After the release of big-budget RRR and all the buzz and celebrations last week, the audience have a totally contrasting small-budget movie with a low buzz in front of them. Mishan Impossible is directed by Swaroop RSJ, who earlier made his debut with Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya. The quirky trailer has managed to generate some curiosity. But, does this small movie have enough to sustain at the box office? Let’s find out

Story: Mishan Impossible is a story of three kids named Raghupati, Raghava, Rajaram who go by the monicker RRR. RRR set out to capture India’s most wanted criminal Dawood Ibrahim where their paths cross with Sailaja (Tapsee), an investigative journalist. Sailaja is following a series of child trafficking cases and trying to bring light to it. How RRR and Sailaja combine their forces and work together is what the story is about.

Performances: The three kids Harsh, Bhanu, and Jayatheertha, playing Raghupati, Raghava and Rajaram have quite a vital part in this film and they have played their roles to perfection. Credit must be given to Swaroop RSJ for extracting great performances from the child actors. Tapsee as Sailaja has got a major chunk of work to do and has done a decent job as an investigative journalist. The rest of the supporting cast including Harsha Vardhan, Rishab Shetty, Suhaas among others have done justice to their characters in whatever limited scope provided.

Analysis: Mishan Impossible is a great concept on paper and has the capability of repeating the success of Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya. The movie definitely has its bright moments, especially in the first half. However, unlike ASSA, the movie begins to lose its grip once we approach the climax. Tapsee’s scenes with the kids are well shot and the investigative parts are decently set up. Once the characters are established and their arc starts to develop the execution starts going sideways and the viewers might lose track of the proceedings due to weak writing

Verdict: Mishan Impossible is a film that has all the makings of a good weekend watch. Good characterizations, a unique plot, and a talented cast provide a great start to the movie. However, the film starts losing plot once it starts diving into the actual plot. An OTT release would have been a better option and would have reached a far wider audience.
