Megastar Chiranjeevi again failed to do 100 Crores theatrical business with Waltair Veerayya

It is known that Megastar Chiranjeevi was an unbeatable box office bonanza who ruled the industry for 3 decades. But these days, due to his recent flop movies or age factor, he is taking back seat in the movie market.

His movies are struggling to reach the 100 crore pre-release theatrical business, which is a norm for a Star Hero’s movie. This is a significant drop compared to Acharya which got theatrical business deal amounting to 130 crores. But it is being said that the failure of Acharya is one of the strongest reasons for the downfall of Chiranjeevi as a star.

The current generation superstars are getting crazy deals, easily crossing 100 crores mark. Chiru also used to enjoy such craze in market, but everything changed drastically with the debacle of Acharya.

Market demand for Chiranjeevi movies shrunk since then, Godfather didn’t get good deals, so makers went for own release. Continuing this lukewarm response, Waltair Veerayya failed to get 100 crores deals.

The movie’s Ceded rights have been sold at 15Cr, Andhra ratio is 42Cr, Nizam is valued at 22Cr. The approx total of the Telugu states business is 79Cr. ROI and overseas will be around 16Cr. Total business is 95Cr approximately.

Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi fans are a bit disappointed with this business as they thought their favorite hero would regain his glory back. Also, Waltair Veerayya being pakka mass entertainer has additional attractions like Raviteja in an important role, Sruthi hassan as heroine and DSP’s music still it failed to reach the 100 Crores mark which is surprising everyone.

Balakrishna is interested to work with Venkatesh Maha instead of Parasuram for his next project

Movies are full of surprises, some are unforeseen even in our wild imaginations. One such combination is in talks. Ever since Balakrishna attended the pre-release event of Allu Sirish’s Urvasivo Rakshasivo movie, interesting news have been coming out on Balayya’s future projects.

Parasuram openly announced that he will be narrating a script for this Nandamuri hero under Geeta Arts production. This movie is currently in discussion stages and may be the film Balayya would be doing after his association with Anil Ravipudi.

However, another young director also showed keen interest to direct Balayya. He is none other than Venkatesh Maha, the director of C/O Kancharapalem. He is known to make humanistic and realistic dramas with strong performances.

Sources claim that Balayya was impressed by Venkatesh Maha’s script more than Parasuram’s story. Hence, planning is being made to make a movie with Venkatesh Maha under Balayya’s favorite producer Varahi productions. The banner has already made Legend with Balakrishna and Boyapati combination.

This crazy combination is unique as Balayya is known to work with mass directors mostly. Now it will be interesting to see Balakrishna in the direction of Venkatesh Maha.

Although Balayya did diverse movies in the past with different directors like Singeetam srinivas, Bapu etc. These days he is only working with Mass directors. Let’s hope this rare combination works out and brings the best out of both.

Vijay Devarakonda is in dilemma about his next project selection

Vijay Devarakonda rose to star status in a short span of time. His initial movies like Pelli Chupulu, Arjun Reddy and Geeta Govindam brought this star status. Problems in story selection started for him since then.

Situation worsened after Liger. In delivering a Mass entertainer, Liger has gone haywire. The movie also made everyone doubt Vijay’s script selection.

Vijay was so confident about such bizarre script that at one point wanted to make a sequel for Liger. The result would’ve changed the thought process of Vijay completely.

Liger disaster is making Vijay to analyze his choices. Looks like Vijay is in a dilemma regarding his future movies. He has already kept many directors like Harish Shankar, Parasuram, Buchibabu etc. in his waiting list.

This kind of turmoil is not new for star heroes. Legends like Megastar Chiranjeevi also took time before Hitler movie to analyze about the drawbacks behind failures. Mahesh and Jr NTR also faced similar situations a few years back and emerged out stronger, Such rethinking is necessary to bounce back.

All it takes is a one comeback film for Vijay Devarakonda. It must bring his sensibilities and mass elements together for the best results. Hope he make steps in that direction with a director who can balance both.

Kannada blockbuster Kantara box office collections are on a roll and it added another feather to its cap. The movie is creating wonders through its box office performance and has now surpassed the worldwide collections of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise.

With strong collections everywhere, Kantara has crossed the 350Cr mark worldwide and has crossed Pushpa in the process. This Rishab Shetty film is now heading towards the 400Cr mark.

Directed by Rishab Shetty who acted in the lead role as well, this small film has done the unthinkable by getting extraordinary reviews and box-office records both at once. Very few films have achieved both.

The film features Rishab Shetty in the lead role as a Kambala champion, Kantara also features Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, and Sapthami Gowda in supporting roles.
