With less than 2 months to go before the release of the pan-India biggie, the makers are getting ready for massive nationwide promotions. The team is in plans to release the highly anticipated theatrical trailer in selected theaters around India on 8th May. In the recent days, there have been a few rumors emerged that Bhola Shankar movie is postponing its release, but the team has released Chiranjeevi’s posters today and clearly mentioned the release date is August 11th only.

Today, on the occasion of Labour Day, the Bholaa Shankar movie team released a few special posters of Chiranjeevi from the film. They wished the workers and labourers a happy May Day and mentioned that the film team honors and celebrates it with every worker out there. The posters feature Chiranjeevi as a taxi driver in Kolkata.

Ponniyin Selvan 2 garners impressive box office collections in its opening weekend

Ponniyin Selvan 2 does well in its opening weekend as in Tamil Nadu the movie has collected 53 Crores Gross and in Kerala, it amassed 8.5 Crores Gross. While In Telugu States the film was able to collect 8 Crores Gross, the combined number of Karnataka and ROI will be around 20 Crores Gross and in Overseas the numbers are around $9M. Overall, the 1st weekend worldwide gross of Ponniyin Selvan 2 will be around 165 Crores.

Touted as Mani Ratnam’s dream project, Ponniyin Selvan 2 was released in the theaters on Friday and received a good response from the audience and critics as well. The film, though a bit under performed on the opening day, the numbers raised on day 2 as expected by the trade circles, and it continues the good run at the box office in its opening weekend.

The story of Ponniyin Selvan 2 explores the past love story between Aditha Karikalan and Nandini, how they were separated and what made Nandini to seek vengeance on Chola Kingdom. The narrative also follows Arunmozhi Varman’s rise as the renowned emperor Rajaraja Chola.

The film comprises a huge star cast that includes Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, and Jayam Ravi. Ashwin Kakumanu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Parthiban, Lal, and Mohan Raman are also part of the cast. The movie is Produced by Madras Talkies in association with Lyca Productions.

Dhee Choreographer Chaitanya Committed Suicide

The Choreographer Chaitanya, who became famous after appearing in the popular Telugu Dance show Dhee, has committed suicide on 30 April. He released a very emotional video message before the suicide. According to the information, Chaitanya had taken out loans and as he could not repay them, he felt pressurized by the financial commitments and took the unfortunate and drastic step.

In his video message, shared by a fan on Twitter, Chaitanya said, “My mom, dad, and sister took good care of me and ensured I didn’t face any problems. My sincere apologies to all my friends. I bothered many people, and my apologies to all.”

He also added, “I lost my goodness regarding money matters. Not just taking loans, but one should have the capacity to repay them. But I couldn’t do it. Currently, I am in Nellore, and this is my last day. I cannot bear the problems associated with my loans.”

Raviteja’s Ravanusara was released with a decent buzz as he was on a streak with Dhamaka and Waltair Veerayya, but the film miserably failed at the box office. Choreographer and Hero Lawrence’s Rudrudu opened with decent numbers on day 1 but ended up as a failure. Lawrence’s mass pulse helped the film to register good openings but the terrible content and talk dented the film’s numbers from the next day.

Sai Dharam Tej’s Virupaksha came up with a low buzz before the release but with the help of positive talk became a massive blockbuster and the film is having a terrific run at the box office. Congress demands ban on The Kerala Story

Controversy has erupted over the release of the trailer of ‘The Kerala Story’ According to the Kerala opposition parties led by Congress, the film has been made with the intention to “sow communal divisions in society through false claims.”

On the other hand, Sudipto Sen the film’s director stated that “The Kerala Story,” which he wrote as well, “unearths” the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of “roughly 32,000 women” in the southern state who have reportedly been converted, and sent on terrorist missions throughout India and the rest of the world.

“Permission should not be given to screen the film which falsely claims that 32,000 women in Kerala have been converted into Islam and became members of ISIS,” a senior Congress leader said.

The trailer which was released last week is shaking the Kerala state and the Congress, party and even the Chief Minister, P Vijayan have lashed out for the exaggerated claims of the movie. The government and several national-level leaders of Congress like Shashi Tharoor have also spoken about the need to ban this movie.

The Kerala Story’ is backed by Sunshine Pictures Private Limited, founded by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who serves as the producer, creative director and co-writer on the film

Virupaksha 10 days worldwide box office collections

Sai Dharam Tej’s Virupaksha has emerged as a massive success at the box office and has been drawing crowds continuously. The film entered its second week on a sensational note and performed exceedingly well on weekdays as well. The poor show of new releases like Agent further helped Virupaksha in continuing its momentum.

Virupaksha has so far collected Rs 30Cr share in Telugu states and Rs 4.5 crores from overseas along with Rs 2.25 cr from the Rest of India. Overall, the worldwide share is around 36.75 Cr which is an extraordinary performance for this mystery horror.

If the inside reports are to be believed, Naga Chaitanya will do his next film with Naandhi and Ugram director Vijay Kanakamedala. It is being said that presently Vijay and his team or working on the script, which is said to be a social drama.

It is very well known to everyone that Naandhi was a comeback movie for Allari Naresh, who came up against a wave of flops before it. Vijay Kanakamedala impressed everybody with his directing skills. After Naandhi, Vijay was supposed to do a film with Naga Chaitanya. Vijay told that due to a difference of opinion regarding the climax, the project did not materialize.

After that, Vijay once again went back to Allari Naresh for Ugram, which is slated to be released on this Friday, i.e. May 5th. As the title suggests, the film will show the violent character of the protagonist. But that’s not all. The movie seems to deal with a serious issue, going by the trailer. Ugram movie is produced by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi under the banner of Shine Screens. Mirnaa played the female lead. Abburi Ravi wrote the dialogues, while Toom Venkat provided the story.

Incidentally, Naga Chaitanya’s next film, Custody, is releasing after a week from Ugram on May 12th. We hope that this time the script discussions between Vijay Kanakamedala and Naga Chaitanya will succeed and they both will make a successful film.

The movie tells us the story of Ricky (Akhil), who is very passionate and a wild spirit who wants to be a raw agent from childhood due to an incident. Mahadev (Mammootty) scouts and takes Ricky under his wing and handpick him to get the best of a rogue ex-agent Devil (Dino Morea). A straightforward mission goes haywire and Ricky is now the target. How Ricky solves this problem and how he serves his nation is what the story is all about.

Agent has been produced by Ramabrahmam Sunkara under AK Entertainments and Surender 2 Cinema, with Ajay Sunkara, Pathi Deepa Reddy, performed as executive producers. The film has been edited by National Award winner Naveen Noolii while Rasool Ellore cranked the camera. Malayalam Megastar Mammootty and Bollywood Actor Dino Morea appeared in key roles in the movie.
