Allu Arjun team targets Prabhas intentionally

Icon Star Allu Arjun is on a career-high after the commercial success of Pushpa. While the film received mixed reviews on release, it has been doing fairly well especially in other languages. Pushpa has now become the 5th movie from Tollywood to cross the Rs 150 crore mark. This includes collections of all collections. This is his second film to do so after Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo to hit the mark. The other films in this list are Baahubali 1, Baahubali 2, and Saaho.

With 5 films of just Allu Arjun and Prabhas featuring in this list, now comparisons have started between the two. Prabhas became a household name across India in 2015 with Baahubali: The Begining. He further consolidated his position as a pan India star with Baahubali: The Conclusion and Saaho.

Now Allu Arjun’s team is strategizing and playing PR games to target Prabhas. The Icon Star’s team is known to plant articles in Bollywood websites, hyping Allu Arjun to great extent. There are articles being planted in the Bollywood sites claiming Allu Arjun as a ‘Self Made Star’. This is being directed as a jibe towards Prabhas where it is being inferred that the ‘Radhe Shyam’ actor has become a star on the backing of SS Rajamouli.

The team has to remember one thing here. SS Rajamouli himself had a relatively small market in Bollywood pre-Baahubali. Both Prabhas and Rajamouli should get equal credit for the humongous success. Even Prabhas’ Saaho which was directed by a small director and had disaster reviews did massive opening in north markets which is almost 10 times that of Pushpa.

Pushpa, just like KGF did a good job in the north market because it reached masses well and due to its mass content.

The team should at least stop planting these articles and just enjoy the success of Pushpa. The Icon Star is unnecessarily facing negativity because of this overzealous team.

Naga Shaurya’s 2 recent films to release on OTT on the same date

Naga Shaurya had a rather disappointing year at the box office in 2021. He had two releases Varudu Kaavalenu and Lakshya and both failed to impress the audience. Now, both these films after a disappointing run at the box office are all set to stream on OTT.

Varudu Kaavalenu will release on 7th January on Zee 6 while Lakshya will release on the same day on Aha.

Varudu Kaavalenu was well appreciated for its technical values and core concept but failed to create the magic at the box office. The film was an average fare and continued Naga Shourya’s dry run at the box office.

The film featured an impressive support cast and had seasoned actors such as Murali Sharma, Nadhiya, and Vennela Kishore among others. SS Thaman and Vishal Chandrashekhar composed the music and score for this film.

Lakshya on the other hand sports drama and featured the young actor as a an archer.

The story behind Ram Charan & NTR’s RRR postponement

RRR postponement has been one of the biggest breaking news from Tollywood. The much-awaited magnum opus by SS Rajamouli had intense promotions in December. The trio of Rajamouli, Tarak, and Charan traveled extensively to promote the film across various channels and it was certain that the movie after 3 release date changes would finally release on 7th January.

Fate however had different plans and the movie had to be postponed yet again from 7th January. Reportedly, Bollywood distributors held talks with producer DVV Danayya on the rising cases of Covid back in December 3rd week. Danayya even consulted Rajamouli on the same and the director was fixed on getting the movie out by all means on the 7th January. This is why the team continued aggressive promotions and pre-release events without any fear.

Danayya on the other hand was unhappy with AP pre-release business and later adjustments. Meanwhile, the cases kept rising and the overseas market also looked uncertain considering the rising cases in the USA and Europe.

The team eventually had no option left but to push the release once again to date unknown. RRR postponement has left fans in dejection. Rajamouli, however, is certain that whenever the movie released, it will surely create a record streak at the box office.

Prabhas cancels all promotional interviews for today

Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam release has turned out to be one of the biggest suspense story of Tollywood. Everything was going fine till the Covid cases spiked up leading to multiple states imposing occupancy restrictions and night curfews. With this pan-India project set to release on 14th January, things look rather tense for the makers.

In wake of this new suspense, Prabhas has canceled all the promotional interviews that were scheduled for today. Reportedly, the Radhe Shyam team will take the final decision on the 7th whether to release or postpone. Till that date, there will be no promotional activities from the Radhe Shyam unit.

An official update on the same is expected to come out on 7th January which is just a week before the scheduled release date.

A number of states such as Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Haryana among many others have imposed occupancy restrictions or are in plans of doing so. Mumbai, which is the largest market for Hindi films has already extended section 144 till January 15th. In such a case the makers of Radhe Shyam are left with very few options.

Extraordinary pre-release business for Bangarraju

Nagarjuna’s Bangarraju has got a new momentum after the postponement of RRR. This multistarrer which also features Naga Chaitanya is suddenly receiving a great response from the trade circles. With no big release apart from Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam, Bangarraju makers are now in a position to dictate terms as well.

The makers of the film Zee Studios are quoting a ratio of Rs 12 crores for Andhra and Rs 5 crores for Ceeded. According to estimates, just Telugu states business is expected to be in excess of Rs 25 cr.

Also, in case the AP Government permits ticket hikes, then this figure can go even higher. The makers released a teaser yesterday announcing their grand arrival for Sankranti after weeks of uncertainty.

The film is jointly produced by Annapurna Studios and Zee Studios banners.

Kalyan Krishna is directing this project which is a prequel to the 2016 socio fantasy Soggade Chinni Nayana. Naga Chaitanya will be teaming up with Nagarjuna for the other lead role.

Trivikram eyeing for pan India market

Ace director Trivikram is a name to reckon with in Tollywood. His movies have a distinct mark and have entertained the audience over the past few decades and created a great fan base in the overseas market as well. Now, the celebrated writer-director is reportedly planning for a market pan-India as well.

Post the success of Attarintiki Daaredi in 2013, Trivikram was on cloud 9 as he had established himself as a premier commercial director in Tollywood. However, with the Baahubali series, Rajamouli shattered this position and stood as the numero uno in Tollywood. According to reports, Trivikram had also planned a heavy fantasy drama with a budget of Rs 200 crores back then which did not work out.

Now the spark has once again re-ignited for Trivikram with the success of Pushpa in the north-Indian market. Every director in Tollywood is eyeing a pan-India film. Even Koratala Siva is planning to go national with Acharya. Hence, there is nothing wrong in him vying for the same.

Reportedly, Trivikram wants to debut on a pan-India level with SSMB28. Since the project is an action entertainer, it would have a nationwide appeal. Mahesh, on the other hand, wants to debut pan-India with Rajamouli film. It needs to be seen how that works out.
