Trivikram disappointed with music director Thaman’s work

Writer/Director Trivikram is known for his wonderful taste of music, and he takes care of the lyrics for his songs well. In his entire career, there’s no film without great audio, which speaks volumes about his track record.

Thaman also has delivered his best for Trivikram with Aravinda Sametha and Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo films. While AVP had a blockbuster album, Aravinda Sametha didn’t have such great album, but the background music by thaman received a lot of appreciation. So, it is natural to expect something big from this Combo when they’re going to work with Superstar Mahesh Babu.

However, if the latest reports about SSMB 28 are to be believed, things are not working well between Trivikram and Thaman. The team planned a song shoot in February 1st week but Trivikram didn’t like the tune options of Thaman and told him to rework on the music.

The song shoot has been postponed because of this. Trivikram is very particular about songs in his films. As said above, all his films have good, songs, so he is in no mood to compromise regarding the music.

Mahesh Babu’s SSMB28 is one of the most anticipated movies in Tollywood. Trivikram and Mahesh will reunite after 12 years, and fans have placed plenty of expectations on this project. Pooja Hegde and Sree Leela will play leads in this project directed by Trivikram.

Pooja Hegde will be paired opposite Mahesh Babu for the second time after Maharshi while the rest of the cast details will be revealed soon. Naveen Nooli will handle the editing duties, while Haarika and Haasinie Creations are backing the project.

Earlier there were many rumors that they will make this film as a pan India film, but producer Naga Vamsi clarified in a recent interview that SSMB28 will be an out-and-out Telugu Film.

OTT platforms worried about Varisu and Thunivu HD version leakage

Varisu and Thunivu will be soon making their way to OTT platforms once their theatrical run nears an end. The OTT release of Thunivu has been announced and it will stream on Netflix from 8th February and Varisu OTT release is scheduled on 22nd February. However, there’s one big concern that OTT giants are facing and that is piracy.

Both Varisu and Thunivu HD have been released online which makes OTT platforms worried as they bought the rights to both films for a big price. The leaked Varisu and Thunivu HD versions are already trending on social media and if rampant piracy like this goes on, OTT giants might have to reconsider purchasing streaming rights of movies for big prices.

Thunivu vs Varisu was an interesting clash for two reasons. Firstly, it was after 8 years that these Kollywood stars were clashing. Before Thunivu vs Varisu, it was Veeram vs Jilla back in 2014. Secondly, the movies were totally contrasting in genre. While Ajith came up with an action heist film, Vijay came up with a family drama.  Now it needs to be seen how the audience responds to the films once they release digitally.

Summer releases:

No big summer release; an advantage to medium-budget films

Summer is usually a busy month for Tollywood with several biggies being lined up always. Over the years, the summer release phenomenon has been huge in Tollywood and the months of April and May in particular have seen several blockbusters and industry hits. Summer 2023 was also expected to be an exciting one with Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Bhola Shankar up for release. However, it doesn’t seem to be happening anymore.

Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Bhola Shankar were planned for summer but now both movies are out of the summer race. So this means there won’t be any big releases in summer and there is a huge advantage to medium and small-budget films.

This summer is packed with continuous medium-budget movie releases. Nani’s Dasara, Akhil’s Agent, Vijay Deverakonda’s Kushi, Naga Chaitanya’s Hunt, Samantha’s Shaakuntalam, Ravi Teja’s Ravanusara, Nikhil’s Spy, Hanuman, and several other films also aiming for this much-contested Summer release slot.

Naga Chaitanya, Akhil, Nani, and Vijay Deverakonda are eager for a big hit as their last movies didn’t fare well at the box office. Samantha would also be looking to make a strong comeback and Ravi Teja and Nikhil would be looking to continue their golden run at the box office. With no Tier-1 hero release schedule, this is the best chance for the above movies to hit the box-office jackpot.

Leo Bloody Sweet Promo

Thalapathy 67: Leo title teaser is disappointing and looks very similar to Nagarjuna’s movie

The much-awaited teaser of Vijay’s Latest film under the direction of Lokesh Kanagaraj has been released today. The film was tentatively called Thalapathy 67 until now, got an official name, Leo–Bloody Sweet. The fans of Vijay have been waiting for the news for a while now. On top of getting to know the title, fans were also looking forward to seeing if the teaser hints anything whether or not the upcoming film is set in Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).

However, after watching teaser everyone are comparing it with Vikram teaser and Leo Teaser is nowhere near Vikram teaser. The audience have got bored by the teaser itself because of length and the music was too just okayish.

LEO Teaser

The promo is similar to Vikram’s title reveal video. In the Vikram promo, Kamal Haasan was making a South Indian spread for a group of police officials and politicians. Here in the new promo, Vijay is preparing a variety of chocolate. Vijay makes a sword in the intercut. The clip ends with a battalion of cars reaching his home, and we see the actor wielding a sword dripping with chocolate.

The teaser also looks like a resemblance of Nagarjuna’s Ghost movie’s tamahgane promo. The irony is, The Ghost itself was inspired from Vikram. Overall, the teaser has failed to create an impact like Vikram according to the netizens.

The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial Leo stars Vijay in the titular role, while Sanjay Dutt, Mathew Thomas, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Arjun Sarja, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand and Sandy will be seen in other crucial roles. The film will hit theaters on October 19 this year.
