Akhanda 2 Release Stuck: Waiting for One Big Assurance

0

EROS is one of the main reasons for the Akhanda 2 movie’s postponement, as it was fed up with the film’s production house, 14 Reels Plus’s false promises on a continuous basis regarding the pending payment. The film’s release is still doubtful because of this issue.

The company approached the court for a principal amount of 28 Cr, and they demanded that the amount should be paid with 14% interest, taking the total to over 50 Cr.

Since the production house cannot immediately pay the amount, they are attempting an out-of-court resolution. However, the issue remains unresolved, with discussions ongoing. EROS reportedly demands that the Akhanda 2 production house pay half the outstanding amount immediately, along with a prominent person’s guarantee to withdraw from the case. The parties are still in negotiations.

Akhanda 2 Release: Big Task Ahead For 14 Reels Plus

14 Reels Plus needs to be prepared with half the amount. Even if they get half the amount, there’s uncertainty about securing the remaining amount, as these are substantial sums in the crore range. Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu have reportedly already sacrificed some of their outstanding remuneration.

Hopefully, 14 Reels Plus will resolve all issues by tomorrow and announce a new release date.

Ram Efforts Win Hearts, Not Money

0

Actor Ram Pothineni believed strongly in the story of Andhra King Taluka and personally involved himself in almost every aspect of the film. He even contributed to writing the lyrics for one of the songs. However, despite all his hard work, Ram has won only hearts, not money.

Directed by Mahesh Babu Pachigolla, the movie released on 27th November and opened to positive reviews. Critics and audiences appreciated Ram’s performance unanimously.

Although the film started slowly at the box office, the trade expected collections to grow steadily in the following days. Unfortunately, that rise did not happen. There was a brief hope that the film might gain momentum after Akhanda 2 was postponed, but Andhra King Taluka saw only a very small jump in collections.

Ram did not take any remuneration for this project because he completely believed in the film. The producers officially announced that he took the distribution rights for the Nizam and Guntur areas instead of his salary.

Generally, Tier-2 stars charge around ₹20 crore as remuneration. But in comparison, Andhra King Taluka did not even earn half of that amount for Ram, as the combined collections from Nizam and Guntur may not even reach double digits by the end of its run.

With Andhra King Taluka, Ram has definitely won love and hearts, but not money. Hopefully, the goodwill from this film will support his upcoming projects. Ram now needs a film that wins both hearts and the box office.

Jio Hotstar Overtaking Netflix

0

Jio Hotstar, one of the top streaming Indian platforms, has reached 300 million subscribers, putting it neck-and-neck with Netflix’s last reported count of 301.6 million. It’s all set to overtake Netflix in subscriber count.

The merger and the combination of Disney+ Hotstar’s existing big user base helped the OTT platform to reach this bigger reach, and mainly sports events, such as IPL and ICC tourneys, will be available for Hotstar Big Subscribers.

Recently, they have been focusing on big films as well. Netflix subscription also costs more than Jio Hotstar, which is the main reason for it to get 300 million subscribers in our home, India.

JioHotstar excels in live sports (cricket!), regional content, and budget-friendly, bundled plans with HBO/Peacock titles, making it great for Indian families and sports fans; while Netflix leads in high-quality, globally appealing original series/movies, consistent 4K streaming, and a vast library of Hollywood blockbusters, catering more to cinephiles wanting premium international shows.

Akhanda 2 Release Tension: Small Films Fear Big Impact

0

With the postponement of Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2, the situation is somewhat uncertain, particularly for small films like Mowgli 2025 and Shambhala, which could be impacted by the new release date.

The new release date of Akhanda 2 has not been officially announced yet. All the local financiers’ hurdles are said to be cleared, and discussions are happening with EROS, which are said to be sorted by tomorrow, mostly.

With this, the makers have scheduled a meeting today with distributors to discuss the new release date. The makers are putting two dates before distributors: 12th December and 25th December, and according to their feedback, the team will lock the release date.

Mostly, the release date update is likely to be out from industry sources, and an official announcement is likely to be expected from tomorrow.

Either of Akhanda 2’s new release dates, December 12th or 25th, will significantly impact small films. On December 12th, Mowgli 2025, Isha, Annagaru Vostaru, and Psych Siddartha are scheduled for release. Similarly, Champion, Dandora, and Shambhala are set to be released on December 25th, and all these films will likely be affected.

The makers of the small films are understandably concerned, as getting new release dates would be challenging if postponement becomes necessary.

The Raja Saab Makers Drop Bombshell Statement Against Postponement

The sudden postponement of Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 has created uncertainty across the Telugu film industry, especially regarding the release of other major films. One such film is The Raja Saab, which was announced for a theatrical release on January 9, 2026. With speculations mounting, the producers have now issued an official statement confirming that The Raja Saab will release as scheduled and will not be postponed.

Producer Vishwa Prasad expressed concern over last-minute disruptions to film releases, citing the impact on artists, small producers, and the broader film ecosystem. He condemned the interference surrounding Akhanda 2 and emphasized the need for integrity in cinema.

The Raja Saab Release Confirmed for Sankranthi, Says Producer

In a related statement, producers also highlighted that all investments for The Raja Saab have been cleared through internal funds, and any remaining dues will be settled shortly, and reiterated their commitment to a smooth release.

With The Raja Saab holding firm on its release date, anticipation builds for an exciting Sankranthi season, alongside other films like Mana Sankara Vara Prasad, Anaganaga Oka Raju, and Jana Nayagan.

Mammootty’s Experiment Pays Off Big

0

Mammootty, the Malayalam veteran star hero, has done many diverse roles in his career, and his new experiment with his latest film, KalamKaval, pays off massively as the film receives a superb response from the audience and receives an excellent opening at the box office.

Normally, big stars avoid taking risks that break commercial boundaries, but Mammootty, at 74, has defied them by portraying a villain, a psycho serial killer, and his experiment has been completely embraced by the audience.

The film opened with a massive ₹15.7 Cr, marking the second-biggest opening for Mammootty and the eighth all-time biggest opening for Mollywood. Day 2 collections are on par with Day 1.

Not only this film, but Malayalam stars have always been known for taking on a wide variety of characters or films since the 1980s. This is why Malayali audiences are comfortable with their stars playing completely negative roles.
