Rishi (Sidharth Malhotra) works as an engineer in Mumbai and lives with his wife Mamta (Tamannaah Bhatia). He has no interest in returning to his hometown. However, he is forced to travel to Devanchal after receiving a call from his elder brother regarding their ancestral property in the forest. What happens next and how Rishi uncovers the mystery surrounding the forest forms the crux of the story.
Performances
Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia are adequate in their respective roles, but there is little to highlight beyond that. Tamannaah makes her presence felt with her glamour in the Thummak Thummak song and has good screen presence in Chhathi Maya.
Maniesh Paul manages to generate a few laughs with his comic timing, while Sunil Grover puts in an effort to make his character work. However, the weak writing leaves little scope for his performance to make an impact.

Similar to recent disappointments like Mahendragiri Varahi, which also struggled with its mystery-thriller execution, The Vvaan cannot overcome its fundamental screenplay issues.
The major twist surrounding the villain does not work because the character was not properly developed from the beginning. The second half gives the impression that an interesting backstory is about to be revealed, but the payoff turns out underwhelming. Instead, the film introduces a brief fantasy element involving the hero towards the end, by which point considerable screen time has already been wasted.
The forced comedy inserted between serious sequences is another drawback. The use of AI to narrate the backstory is particularly irritating rather than effective.
The climax initially seems fairly decent, but even that portion is unnecessarily stretched. What could have been a more effective conclusion loses its impact because of the prolonged treatment.
