The story of the film revolves around Arjuna and his unemployed friends who set up in search of money. How they use illegal methods to accomplish the same and how their life changes forms the rest of the story. The film had the potential to be a belter of a dark thriller comedy but ended up becoming nothing. Poor direction, forced humor at regular intervals and average music served as letdowns for the film.

The OTT release date of Arjuna Phalguna is now out. The film will release on August 21st on top Telugu OTT platform Aha. The makers have not made any official announcements regarding the same, but confirmation will arrive soon.

Now the theatre owners and exhibitors of the East Godavari region are having a meeting tomorrow to discuss this issue. The owners are furious with Nagarjuna about his irresponsible comments supporting the ticket rates in AP.

The prices of tickets according to GO in Panchayat Raj are at a shockingly low 20, 15, and 10 rupees per ticket. This is the condition even for theatres with Air conditioners and good maintenance. Theatre owners are finding it very hard to run their theatres at these low prices.

They are having a meeting tomorrow to discuss the release of Bangarraju in their theatres. The exhibitors are furious about how these rates can be okay for Nagarjuna. When the whole industry is fighting against this issue, Nagarjuna has unnecessarily caused more division and controversy regarding ticket rates.

They have previously gone on strikes to voice their issue with the ticket rates. The owners have also shut down their theatres to protest against the government’s decision.

The film has generated decent buzz due to its teaser and trailer and is releasing parallelly with Bangarraju. Nagarjuna fans are furious with Dil Raju due to poor screens in Nizam.

Disastrous Weekend For Tollywood; Omicron Fear?

This weekend has recorded disastrous collections for new and older releases for Tollywood. This is likely due to the spread of the new variant of COVID-19 – Omicron.

Since the release of Akhanda in theatres, Tollywood movies have been performing exceptionally well on weekends. Every Sunday show showed houseful numbers in main centers with decent occupancies for Akhanda. This trend carried on with Pushpa-the Rise as well, which held strong on weekends.

Shyam Singha Roy also pulled audiences to the theatres on the weekends. Even last weekend showed decent numbers at theatres. But the trend has turned upside down due to Omicron. This weekend has been disastrous for all Tollywood movies.

This is the first time the numbers have been this low in a long time. Omicron seems to be affecting theatres around AP and TS, with people staying at home due to the virus. But one can only be positive that the audience will flock to theatres as soon as the third wave is controlled, and the trend of disastrous weekend collections for Tollywood does not continue.

One other reason could also be that no one is interested in the recent releases, and is waiting for Bangarraju. Only time will tell.
