Devara will be streaming on Netflix, Vettaiyan on Amazon Prime Video, Janaka Aithe Ganaka on Aha Video and ARM will arrive on Disney+Hotstar. Apart from Devara, all the other 3 movies didn’t make well at the box office. Vettaiyan starring Rajinikanth released amidst great hype but couldn’t achieve a success. The film had a good first weekend but ended up becoming a failure later.

Janaka Aithe Ganaka too didn’t taste success and the same goes with Malayalam film, ARM. The film was also promoted extensively by the team only to see a failure at the box office. So, we have to see how these 3 movies now fare on the OTT. Devara will obviously register big views.

Pushpa 2 Music Twist: It’s DSP’s Call, Not Sukumar’s

0

Pushpa 2 is the most anticipated film in Indian cinema, achieving over 1000 crore in pre-business. The internal business is in full swing, with USA advance bookings recently opening and already crossing 500K, setting a new record as the fastest Indian film to reach this milestone—showing the immense craze surrounding it.

On the downside, big-budget films like this typically enter the promotion phase by now, but Pushpa 2 is still in production. Sukumar is known for his continuous last-minute work, which has delayed filming.

Recent news suggests that DSP may be replaced for the background score by other music directors. Reportedly, Sukumar and Allu Arjun are not satisfied with DSP’s focus on concerts, which they believe could impact the film’s quality.

Sources indicate that bringing in other music directors may not be Sukumar’s decision, but rather DSP’s, as he has requested additional time to ensure high-quality work. He expressed that he doesn’t want to compromise on the music, given its importance, but with the film’s release timeline fixed, there’s no room for delay.

DSP has reportedly informed Sukumar that other music directors could handle some BGM portions, with the final choice being based on the best work. Although Sukumar and Allu Arjun may be frustrated with the delay, Sukumar’s own prolonged work on the project may also be a key factor.

But logically, Sukumar is the one to blame, not DSP, as he has continually delayed the film. How can a music director deliver the best background score with constant shooting delays? DSP worked until the last minute for part one as well, and he’s now made the right call by bringing in other music directors. Typically, music directors do not make these kinds of decisions.

Sympathy became the biggest promotion trend

0

There is a strong buzz in the film Industry that apart from promotional activities of a film that include teaser, trailer and songs, sympathy factor has been a major reason for the success of several films recently. That sympathy is also working big for the audience which is resulting in big box office successes. Sympathy creation is now the biggest promotion trend for films and actors.

Not everyone intentionally tries to create sympathy. Many people genuinely express their concerns, which are valid and resonate with audiences. However, some people intentionally create sympathy by making emotional and hard-hitting drama before and after a film’s release. If the audience connects with the sympathy they work very effectively for the film. That way the word of mouth for such films is also coming good even if the film is just an average flick interns of content. This can be observed in many films recently which used the sympathy factor.

Mostly low budgeted films and the actors associated with it are resorting to these tactics and we can see even more such sympathy words coming out from them in the future. This is not at all a good sign and we have to wait and see when this stops. This sympathy mostly works for small films, directly affecting big films.

Kamal Haasan’s Lucky Date Set for Thug Life

0

Usually, there are some specific slots for big movie releases that are considered safe and fruitful. Diwali, Sankranti, Dasara, and the Summer season are usually targetted by biggies. Over the last several years, we have seen several industry hits and blockbusters released in these seasons. However, when it comes to Kamal Haasan, there is another slot that is usually not preferred by many – June.

Filmmakers in general don’t prefer June for release as the summer holiday period is over by then. Interestingly, this date has given Kamal Haasan some memorable blockbusters and his best results. His movies such as Vikram, Kalki 2898 AD, Dasavatram, and Panchatantra were released in June and emerged as Blockbusters and cult classics.

And now, he wants to repeat the same with his upcoming film Thug Life. The team has decided on 5 June 2025 as the release date, and an official announcement was made through a teaser marking Kamal Haasan’s birthday.

With Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam joining hands after more than three decades, there’s heavy anticipation for this project, and it looks like the June sentiment might again work for the senior star.

Sukumar’s Success Hides All Flaws

0

Sukumar’s tendency to prolong projects has long been a part of his filmmaking style. However, with Pushpa 2, the stakes are higher, given the massive anticipation for the sequel and the producers’ willingness to grant him extended time for perfection. It has been nearly three years since the first installment, Pushpa: The Rise, released, and fans are eagerly awaiting the continuation of the story.

For all his films, Sukumar is working until the last minute before release, which has created many hurdles and continues to do so. Even for Pushpa 2, with less than a month until its release, the movie is still in production. Due to this, it’s becoming difficult for the cast and crew as they continuously need to reshuffle their schedules.

Initially, the team announced an early summer release. Since Pushpa 2 is a major film that impacts all Indian cinema, many films adjusted their release dates. Eventually, the release was pushed to Independence Day, but then another shuffle happened, and now it has been moved to December.

The ongoing delays are challenging for the film’s producers, who must bear the financial burden while managing the expectations of fans and stakeholders. While Sukumar’s previous successes have overshadowed these challenges, there’s a growing concern that this approach could strain relationships within the industry.

Now that he’s established himself as a pan-India director, it’s crucial for Sukumar to reflect on these recurring issues. Meeting deadlines not only builds trust but also ensures smoother releases for all. Balancing creativity with timeliness will be essential for Sukumar’s sustained success across diverse markets.
