Venkatesh and Mohan Lal made the costliest mistake and missed a big opportunity

Some decisions eventually become big regrets. However, one cannot change them. Such mistake was done by Victory Venkatesh and Lalettan Mohan Lal. They were the lead actors of Drishyam and it’s sequel Drishyam 2 in Telugu and Malayalam languages respectively. However, both the movies got released on OTT platforms. 

The decision of going to direct OTT release is probably a costly mistake. The latest release of Drishyam 2 Hindi version is creating box office storm. It has surpassed all expectations and is becoming a sensational hit.

As Bollywood is undergoing a slump, trade circles are worried about the future of Bollywood. South movies are contributing around 60% of multiplex revenue in India. In this situation, Drishyam 2 is a major relief for Bollywood. 

Venkatesh had previously made a similar mistake with Asuran remake, Narappa. The movie is ideal for mass audiences and B centers. The same happened with Drishyam 2, which has all the elements to bring masses and families to theaters. Hope Venkatesh realizes it sooner or later.

It has broken the opening day record of this year’s one of the blockbusters, Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 which earned Rs 14.11 crore on the day of its release. The film has earned Rs 15.38 crore on Friday.

ఈ చిత్రం 2 వారాల్లో ఏకంగా 60 కోట్ల గ్రాస్ వసూలు చేసి డ్రీమ్ రన్ ను చూస్తుంది. ఇది ఒక కొత్త హీరోకి భారీ స్థాయి విజయమని చెప్పాలి. తెలుగు వెర్షన్‌ను కూడా నవంబర్ 25 నుండి విడుదల చేయడానికి సన్నాహాలు చేస్తున్నారు.

Piracy has been a longstanding problem for movies across the world. High quality content leaks are harming film businesses. Producers are taking care, but somehow these leaks aren’t stopping. One such incident recently is harming Kollywood.

Love Today is having a blockbuster run at the box office, but the movie’s HD print got leaked online by miscreants.

The film is having dream run by collecting 60 crores gross in 2 weeks which is huge for a debutant hero. The Telugu version is also being planned for the release from 25th November.

However, the leakage might dent the box office run. This is the era of OTT where content if available online will be preferred to be watched online. Producers and distributors are now worrying about the fate of the movie.

The movie is acted, written and directed by Pradeep Ranganatham, Ivana is the lead actress. Sathyaraj – Radhika Sarathkumar – Yogi Babu – Raveena Ravi played other lead roles.

Pradeep has made this movie with elements that reflect the feelings of today’s youth as a romantic comedy entertainer ‘Love Today’ will be released in Telugu states under SVC banner. Recently, Rowdy star Vijay Deverakonda launched the Telugu trailer and wished the entire team.

Produced under the AGS Entertainment banner, Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music for this film. It has to be seen how much this Tamil blockbuster movie will impress the Telugu audience.

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 2 has recorded one of the best advance sales of tickets for any Hindi film this year, and the same has been reflected clearly in the film’s opening day box office collections. It has broken the opening day record of this year’s one of the blockbusters, Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 which earned Rs 14.11 crore on the day of its release. The film has earned Rs 15.38 crore on Friday.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared on Twitter, “#Drishyam2 REJUVENATES the industry that was going through a turbulent phase after a string of failures… Takes a FLYING START on Day 1 SECOND-BIGGEST START of 2022 [outright #Hindi films] ₹ 50 CR+ weekend on the cards Fri ₹ 15.38 CR. #India biz.”

The number is remarkably better than many films starring Top Bollywood Stars like Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar. While Aamir’s Laal Singh Chaddha earned Rs 11.70 crore on its opening day, Akshay Kumar collected Rs 10.70 crore on Day 1.

Drishyam 2 is having a stronghold in the multiplex chains like PVR, INOX and Cinepolis where the film has collectively earned Rs 7.40 crore, reported by Bollywood Trade Circles. Drishyam 2 becomes one of the rare good openers this year for Bollywood apart from Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra which did a business of Rs 36 crore on the day of its release. Bhool Bhulaiya-2 and Ramsetu also had good opening day numbers.

After a very dull phase of the Bollywood, Drishyam 2 opening with 15Cr+ net on day1 is a welcoming sign for the industry. Going by the trends, even for day2 and day3, the thriller is getting excellent advance bookings.

