DJ Tillu jumps into the Sankranti race

After the postponement of RRR, a number of shuffles are happening in the Tollywood upcoming releases. First, the Bheemla Nayak team conducted a quick meeting to assess their preparedness for Sankranti. And now, Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s DJ Tillu has jumped into the Sankranti race.

The teaser of DJ Tillu was released a couple of months back and its makers have been contemplating an appropriate release date. Now with the Sankranti period freeing up slightly, they made a quick announcement. The romantic comedy will now release on 14th January.

Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam is also hitting the theatres the same day. It needs to be seen if this sudden decision is a wise one or not.

The story and dialogues are penned by the actor himself while the screenplay has been developed along with Vimal Krishna. Sithara Entertainments is producing the film and barring a song, the entire shoot is completed.

Neha Shetty plays Siddhu’s love interest, while Prince Cecil will be seen in a vital role in the film produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi.

Sri Charan Pakala has rendered tunes and Navin Nooli and Avinash Kolla take care of editing and art departments respectively.

Update about Bheemla Nayak team meeting

After the postponement of SS Rajamouli’s RRR, the Bheemla Nayak team sprung into action and conducted a quick meeting to assess the situation. The team wanted to consider whether it would be viable to prepone the release and come for Sankranti as originally planned.

Currently, around 8 days of shooting is balance and all these scenes are crucial ones to be shot on Pawan Kalyan himself. Post this, there would be editing works and some balance portions from Thaman. Hence it won’t be possible to complete all this work in such a short period of time and come for Sankranti.

The Bheemla Nayak team is feeling absolutely dejected at this missed opportunity. The unit would have loved to release the action entertainer for Sankranti. Insiders feel that had the RRR team made the decision to postpone even slightly earlier, we would have definitely seen a Pawan Kalyan Sankranti.

The RRR team meanwhile made an official announcement on the postponement of their pan-India project. While the RRR unit is equally disappointed, it was a decision taken in the best interest of all the stakeholders.

Nani’s Zeroth look from Ante Sundaraniki is out now, and it promises yet another interesting movie from Nani. The 48-second video titled “Zeroth Look Of Sundar” showcases Nani in a completely different avatar.

From the video, Nani is introduced to us as K.P.V.S.S.P.R Sundara Prasad, a devotee of Lord Hanuman and a believer of horoscopes, star signs, and everything to do with astrology.

The Zeroth look also shows us a suitcase and locations from around the USA. This could mean the film is about the journey of Sundar when he leaves for the USA, and how he upholds his native beliefs.

Vivek Athreya who has directed gems like Mental Madhilo and Brochevarevarura has directed the movie. This film promises to be another comedic entertainer from the promising young director.

Nani is currently enjoying the success of Shyam Singha Roy which has impressed both the general audience as well as critics.

The movie also stars Nazriya Nazim Fahadh, Suhas, Harsh Vardhan among others. Leading producers Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar will be producing the film under Mythri Movies. Music is by Vivek Sagar who has scored music for movies like Raja Raja Chora, Brochevarevarura, etc. Raviteja Girijala is the editor of the movie.

Siva Karthikeyan And Anudeep Movie Confirmed

The much-rumored Siva Karthikeyan and Anudeep KV movie has now finally been confirmed. The makers of the film posted a concept trailer confirming the news.

The concept trailer shows a pigeon traveling from London to Pondicherry. The trailer covers famous monuments like the London Eye, Big Ben, and the London Bridge. From the looks of it, Siva Karthikeyan will probably play a man who comes back from London to India.

The background score of the trailer is peppy and fun inducing, giving the audience a hint of things to come.

Anudeep KV is going to be directing this film, who absolutely hit it out of the park with Jathi Ratnalu. The film broke records at the time and went on to become a box office blockbuster.

Siva Karthikeyan is also riding on the success of DOCTOR, which was a success in both the Tamil and Telugu versions. This will definitely give an added boost to the producers due to Siva Karthikeyan’s market in the two Telugu states.

The film is being produced by leading producers, Suresh Productions, SVCLLP, Puskur Ram Mohan Rao, and Shanti Talkies. Thaman S, who is in terrific form will be giving the music for the movie. The shooting of the film will start very soon.

Vijay Devarakonda’s LIGER Glimpse Shatters Records

Vijay Devarakonda’s LIGER glimpse has shattered all previous records, and has become the most watched glimpse in 24 hours.

From the glimpse, it is clear that LIGER is yet another rags to riches story. The glimpse shows Vijay as a chaiwala turned MMA fighter from Mumbai. He seems to be an angry young man in this film as well.

Liger is a crucial film for Vijay as his last two films have not worked well. Dear Comrade had mixed reviews and terrible collections at the box office, and World Famous Lover was disastrous in every aspect.

But so far things have been going in the positive direction for Vijay. The glimpse that was released yesterday has garnered 15.4M views in the first 24 hours, making it the highest for any Indian film.

Bheemla Nayak’s 8.49M views and RRR’s 7.53M views fall way behind Liger. This is a good sign for Vijay as people were concerned as to whether Vijay could attract the Pan-Indian audience for his films.

But it looks like Arjun Reddy and the Hindi dubbed versions of his hit movies have garnered him a decent fanbase outside the Telugu states as well.

