Japan is the highest grossing overseas country for RRR

RRR’s release has been an unprecedented success bringing in never imagined collections. RRR released in Japan in October last year and has broken every single record for an Indian release both in terms of footfalls as well as collections. NTR, Ram Charan, and Rajamouli had visited the easternmost country during its premieres for promotions and it is safe to say that even they would not have expected this level of love for the film.

The movie is still doing terrific numbers and Japan has become the highest-grossing overseas territory for RRR beating the USA. The Japanese collections now stand at $13.75 million beating USA collections which are at $13.7 million. The movie had initially released to lesser-than-expected openings but gradually picked up the pace beating all others. The Oscar win of Naatu Naatu also helped the movie’s popularity and the collections saw a great surge post the event.

This multistarrer action blockbuster became the highest-grossing Indian film in Japan. The film crossed Muthu’s record that has been standing for more than 2 decades in the easternmost country.

After Muthu, Baahubali was also received quite well in Japan earning both Prabhas and Rana great adulation from the local fans. And now, RRR has also managed to win the hearts of the Japanese.

It is very well known that Power Star Pawan Kalyan has 3 movies in his hands right now. Hari Hara Veera Mallu with Krish, OG with Sujeeth, Ustaad Gabbar Singh with Harish Shankar. Pawan Kalyan is working parallelly for these three films. He recently finished the first schedule for Ustaad Bhagat Singh and now working for OG. After that, he will move to Hari Hara Veera Mallu and as per the inside reports it is being reported that all the three makers want to release their film before the elections only.

As of now, Hari Hara Veera Mallu team is planning for the Diwali release and OG unit is planning for December release, Ustaad Bhagat Singh is almost fixed for Sankranthi release. However, we need to wait for the official confirmation of the release dates of three movies and whether the units of respective films will be successful in their plans or not.

However, it will be a very difficult and a problematic situation if three movies of a star hero like Pawan Kalyan released within the gap of three months, the business prospects and the audience expectations or impression of the films will be definitely affected by such a hastily planned releases.

Coming to the fans of PSPK, of all the three movies, they are very excited and piled up hopes on OG as the film is directed by Sujeeth who is a die hard fan of Pawan Kalyan. So Pawan fans are confident that a fanboy will present their favorite hero in a spectacular manner. Hari Hara Veera Mallu had good hype initially, but the continuous delay in the shooting have destroyed the craze around the movie.

Ustaad Bhagath Singh is a remake of Vijay’s Theri which will be a minus point for it because the film had a proper theatrical release in Telugu, and it is very much popular on television as well. How does he get to solve this mystery is what forms the rest of the story.

This movie has an ensemble cast of Sai Dharam Tej, Samyuktha Menon, Ajay, Rajeev Kanakala, Sai Chand, Brahmaji and Sunil. It was released in theaters on April 21st,2023. Vetrimaaran To Explore The World Of KGF: Filmmaker In Plans For A New Movie On The Blockbuster Franchise

One of the most successful and loved combinations in Tamil cinema, Vetrimaaran, and Dhanush will be joining forces yet again. This time, it gets bigger and massier, as Vetrimaaran will be exploring the KGF backdrop.

In a recent interview, producer Gnanavel Raja said that Vetrimaaran and Dhanush are going to be doing a film based on the KGF franchise. The duo that has already done some path-breaking films in Tamil cinema like Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Vada Chennai, and Asuran, will now combine for this magnum opus.

There is no doubt about Vterimaaran’s skill as a director. The man has delivered blockbusters with shoestring budgets. And recently, he roped in comedian Soori and turned him into an ‘Actor’ Soori.

So one can only imagine what Vetrimaaran will do given the budget and scale required for making a KGF-style film. But, there is still no news as to how this will work, whether this is a part of the franchise or is just loosely based. There was also news some time ago that Vetrimaaran will be doing a multistarrer with Dhanush and Jr.NTR. But these are just mere speculations as of now.

Dhanush is however currently busy shooting for Captain Miller and Vetrimaaran is also occupied with some projects. So, only time can tell whether this project will turn into something or just remain on the shelf.
