Dasara breaks the record of Liger and sets a new benchmark

Nani’s Dasara has released today amid superb buzz and hype around it. The box office expectations are also high for this film, and the talk from early shows and premiers is pretty good. Dasara was expected to score big numbers not only in AP/TG but also in the USA region.

The record in the USA Premiers was on the nane of Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger which registered the biggest premier opening in tier 2 Heroes and Nani’s Dasara is on now on track to collect 650K+ in premiers. Liger collected 505K and Dasara will break the number with a very big margin and set a new benchmark for Tier 2 Heroes.

USA has always been the forte of Nani as his films always collect a good amount of numbers. Now with Dasara he once again registered the biggest premier number and set a new benchmark.

Directed by Srikanth Odela, Dasara’s music has been composed by Santhosh Narayanan and Sathyan Sooryan ISC handled cinematography. Navin Nooli is the editor and Avinash Kolla is the production designer of the film, and Vijay Chaganti is the executive producer. Sudhakar Cherukuri is the producer.

The film stars Nani, Keerthy Suresh, Dheekshith Shetty, Samuthirakani, Zarina Wahab, Sai Kumar and Rajsekhar Aningi. The film is released in theaters today in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film is set against the backdrop of Singareni coal mines near Ramagundam’s Godavarikhani of Telangana.

Adipurush team disappoints again with new poster

After all the negativity that cropped up after the Adipurush teaser launch last year, it was expected that the upcoming updates would be of better standards and quality. Over the past few weeks, fans have been waiting in anticipation for the Sri Rama Navami update While the update has been released as hoped for, it has received major backlash even from the fans.

A poster was released to mark Sri Rama Navami but it has given a major shock to everyone and left nothing but dismay. The fans and audience eagerly waiting to see better quality from the Adipurush team have been saddened again and the poster looks the same as older ones. Prabhas’ looks along with Sunny Singh and Kriti Sanon’s appearance as Sita are truly sub-par and the poster looks quite low quality.

It is baffling and tough to understand why the team is releasing these kinds of posters continuously. They should have come up with some new and better-quality posters. The makers now need to come up with some well-planned promotional content to create the required buzz for the film and also by doing so they can confirm the release date with a new poster or video.

The movie has already attracted widespread negativity because of its poor VFX works. Om Raut and team are spending a lot of time on post-production and trying to give better visual output and this process has resulted in huge budget inflation. Adipurush is planned for release later this year and will hit the screens on June 16th.

After Sankranti big releases, Nani’s Dasara is the film released with massive hype among the audience. The bookings also have been extraordinary. Trade circles also set many expectations on the film’s box office performance. Let’s see whether Dasara has met the expectations are not.

According to the talk from early shows,Director Srikanth Odela has successfully created the world of Veerlapally with a Telangana rural backdrop. The friendship scenes between Dharani and Suri came out very well, and the BGM given by Santosh Narayanan is also said to be Extraordinary, and it elevated the intensity in many scenes.

The film is high on intense and consists of raw nature, as the posters and trailers suggested. The audience is also saying this is the career best performance from Nani and Keerthy Suresh, Deekshit Shetty have also done an excellent job.

It is being said the main drawback for the film is the slowness of the film, and a few scenes which were ineffective and tested the patience. The Songs in the film are just decent on screen and not as the audience expected.

Despite these minus points, the movie is said to be definitely a must-watch film in theaters for Nani’s performance, story, splendid interval block and a few extraordinary scenes. Overall, Dasara team delivered a good film and as per the audience, the talk is above average to decent which is enough for the hype and buzz around the film.

The much-awaited Nani’s Dasara is finally here and film lovers’ curiosity and support for the film can be gauged by the solid bookings and positive initial talk. Starring Nani and Keerthy Suresh in the lead role, Dasara has made huge noise both online as well as offline ever since it was announced. The posters and other promotional content added even further to the movie’s hype. Let’s check out if this action entertainer has managed to stand on its promise.

Story: Dasara is a story of three childhood friends- Dharani (Nani), Vennela (Keerthy), and Suri (Dheekshith). Set in the 90s in Veerapally village in Telangana, Dasara’s plot revolves around how these lives get entangled and change forever due to politics, coal mining, and Silk Bar.

Performances:  Nani is undoubtedly the showstopper and shines throughout the movie like its brightest star. His body language, mannerisms, and accent have all undergone a complete transformation and he has truly looked natural in each of these departments. Dasara is the most intense and energetic performance of Nani’s career and will surely fetch great accolades. Keerthy Suresh as Vennela and Dheekshith Shetty as Suri play a great second fiddle to Nani in their respective scenes. The friendship angle between the trio has been well captured and some first-half scenes between Suri and Dharani are a treat to watch. Shine Tom Chacko, Sai Kumar, Samuthirakani, and others provide good support and are well-cast for their roles.