Liger also stars Ananya Pandey, Ramya Krishnan, and Mike Tyson among others. Puri Jagannadh is the director of the film, and Karan Johar is producing the film under Dharma Productions. The film is scheduled to release on August 25th, 2022.

Radhe Shyam Sticks To Release Date; No Postponement

The makers of Radhe Shyam have made it clear that they will be sticking to the original release date, and that there will be no postponement.

The team of RRR has had to postpone their release date due to the rising Covid cases and 50% occupancy restrictions in major states. Shot on a whopping budget of over 350 crores, the film would find it impossible to recover its money back, especially in Andhra Pradesh.

Even the Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa has found it impossible to break even in the Andhra Pradesh region due to the ticket rates.

Naturally, people assumed that Prabhas’ movie would back out from a Sankranthi release too, as the budget is over 350 crores as well, but that is clearly not the case.

In a poster released by UV Creations on the occasion of New Year, the release date stands unchanged. The makers of Radhe Shyam have stuck to the release date of 14th January 2022. The team will be hoping that this massive risk pays off in theatres in the coming weeks.

Radhe Shyam stars Prabhas, Pooja Hegde, Bhagyashree, Priyadarsi, Murali Sharma among others. Radha Krishna Kumar is the director of the film. Justin Prabhakaran is the music director of the movie.

AP CM Jagan About The Ticket Rates Issue

AP CM Jagan has been hell-bent on the issue of ticket rates in the state of Andhra Pradesh. He has time and again said that there will be no hiking of ticket rates, even for the biggie releases.

Many prominent figures from the Telugu film industry have spoken about this issue, but no efforts have managed to convince Jagan.

Power star Pawan Kalyan, Nani, Republic director Deva Katta have been more vocal and upright in their criticism of AP CM Jagan. The other prominent members of the Telugu film industry have not raised their voices as much.

Recently, during a speech, AP CM Jagan spoke about the ticket rates issue yet again and said that the actors requesting the price hike are “anti-poor” and that they do not want the poor to benefit.

Jagan also said that these people will never wish for the good of the people and that they will not let others also do good for the people.

Big budget movies are finding it very hard to break even in AP due to this. The recently released Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa has found it very hard to break even in AP but has performed very well in other states.

Bangarraju all set for Sankranti; announces arrival with a teaser

Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya starrer Bangarraju is all set to enter the Sankranti race. While the team had announced its release date a while ago, there was a slight uncertainty whether this socio fantasy would lock horns with other Tollywood biggies or not.

With RRR pushing its release date indefinitely, the Bangarraju unit confirmed their arrival for Sankranthi with a teaser. The teaser presented Naga Chaitanya and Nagarjuna in all their glory and also featured Ramya Krishna and Krithi Shetty.

The film is jointly produced by Annapurna Studios and Zee Studios banners.

Kalyan Krishna is directing this project which is a prequel to the 2016 socio fantasy Soggade Chinni Nayana. Naga Chaitanya will be teaming up with Nagarjuna for the other lead role.

The celebrated father-son duo previously appeared together in Akkineni’s multi-starrer Manam which is remembered as one of the all-time classics.

Ramya Krishna who was paired in Soggade Chinni Nayana is part of Nagarjuna’s Bangaraju as well. Krithi Shetty will play Naga Chaitanya’s love interest.

Bheemla Nayak team jumps into action after RRR postponement

Looks like Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak will indeed be making an entry for Sankranti. The multistarrer remake of Ayyappannum Koshiyum was initially supposed to release on January 12th but later pushed its release to 25th February after a series of meetings with RRR unit.

Now with RRR making its way out of the Sankranti race, the Bheemla Nayak team has sprung into action. The movie unit will be meeting today to discuss the release date and the team is looking to hit the screens on January 12th.

Mere one week of work is now remaining on Bheemla Nayak and the team is most likely to retain its original Sankranti release. Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak makers were adamant to release the movie on Sankranti with two biggies in the race.

Both Trivikram and Pawan Kalyan were firm on the 12th of January release earlier. The duo, however, had to give up their stance and agreed on a February 25th release.

RRR is now battling quite a few adverse situations before its release. The same is the case with Radhe Shyam as well. On one hand, there is the Omicron scare and on the other, there is the AP government ticket prices issue. These issues have made it quite difficult to go for a pan-India release at the monment.

The situation is perfect for Bheemla Nayak and they would like to utilise this sudden opportunity.

With just a week to go for its much-anticipated release, SS Rajamouli’s much-awaited RRR now stands postponed. With rising Covid cases and 50% occupancy restrictions in many states and even night curfews in some, the makers were left with no other reason.

Adding to this the corona cases in Europe and USA have made the overseas collections scenario also quite grim. The movie already has had three release day changes. Initially planned for 30th July 2020, the movie then moved to 8th Jan 2021. From this date, it was pushed to 13th October 2021 and now it will have one more change.

RRR is now battling quite a few adverse situations before its release. The same is the case with Radhe Shyam as well. On one hand, there is the Omicron scare and on the other, there is the AP government ticket prices issue. These challenges have made the situation quite tense for the movie unit as well as the fans who are eagerly waiting for this project.

An official update on this release date postponement will be announced soon. The makers will now notify a new release date in due course of time.
