Official: Anni Manchi Sakunamule will stream on OTT from this weekend

Renowned banner of the Telugu Film Industry, Swapna Cinema had recently made a family entertainer Anni Manchi Sakunamule. Santosh Shoban and Malavika Nair played the lead roles in the film, while Nandini Reddy was the director. The film had received mixed reviews from both the audiences and critics. The film was released in the theaters on May 18th.

Following its release in theaters, the film is now ready for its OTT debut. The giant streaming platform, Amazon Prime Video, has revealed that Anni Manchi Sakunamule will be available for streaming from June 17. According to the official information, the film will be streamed in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages from this Friday.

Produced by Priyanka Dutt in association with Mitra Vinda Films, Dawood has written the screenplay for the film. Mickey J Meyer composed the tunes. Rajendra Prasad, Rao Ramesh, Naresh, Gauthami, Shaavukaaru Janaki, Vasuki, Vennela Kishore, Ramya Subramanian, Anju Alva Naik, and Ashwin Kumar played important roles in Anni Manchi Sakunamule.

The film tells us the story of Arya (Malavika Nair) and Rishi (Santhosh Shobhan) who are mistakenly exchanged at birth by doctors, between two warring families who have been in conflict over their ancestors’ shared properties. As Arya and Rishi grow, the conflict among families gets worse. The rest of the story is about how this dispute is sorted out, and how the families came to know about the truth about their kids.

Story: The story begins with the advice given to seven childhood friends by a face reader at a Christmas carnival. The story quickly progresses by over a decade when two of the friends, Sameer and Sheetal, celebrate their third anniversary. During the celebrations, Rishab (Suhail Nayyar) proposes Lavanya (Tamannaah Bhatia). Rishab’s unexpected move sets the path for the upcoming events of all the friends’ lives, with unknown twists and turns.

Analysis: Jee Karda tells the stories of seven childhood friends as they sail together into adulthood. Their unfailing connection enables them to face the challenges of life without fear and to live their lives according to their own conditions. They say what they think, whether by sharing their from vacation to abortion with their partner or discussing sexual relations before or after marriage. Each character tackles their individual problems while finding comfort and support in his or her group. The beauty of the show lies in their strong bond and how they learn to live their lives fully without being obliged to explain and justify their actions.

The show impresses with the apt casting for almost every character, and the performances were also natural. However, the series slowly turns into a regular outing which explores the lives of rich class youth with a less impact on the emotional side. The premise had the potential to be an enjoyable and compelling ride at the same time. However the narrative falls short because of the lack of connectivity factor with the characters. If only the writing had been deeper and genuine, the overall effect of the show could have been better.

Performances: Tamannaah Bhatia was too good as she performs effortlessly in the character along with the glamour show. Suhail Nayyar was impressive while Aashim Gulati, Anya Singh, Hussain Dalal, Sayan Banerjee, Simon Singh and Samvedna Suwalka all others were apt.

Tamil Hero Siva Karthikeyan is constructing a new multiplex in Chennai. He will collaborate with Asian Cinemas to open his own multiplex, apparently named ASK (Asian Siva Karthikeyan Cinemas).

The renowned exhibition firm Asian Cinemas have been building and opening multiplex theaters with leading actors in the Telugu film industry. Already they have become partners with Superstar Mahesh Babu and Icon Star Allu Arjun and built AMB Cinemas and AAA Cinemas in Hyderabad. Yesterday at the opening ceremony of AAA Cinemas, Sunil Narang of Asian Cinemas said they will be collaborating with Siva Karthikeyan soon.

In the Tamil cinema, currently none of the actors have their own theaters in Chennai. Siva Karthikeyan will be the first hero to have his own theater. Siva Karthikeyan’s upcoming film Maaveeran was slated to be released on the Independence Weekend, but the film got advanced to July second week because of Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer.

Mandela director Madonne Ashwin who had won the National Award for the film, has directed Maaveeran, starring Siva Karthikeyan and Aditi Shankar in the lead roles. In Maaveeran, Sivakarthikeyan reportedly essays the role of a cartoonist. The film’s music is composed by Bharath Shankar. The cinematographer is Vidhu Ayyanna while the editor is Philomin Raj.

A new Telugu web series called Shaitan Directed by Mahi V Raghav, is streaming on OTT from today in popular platform Disney+Hotstar. The trailer of Saithan web series was released on Monday. The trailer had been criticized on social media for its vulgar dialogues and explicit content.

The trailer was full of vulgar dialogues and sexual/violent scenes. Looking at the trailer, the audience were surprised that Mahi V Raghav who has made clean films and series so far, has made the Saithan series which is completely rustic in contrast to his style.

Kantara 2 is a prequel to Rishab Shetty’s blockbuster Kantara which will explore the origins of various cultural practices that were showcased in the first part. Initially, the film was planned to start the shoot this month and release by 2024 summer. Now the shooting plan is said to be postponed to August / September as the team is taking time to finalize the script, cast, and crew as they have a huge market and need to deliver the best.

Earlier this year, Hombale Films founder Vijay Kirgandur, in an interaction with the media, revealed that Rishab Shetty has already started working on the script. The first portion of the film requires shooting during rain and that is why the monsoon season has been selected as the shoot time.

Rishab Shetty himself visited the forests in the coastal region in Karnataka for a two-month recce to understand more about the folklore which he has shown in his film Kantara. This movie will also be a pan-India film and the makers are confident that the audience will be equally hooked on it.

Kantara was first released in Kannada as a small film and when it became a massive success, they released it in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu. This film is an action-thriller that is rooted in Karnataka folklore and is written and directed by Rishab Shetty himself. Tollywood producer KP Chowdhary was arrested by Cyberabad police on 13 June for allegedly possessing drugs. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) caught him while he was leaving his Kismatpur residence in the Rajendranagar district of Hyderabad. According to reports, police have discovered 90 bags of cocaine weighing 82.75 grams in his possession.

The producer ‘Kabali’ has been in Goa for a while and is said to have bought drugs there. He reportedly spent 100 packets, but the cops found only 90 of them on him. According to reports, when he was arrested by the police, he was probably out delivering drugs to clients.

The accused, Sunkara Krishna Prasad Chowdhary, lives in Khammam district’s Bonakal Mandal. He graduated with a BA in Mechanical Engineering and later served as Director of Operations at the Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering and Technology in Pune, Maharashtra State.
