Allu Sirish and Anu Emanuel starrer Uravsivo Rakshasivo is the other main release of the day. The film has intrigued netizens with its trailer and features a heavy dose of romantic scenes and sizzling chemistry between the leads. Allu Sirish, who is making a comeback to the big screen after 3 years is in desperate need of a hit. While Urvasivo Rakshasivo has all that it needs to attract youth, let’s see if the film delivers on its promise.

Story: Sree (Allu Sirish) and Sindhu (Anu Emanuel) work together in an IT company. The couple gets drawn to each other and gets into a casual relationship. While Sree is interested in taking this relationship ahead, Sindhu is interested in keeping it casual and nothing serious. What happens when the two ideologies collide and what the fix for it is what the movie follows.

Performances: Allu Sirish’s role doesn’t require much acting or emotions till the second half. This is where the movie succeeds as the actor is in his natural element throughout. It’s only when the need to emote and express arises, the weakness of Sirish and Anu becomes quite evident. Anu Emanuel looks stunning and looks great on screen. Here pairing with Sirish is fresh and the sizzling chemistry is one of the biggest assets of the film. Sunil and Vennela Kishore are the other big strengths of the film and provide the film with effortless comic relief. Other extended cast don’t have much impact but it can be said that the film rests firmly on the performances of Sirish, Anu, Sunil, and Vennela Kishore.

Analysis: Urvasivo Rakshasivo is targeted at youth with plenty of raunchy scenes, kisses, and youth-centric dialogues. Apart from that, the film also focuses on modern-age office romance in a fun, yet realistic manner. The forced emotions and family sentiments are a big letdown and look artificial at times but the film redeems itself with its overall entertainment value.

Verdict: 

Urvasivo Rakshasivo has a familiar plot of a middle-class boy falling in love but is bound by family emotions and responsibility. The fresh execution by Rakesh Sashii and good comedy tracks is what make the film stand out and entertain all. It’s a good comeback by Allu Sirish which will surely be enjoyed by the younger crowd.

The recent two Pan India blockbusters are now streaming on OTT

Today is going to be an eventful day for the OTT audience as two big films are released on OTT. The two films are none other than the recent Pan-Indian blockbusters Ponniyin Selvan and Bramhastra.

While Bramhastra is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, Ponniyin Selvan is released on Amazon Prime Video. Both films will be streaming on OTT from the 4th of November i.e. today. They are expected to get good responses in their streaming.

Bramhastra already managed to receive good collections and remarks from the audience in its theatrical release and it remains to be seen if it can do it all over again on OTT now.

South Indian legendary director Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan I arrived on Amazon Prime last week. But it was available on a rental basis. However, the film became available to all subscribers of the platform this Friday.

Starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, “Jayam” Ravi, “Chiyaan” Vikram, and Karthi, the historical fictional movie was released in the theaters on September 30 and set the box office on fire. It also became an industry hit in Tamilnadu.

Ponniyin Selvan is based on a popular Tamil novel and hence it didn’t get a great reception from the Telugu audience. So we need to see if it can attract the Telugu OTT audience now on OTT.

On the other hand, after having a successful run at the box office, Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra: Part One— Shiva is now available on Disney+ Hotstar. The star-studded movie has Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, while Amitabh Bachchan, Akkineni Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy were seen in key roles. Shah Rukh Khan made a cameo appearance. The film hit the theatres on September 9.

Santosh Shoban’s comedy entertainer Like Share and Subscribe hit the screens today. The film has been promoted in quite a unique manner and the makers have stated the film will be as quirky as the promotions. Merlapaka Gandhi known for hit comedy films like Venkatadri Express and Express Raja has teamed up with Santosh Shoban who impressed audience with Ek Mini Prem Katha. While other small budget comedy films are failing at Tollywood box-office, lets see if Like Share and Subscribe can impress the audience or not.

Story: Viplav (Santosh Shoban) is a travel vlogger who runs his YouTube channel. On one of his journeys he meets Vasudha (Faria Abdullah) who has similar interests. All is going well when the couple find themselves in the world of Naxalism. What happens when two travel vloggers come in touch with the Naxalites is what the plot follows.

