Nikhil Siddhartha starrer epic adventure Karthikeya 2 continues to dominate the box office globally, and the film has crossed the 115-crore mark at the box office. Yes, the film has crossed the milestone of Rs 100 crores recently and within no time the film grossed another 15 crores worldwide.

Chiyaan Vikram’s Cobra was released in theatres on August 31st. Due to the decent buzz and hype around the film, it opened to great numbers on the opening day. It is also important to mention that Cobra also greatly benefited from the Ganesha festival advantage.

The film posted 23 crores in gross collections on the first day with promising numbers in most territories. But as word of mouth about the film spread, the collections and bookings started dwindling. On the second day, collections dropped by a significant portion.

But the film picked up on the weekends once again and the collections were enough to escape a flop. Even though the film will not be considered a hit, there are no major losses for the buyers.

After the first weekend at the box office, here is Cobra’s 1st Weekend worldwide collections. The film collected a might impressive 26 crores in Tamil Nadu. The second best region was Andhra and Nizam where the film did 8.5 crores.

Cobra posted decent collections in the other Southern states as well. Cobra managed to garner 3.4 crores in Kerala and 3.8 crores in Karnataka. While the rest of India stands at 1.2 crores. Coming to the overseas performance, Cobra collected about 10.7 crores. Overall, Cobra managed to collect 53.6 crores in gross approximately on its 1st weekend at the box office.

The first look and title reveal of Salman Khan’s next film were released today and it has been rather disappointing. The first look of Salman Khan’s next film titled Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ka Jaan was revealed and it showcases Salman in an all-new avatar. Salman is seen sporting long wavy hair, earrings, sunglasses as well as a chain.

The team released the first look with the aim of impressing the fans with Salman’s new look but the result has been the opposite. The first look of the film has misfired and a lot of people have shown their disapproval with the first look of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ka Jaan.

The common and the most obvious complaint is that Salman’s hair looks very artificial. It is almost as if the team decided to put in the least effort possible in creating a look. Although the intention was to achieve mass appeal, the first look has done the opposite.

Many directors have one movie that is their dream project that they want to do at some point in their careers. Like how Rajamouli wants to do an adaptation of Mahabharat, Puri’s dream project is the war film, Jana Gana Mana.

Originally, Puri had planned to do Jana Gana Mana with Mahesh Babu. The announcements for the same were also made but it got canceled later due to some reasons. Mahesh and Puri had some creative differences due to which the film couldn’t materialize.

Later, Puri was in talks with Venkatesh but that didn’t go according to plans as well. Puri even approached Yash and Salman Khan but none of them showed interest in the film. Years later, Vijay Deverakonda signed Jana Gana Mana after Puri convinced him to do so.

The team also made official announcements and cast Pooja Hegde as the female lead. They even paid some cast and crew remunerations for the shooting. The first schedule of the film has also been completed now. But because of the disastrous result of Liger, the movie has been shelved. This means that the makers could have easily lost 10 crores with no way to recover the amount.

Now, both Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan will be seen together yet again. The duo will make an appearance at Maniratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan’s music and trailer launch event. The news was announced by the movie’s production house Lyca Productions much to the fans’ delight.

The grand event will be held at Nehru Stadium, Chennai on 6th September. Ponniyin Selvan is the most ambitious project of Mani Ratnam’s career and will star Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Karthi, Trisha, Shobhita Dhulipalla, and Jayam Ravi among others. Ponniyin Selvan 1 is a pan-India project and will release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi on 30th September.

AR Rahman has composed the music for this prestigious project while cinematography is handled by Ravi Varman. The film is bankrolled by Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies in association with Lyca Productions.

The film has a lot of graphic work and technicians from other countries have been involved in the project. Amazon Prime bagged the digital rights of the two parts for a huge amount. As per reports, Ponniyin Selvan is sold for a whopping price of 125 Cr to Amazon.

Manchu Manoj who has been away from the limelight from quite some time made a striking appearance at a Ganesh Pandal in Hyderabad on Sunday evening. What is interesting is that he was spotted with Bhuma Mounika Reddy- the younger daughter of former MP Bhuma Nagi Reddy.

According to reports, Manoj will soon tie the knot with Mounika. He also interacted with the media and opened up about his second marriage. The actor’s appearance at the venue attracted quite a crowd and onlookers thronged to the Pandal to meet him.

Manchu Manoj married Pranathi Reddy in 2015 and decided to part ways in the year 2019. He even released a public statement back then. Further details of Manoj and Mounika’s wedding are not out yet and an announcement can be expected soon.
