Karthi’s Blockbuster Film Viruman OTT Streaming Date And Release Partner

Karthi’s Viruman was released in theatres on 12th August and opened to massive first-day collections. Despite the majority of negative reviews around Viruman, the film managed to pull the audiences to the theatres.

Despite being set in a rural background, the film managed to connect with all sections of the audience, emerging as a blockbuster.

Viruman ended up posting 30+ crores in its opening weekend and became one of the highest grossers in 2022. In fact, the distributor of the film was so pleased with the result that he even decided to gift Karthi with some expensive items.

After a long wait, Viruman is finally all set to take the OTT route. Viruman will be released on the Amazon Prime Video OTT platform on September 11th.

Viruman also stars Aditi Shankar, Aparna Balamurali, Jyothika, and Prakash Raj in lead roles. Muttiah is the writer as well as the director whereas Suriya-Jyotika have produced the film under 2D Entertainments.

Meanwhile, Karthi will be eagerly awaiting the release of is magnum opus with Mani Ratnam titled Ponniyin Selvan. The trailer of the film was launched just yesterday and has increased the excitement tenfolds.

Vijay Deverakonda’s Pan-Indian debut Liger did not work out too well for the actor. The film was released amidst a lot of hype and buzz but the movie failed to live up to the hype. Liger was instantly dismissed by the audiences and the movie crashed by the opening weekend itself.

After the dismal theatrical run, Liger will be hitting the OTT route very shortly. The digital rights of the film were bought for a whopping 80+ crore deal for all the languages. Liger will stream on Disney+Hotstar from 30th September.

Although the film has been dismissed by the general public, the OTT route might work in the film’s favor. Owing to the fact that many people have not watched Liger in theatres, they might want to give it a try on Disney+Hotstar.

There will be two sets of OTT watchers for Liger. The first set will be those who would still want to watch a film from Puri or Vijay despite the poor theatrical response. The second set will want to watch the film to troll the film further.

Either way, Liger will stream on Disney+Hotstar from 30th September. The film also stars Ananya Pandey, Ramya Krishna and Mike Tyson in an extended cameo. Karan Johar is the producer of the film.

With less than 48 hours left for the release of Bollywood’s most ambitious project Brahmastra, the advance bookings for the film are extremely promising. The teaser, trailer, and the recently released promos of Brahmastra have all piqued the interest of the audience.

Despite best efforts by netizens to boycott the film, Brahmastra is firmly heading towards a blockbuster opening day. The boycott campaign against Brahmastra seems futile and the efforts to sideline the film are of no use either.

The bookings of the film are excellent so far and have collected more than 10+ crores till now. If the same momentum continues, Brahmastra will easily open to 30+ crores on the opening day at the box office. The bookings are extraordinary not only in the Northern regions but also in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

This is the best opening for a Bollywood film this year and ranks at 2nd overall, just behind KGF 2 in the Hindi belts. As long as the content in the film is good, Brahmastra will be unstoppable.

Just yesterday, the trailer launch of India’s biggest magnum opus took place in Chennai. Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan is only a few weeks away from release and the hype for the film is unreal. From what we have seen with the teaser, promos, and character introductions, Mani seems to have planned something huge.

Yesterday, the trailer of Ponniyin Selvan was released at the trailer and audio event amidst Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth. After the trailer, the expectations from the film increased tenfold.

The trailer has all the aspects to attract the audiences to the theatres. The beautiful visuals, the sharp cinematography of Ravi Varman, and the detailing of the characters and their motivations in the story, all make up for an absolute visual treat.

There is no doubt that Ponniyin Selvan will open huge in Tamil Nadu. But, going by the trailer response in the other languages, the film will easily open big in the other languages as well.