Performances: Santosh Shoban is improving with every film. He has got great screen presence and is good in comedy scenes with Sudarshan who is another key element of the movie. Faria Abdullah continues her Jathiratnalu form and is good in her comic timing. Brahmaji is the pick of the lot and shoulders the film brilliantly. He has got a meaty role and brings out his experience and proves why he’s one of the most versatile actors in Tollywood. The first half which lays down the film’s premise showcased promise but is let down because of lack of enough comedy. Most of the jokes fall flat and you would find yourself wondering where the story is heading.

Analysis: Like Share and Subscribe is a film that has its heart in the right place. The film would have been quite enjoyable if the writing supported the uniqueness of the plot. Apart from jokes failing to impress, the film’s screenplay in the second half lags and tires you out. Overall, it is a comedy film where comedy lets it down.

Verdict: 

Merlapaka Gandhi, who is known for his witty films with great situational comedy fails at delivering a film on par with his other hits. Like Share and Subscribe fails at logic test in many places. However, that is not the biggest problem here as some of the biggest comedy hits in Tollywood often lacked logic. The biggest problem is writing and not making viewers feel immersed in the story.

However, Sukumar is demanding that Charan should appear with full fitness in the same manner as he appeared in the introduction scene for the full film. Sabu Cyril’s this surprising update has gone viral on social media. Sabu Cyril is right but Sukumar should finish “Pushpa 2” before he moves on to another project.

Acharya, the movie which disappointed the mega fans and as well as the neutral audience, turned out to be a disaster at the box office. Barring some average numbers on day 1, the film became a heavy loss venture for the buyers.

Acharya was telecasted on Gemini TV on the 23Rd of October evening. As it is the first time Chiranjeevi and Ramcharan acted together in the film, the mega fans were worried that if the movie registers disastrous ratings they will be trolled again, so everyone was waiting for the declaration of official TRP ratings.

Acharya delivered 6.3 TRPs in its first Television Premiere. In HD+SD it got a 7.1 rating. As said above Acharya was a washout at the box office and it faced outright rejection from the audience. So considering that it can be said that the film has delivered decent TRP ratings.

Acharya starred Megastar Chiranjeevi in the main role and Mega Power Star Ramcharan in an important role, the movie was directed by Koratala Siva. The film is an action entertainer made in the backdrop of Naxalism.

In this, Chiranjeevi appeared in the role of Acharya who faced the injustices happening in an area called Dharmasthali. Charan appeared in the role of Siddha, a young priest. The movie is shrouded with disaster talk as the director Koratala Siva failed in interestingly telling the story.

Mega fans were very disappointed with the film. They felt that Chiranjeevi has done 150 films, but no director has done such a bad movie with him, it just made them speechless not knowing what to tell and how to overcome the debacle of Acharya.

Even when it was streamed on OTT, it got a mixed response. Koratala Siva has worked for this movie not only as a director but also he was involved in the business of this movie. After the result, there were several kinds of rumors emerged about his financial problems. Koratala Siva has not made any official confirmation on the issue though.

We all know how the Kamal Haasan movie ‘Vikram’ has created a sensation at the box office. Beast was also the highest-viewed Diwali movie overall on Tamil TV channels this year. Notably, Ajith’s Viswasam continued its High-TRP streak this Diwali as well, and the movie even surpassed new film premieres in terms of this viewership which is astonishing.

Kantara is becoming unstoppable at the box office. The film is on rampage mode and it now crossed the 50 crores gross mark in the Hindi version. The film is very consistent in the Hindi version continuously collecting 2 Crores net daily in Hindi belts.

At the current trend, the film is on the way to easily collecting 100 Cr gross only in Hindi version. Kantara proves that the only content is the King in the Hindi market, where even their star films have released movies for Diwali but Kantara is collecting more than those two films.

Kantara is now neck to neck with Ram Setu in day-wise numbers while Thank God has been left far behind. Bollywood Trade circles are shocked to see the big stars and big-budget films are failing at the Hindi box office and a small film from the South language is doing great numbers at the box office.

Recently the news came that Kantara is going to stream on OTT from November 4, but the trade circles and the audience felt that the makers should wait at least one month to stream the movie on OTT.

And yesterday another piece of news came that Kantara will stream on OTT from November 18 which makes the gap between the theatrical release and OTT release exactly 50 days.