Bollywood is literally waiting for this kind of opening and Blockbuster success at the box office as only Brahmastra is the only biggie which has performed at the box office this year, the film was a huge budget and Pan Indian movie, promotions were done for this movie very aggressively.

But a film like Drishyam 2 scoring big proves once again that the right content will bring the audience to theaters. Also, the film being a sequel has helped it garner the attention of the audience.

Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the sequel to 2015 film by the same name features Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles with Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Rajat Kapoor in supporting roles.

The shooting of NTR – Koratala Siva’s film postponed again

NTR – Koratala Siva’s NTR30 has now faced another delay much to the frustration of the fans. Firstly the movie schedule was expected to start in June and since then it’s getting postponed continuously. There was a rumour floating earlier that the movie was called off as Jr NTR was not impressed with the script.

But recently production team denied the rumours by releasing an official poster with a pre-production update. This gave a great boost to the fans and everyone thought the movie shoot will start in December or January beginning.

However, from the way things are progressing it appears that the shooting schedule can only start in February. It is still unclear what’s happening in this team and why there are continuously delaying the schedules. As of now, it will take another 3 months time to start the shooting.

NTR – Koratala Siva’s NTR30 has already faced multiple delays because of changes to the script and fans are now becoming restless. Koratala Siva is quite confident in the subject. He earlier said that it will be a new genre in Indian cinema. The backdrop is completely new and no one has touched it before.

Balakrishna confirms again he is debuting into direction in the next year

Nandamuri Balakrishna is unstoppable in true sense. He is on cloud nine with blockbuster Akhanda, grand success of his talk show in Aha. Now he is venturing into direction as well with the sequel to his yesteryear classic, Aditya 369.

Viswak Sen’s upcoming movie Dhamki’s trailer has been launched by Balakrishna. In the event, Balakrishna has shared exciting news about his directorial venture. He is keen to direct the sequel of aditya 369, and its title is Aditya 999.

Balakrishna revealed that ‘Aditya 999’ will go on the sets in next year and preparations are being made to start regular shooting after another four months, in February, the Pooja programs of this movie will be held. It is heard that along with Balakrishna, his son Mokshagna is also likely to act in this prestigious sequel.

Balayya is a daring personality, he has already tried once to direct a movie called Narthanashala based on Hindu epic, Mahabharata. However, due to the untimely demise of Soundarya, the project stalled and never taken off. Since then, Aditya999 is in his mind, and he is eager to direct and act in it.

Actors turning into direction is nothing new. Legends like Sr. NTR, Krishna, Kamal Hassan etc. have tried direction with varying degree of success. With so much experience as an actor, Balakrishna could bring in his perspective as a director.

However, Aditya 369 is a timeless classic which is a perfect movie of all sorts. Touching such a movie is a risky business as expectations will be sky-high. If the sequel isn’t handled well, it may bring bad name to the brand Aditya 369. Hope Balayya succeeds on this mission and deliver yet another classic to tollywood and Indian cinema as well.

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara is creating wonders at the box-office. Every day new reports of new records are emerging and the film is adding one feather after another to its hat! Kantara recently crossed mighty KGF2 gross numbers and shares in Karnataka. The film opened with 2Cr gross in Karnataka and collected more than 175Cr gross now.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Godfather was released amidst decent hype and opened to poor collections at the box office and continued to maintain the same poor run. Despite the positive talk, the movie suffered to attract audiences into the theatres.

While many called it Chiranjeevi’s comeback film, the theatrical numbers beg to differ. We can only hope that his upcoming films have a lot more to offer.

The remake of Lucifer, Godfather is now finally streaming on OTT. The film did not have a lot of takers in theaters but it might do well on OTT because of the curiosity of the Telugu audiences.

It is now streaming on Netflix in both Telugu and Hindi. While the Telugu version still performed okay, it is the Hindi version that was disastrous. Even though it had Salman Khan, it couldn’t compete with the movies released around that time.

Godfather also stars Satyadev, Nayanthara, Brahmaji and a bunch of other actors. Mohan Raja is the director of the movie and Thaman S is the music director. Konidela Productions have bankrolled the project.
