released across the world in large scale.

We are going to see Krishnam Raju garu in an important role in the movie. It looks like Radhe Shyam is a movie blended with all things good and unique at the same time. As of now all the songs released in this movie are big hits.

Dil Raju locks the best possible date for F3

Venkatesh & Varun Tej’s F3 is now all set to release on April 29th. The film was earlier slated to release on Sankranti and later moved to February 25th. Hence this is not the first time F3 shifted from its original release date.

By going for an April 29th release Dil Raju has played a masterstroke. Firstly, there are no big releases in May 2022. Secondly, the preceding Monday would fall on Ramzan meaning a long opening weekend is on cards. With the summer season all open, Dil Raju has gone for a perfect date for this comedy entertainer.

Anil Ravipudi is making sure the film is a fun-filled ride from start to end. Both Venkatesh and Varun Tej will have different mannerisms and body language in F3.

Tamannaah Bhatia and Mehreen Pirzada will continue with their roles from F2, while Sunil is roped in for a crucial role. The film also boasts a stellar supporting cast and features Raghu Babu, Ali, Vennela Kishore among others.

The shift in the F3 release date is a part of mutual understanding between the film makers. Bheemla Nayak makers have responded positively to RRR and Radhe Shaym Makers and moved the film to 25th February. Similarly, F3 makers have accommodated Bheemla Nayak and shifter to this new release date.

Pan India films RRR and Radhe Shyam makers next crucial move

Now that Bheemla Nayak is out of the race, Sankranti films- RRR and Radhe Shyam are all set to release their movies. Although all things look settled, ticket prices issue in Andhra Pradesh is still bothersome.

As both of these movies are high budget films with so much at stake, the producers are planning to meet Perni Nani and discuss about the pricing as well as shows.

The producers are planning to ask a reasonable hike and 6 shows to be screened until Sankranti festival. These two requests aren’t that tough to consider.

As they are aiming to ask for a reasonable hike, Andhra Pradesh government may take this into consideration. However nothing is clear until they meet and get the permission.

As of now the box office situation in Andhra Pradesh isn’t that good. Despite having good run and great foot falls, movies are ending up with some minor losses here and there. This is not something movies like RRR and Radhe Shyam can afford.

The prebusiness for both of these movies has been done on huge scale and to recover the amount, they will need hike. We all have to hope that their meeting with Perni Nani will be successful and they get considerable hike for the movies.

Rajamouli Thanked Mahesh Babu for postponing Sarkaru Vaari Paata

Rajamouli has lit fire on Twitter with his tweet today. With Bheemla Nayak being postponed, we are going to see only two biggies- RRR and Radheshyam arriving for this Sankranti. It indeed is a good news for producers and audience too.

Rajamouli started putting up tweets thanking the people who made RRR release easy. The first tweet in these series of tweets was addressed to Mahesh Babu. He said and I quote- “.@urstrulyMahesh was the one who took the initative in decluttering the Pongal releases… Even though #SarkaruVaariPaata was a perfect Pongal film, he moved it to summer and created a healthy atmosphere. Thanks to my Hero 🙂 and also to the entire team at @MythriOfficial…”

Thanking Mahesh is one thing but calling him My hero made Mahesh fans emotional and happy too. Rajamouli is hinting that his next movie is going to be with Mahesh Babu.

This isn’t the first time Mahesh postponed his movie to accomodate a biggie. He already did it for Bahubali 1 by postponing Srimanthudu and now we see him doing the same with Sarkaru Vaari Paata. Mahesh fans are beaming with pride as they see Rajamouli applauding him.