Analysis: Dasara is a force of the wind that starts pretty strong and brings along all the elements to capture the audience’s attention. It’s towards the interval where the movie achieves its peak with a terrific interval block. The second half is where the mad intensity and rawness look to fade out. And this should have been taken care of through crispier screenplay and slick writing. Srikanth Odela takes us effortlessly into the world of Veerapally and engages us with the characters pretty with surprising ease. Barring the second half screenplay in parts, the movie provides an immersive experience throughout. The runtime could have been trimmed to make the plot more engaging and gripping but that aside, Dasara definitely succeeds in its intentions.

Verdict: 

Dasara has everything for everyone. It’s a bouquet of emotions and has all the elements required for a commercial film. At the same time, it’s not about mindless entertainment, the flow of emotions, and the character’s arc all feel pretty organic and credit goes to Srikanth Odela and Nani for bringing the world of Dasara to life. Pacier narration and chopping out some unnecessary parts would have made the film even more engaging. But overall, it’s definitely a watch-worthy film for the weekend.

The trailer of Ponniyin Selvan 2, the long-awaited second installment of Mani Ratnam’s Magnum opus, was released last night at a great trailer launch event in Chennai. The Tamil audience and industry circle media groups were eagerly waiting for the launch of the trailer.

It is very well known to everyone that the first part of Ponniyin Selvan was liked by the Tamil people only and that’s the reason the movie had under performed in other languages and now the trailer of the 2nd part has also given the same feel.

The audience felt bore after watching the trailer, and they found it difficult to complete the full trailer because it tests the patience as it goes with no highs and as said above, even this part of Ponniyin Selvan also looks targeted at the Tamil audience only.

Ponniyin Selvan is based on the famous novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy about the life of Raja Raja Chozhan. With a screenplay written by Mani Ratnam, Jeyamohan and Kumaravel, the first film, set in the 10th century, showed how a power struggle between different branches of the ruling Chola family started causing violent rifts. The second film is expected to further dug deeper into the story, with narration showing how the Cholas became the most affluent and powerful empire on the continent and one of the most successful and long reigning in history.

The film comprises a huge star cast that includes Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, and Jayam Ravi. Ashwin Kakumanu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Parthiban, Lal, and Mohan Raman are also part of the cast.

The music of the film is scored by AR Rahman, and the cinematography has been handled by Ravi Varman, editing by Sreekar Prasad, production design by Thotta Tharani, dialogues by Jeyamohan, costumes by Eka Lakhani, make-up by Vikram Gaikwad, and choreography by Brinda.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu revealed that she was asked not to take up the item song Oo Antava from Pushpa after her divorce was announced. She said to them that she did not want to stay at home.

Pushpa: The Rise, the blockbuster is popular not just for the performances of Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. The item song Oo Antava, starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, became a nationwide sensation as well. The actress said that she had received the offer while she was separated from her ex-husband, actor Naga Chaitanya, and her close family and friends advised her against it. However, her first instinct was to take it as she wanted to avoid staying at home with all the negative news.

The actress will next be seen in Shaakuntalam, in which she plays the title role opposite Dev Mohan who appears as king Dushyanta. Since her divorce in 2021, Samantha has been selective in the selection of projects in which she shows up. Her special appearance, in Pushpa’s special number was the first thing she picked up after her breakup was announced. Her family and close friends felt she should not have done it.

In an interview with media, Samantha recalled how she didn’t want to hide away during her divorce proceedings. She said, “When I was offered ‘Oo Antava’, it was in the middle of the separation [from Naga]. After the announcement came, every well-wisher and every family member was like ‘You will sit at home, you will not do an item song just when you have announced the separation’. Even my friends, who always encouraged me to challenge myself, told me, ‘Do not do an item song’. But I was like, ‘Ok, I am doing it”

We will also see Samantha in the Telugu film Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda. Written and directed by Shiva Nirvana, they will release it on September 1, 2023. She is currently filming for the Indian adaptation of the Prime Video series Citadel with Varun Dhawan. Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, also known as Raj and DK are directing the series. She had worked with the filmmakers on the second season of The Family Man, in which we saw her as the antagonist.

Official: Venkatesh’s next film saindhav’s release date is out

Venkatesh Daggubati is doing his 75th film with HIT franchise fame director Sailesh Kolenu, the film is titled Saindhav. Venkatesh was spotted in a rugged look in all the posters and implied that the movie will be high on action. The makers have announced Saindhav’s release date.
