Actress Trisha Krishnan Tests Positive For COVID-19

Actress Trisha Krishnan is the latest member of the film industry to test positive for COVID-19. Covid cases are on the rise in India once again. A lot of celebrities have contracted the virus this time around.

Trisha is the latest member to complain about contacting COVID-19. Just a few days ago Mahesh Babu took to Twitter to tell his fans that he has tested positive for the virus. Yesterday, leading music director Thaman S also tested positive for COVID-19.

Trisha told her fans on Twitter that despite taking all precautionary measures she tested positive just a little before New Year’s time. She said that she had almost all symptoms associated with the virus, and experienced the most difficult week of her life.

The good news is that she is actively recovering and is out of danger. The actress urged people to take their vaccines and wear masks. She will be flying back home once she tests negative.

On the work front, Trisha has signed an exciting web series with Sony Liv. It is an investigative thriller titled Brinda. She also recently wrapped up shooting for Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyan Selvan- Part 1 and is shooting for Mohanlal starrer Ram.

Fans of Mahesh Babu are storming to the theatres to watch special shows of Businessman. This shows the level of craze that the superstar possesses. So far there have been 10+ shows confirmed in Andhra Pradesh.

If you thought this was impressive, here’s more, there are 3+ shows in the town of Amalapuram, all 3 being houseful shows. This is the first time there have been 3 houseful shows in a town in Tollywood history.

This just proves yet again that Mahesh Babu is one of if not the most loved Tollywood actor. His fans in the states of AP and TS are proof of that.

This would be extremely pleasant news to Mahesh Babu, who is currently in isolation due to to testing positive for COVID-19. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Disastrous openings for Rana’s 1945

Rana Daggubati starrer period drama finally released after a long delay. This bilingual, however, has failed to reach expectations and has been panned by both critics as well as the audience. The film has opened to disastrous openings and has turned out to be the worst-performing opening day for the actor.

According to reports, the makers and actor have not been on great terms Rana has also been least involved in the promotions of the film. The film co-starring Regina Cassandra went on floors way back in 2019 but has faced one delay after another.

Even the dubbing portions of the film remained incomplete with the actor choosing to stay away from the later portions of the film.

The actor had even tweeted against the movie as well as the producer. He asked people to not fall for the producer’s tricks.

The story is set in 1945 Burma and follows the incidents around Subhash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army. Tamil director Sathyasiva has directed this film while C Kalyan has produced this war drama.

Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music with Nasar and Sathyaraj playing key roles in the film.

RGV set to meet Perni Nani on Monday

The RGV- Perni Nani chapter has taken an interesting turn with the duo all set to meet face to face on Monday. Perni Nani, who earlier this week appeared on a live debate with the director has given the latter an appointment on 10th January.

The meeting will be taking place at Amaravati Secretariat on 10th January at noon. Ram Gopal Varma took to Twitter and shared the update.

RGV attended a news debate with AP I& PR and Cinematography minister Perni Nani and made some strong points to which the minister had no reasonable response. The director then continued a barrage of tweets on the matter and has been tearing into AP government one tweet at a time.

Ram Gopal Varma made a series of Tweets towards Perni Nani addressing him in a sarcastic manner. He also advised the Tollywood fraternity to speak up atleast now on the issue or else it would be too late.

With Perni Nani agreeing to meet the temperamental director face to face, it will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds.

NTR For Dil Raju Nephew’s Rowdy Boys’ Trailer Launch

Dil Raju has roped in JR.NTR for the trailer launch of his nephew’s movie Rowdy Boys. After the postponement of biggies like RRR and Radhe Shyam, a lot of films have entered the Sankranthi race. Rowdy Boys starring Ashish, Dil Raju’s nephew is also one among the list.

From the glimpses and the teaser, Rowdy Boys looks like a college love story, where fighting is involved. The teaser offers nothing special to excite the audience. We are hoping that the trailer at least will cause interest in the movie. The film will face stiff competition from Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya starrer Bangarraju.

This Sankranthi we will see competition between two debutant heroes, both launched by leading members in the industry. Mahesh Babu’s nephew Ashok Galla’s film Hero is also releasing this Sankranthi.

JR.NTR is going to launch the trailer of Rowdy Boys at 6 PM on 8th January.

Rowdy Boys also stars Anupama Parameswaran in a prominent role. A top actress like Anupama has been roped to play the female lead due to the professional bond she shares with ace producer Dil Raju. Dil Raju is producing the film under his SVC banner. DSP is the music director of the movie. The film will release on 14th January in theatres.

The American Dream Trailer Talk: An Aha Original

The trailer of the Aha Original, titled The American Dream is out now. The trailer spanning 2 minutes in runtime revolves around the life of a young man aspiring to achieve the so-called “The American Dream”. Will he turn his dreams into reality or will he remain as just another man with a dream?

Aha is fleshing out really good content in the streaming space at the moment. Their previous original film Senapathi was a no-nonsense, raw film that is being loved by the Telugu audiences as well as critics. The American Dream also promises a no-nonsense film that focuses only on the plot.

Even though it is a story that we all know, it is a story that has not been told in Telugu cinema. If executed well, the movie will connect to a very large audience. We have all heard about Indians going to the USA to succeed, but failing miserably in the process.

The movie explores this very aspect. The trailer reveals everything there is to know about the film. The key will be how director Vignesh Kaushik presents this drama convincingly. The only fear is that some parts of the trailer look unintentionally funny, and stereotypical.

The American Dream stars Prince, Neha Krishna, Subhaleka among others. The movie will release on 14th January 2022 exclusively on Aha.

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa-The Rise Streaming Now On OTT

Allu Arjun’s recent blockbuster hit Pushpa-The Rise is now streaming on a top OTT platform. Pushpa-The Rise was released on 17th December in theatres and opened to mixed reviews and blockbuster collections. The film has taken in huge money in its run of 20 days, becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of 2021.

Now it is finally time for its release on OTT. Top streaming platform Amazon Prime has acquired the OTT rights of the film. The film is now streaming in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The makers have held out on a Hindi release due to its outstanding collections in the North belt.

The makers had originally agreed for the release of all 5 languages on OTT at once but due to the unexpected theatrical success of the Hindi version, they have decided to wait for one more week.

The only reason the makers opted for an OTT release this early was due to the release of RRR on 7th January. With RRR being postponed the makers would’ve liked for a longer theatrical run. The team of Pushpa also requested Amazon Prime to delay the OTT release but they have refused to do so.
