Over the past few weeks, the news that Thalapathy Vijay taking a break from films to enter the politics has gone viral. Accordingly, after Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Leo’, the superstar will act in ‘Thalapathy 68’ directed by Venkat Prabhu and take a three-year break to concentrate on the TN Assembly Elections in 2024. It is being reported that Thalapathy Vijay said, “No more movies after my political entry” to his fans in a meeting.

Today, Vijay had a meeting with his Vijay Makkal Iyakkam leaders from all the 234 constituencies in Tamil Nadu. During the afternoon, a meeting was held at the organization office in Panaiyur in Chennai. Following the meeting, one of the members who were part of the meeting spoke with news personnel. “Vijay said in the meeting that when the time comes for him to enter politics, he will quit films and will fully engage in politics to serve the people who place trust in him” said one of the VMI members.

The same person also stated that all the arrangements that are required for Vijay’s political entry have already been made, and whenever he gives the green signal to his fans, they will kick off the proceedings.

The news of Thalapathy Vijay quitting movies and his sudden political entry will certainly send shock waves to movie lovers. The fans of Vijay are confident that Rajinikanth and Ajith Kumar fans will support Vijay when he makes his political entry. We know that, be it on social media or offline, there have been constant fights between Vijay fans against the combined fan base of Ajith Kumar and Rajinikanth fans.

The teaser is full of entertainment. Harsha, who supposedly comes to teach the education to the tribal in a forest area, gets a big shock there. Hit director Sailesh Kolanu is directing some portion of Game Changer

It is very well known to everyone that Mega Power Star Ram Charan is currently shooting for ‘Game Changer’. South Indian Cinema’s biggest director Shankar is making the film. The new shooting schedule of this film is said to have begun. However, interestingly, ‘Hit 2’ director Shailesh Kolanu is directing a few scenes in the film. The pictures of him from the sets of this film are going viral on the internet now.

Game Changer was started with a massive hype as it was Ram Charan’s immediate film after a mammoth hit like RRR. Led by Maverick director Shankar, the film is produced by Tollywood’s top producer Dil Raju. Though it has been a long time since the shooting started, it has been delayed due to various reasons in the process. Charan did not attend the shoot for a few days due to RRR promotions and Oscar event.

He also took a break once again after the birth of his daughter to enjoy the time with the newborn baby. Director Shankar’s situation is also a bit difficult as he has to continuously shift between the shooting sets of Game Changer and Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2’, which was stopped for a long time, and resumed again. He is currently busy with the work of both the films. Which is why it is reported that Telugu director, Sailesh Kolanu is completing the shooting of the patchwork of Game Changer.

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan wants to wrap up the shooting of ‘Indian 2’ soon. Director SS Rajamouli took a break from the success of his global blockbuster and Oscar award-winning film, RRR and spent some quality time with his dear family members. In June, the director of RRR had already travelled to the center of Tamil Nadu, and on July 11, he went on Twitter to share a montage, which gives us an insight into his tour in Madurai, Tanjore, Tuticorin, among others. Rajamouli said the visit to his homeland was very refreshing and edifying.

Rajamouli shared a video on Twitter on July 11 about the places he visited in Central Tamil Nadu in June, which he recorded. His wife, Rama, son, SS Karthikeya, daughter, SS Mayookha, and daughter-in-law Pooja Prasad were with him on the trip. They visited some famous temples, from Brihadeeswarar to Srirangam.

He wrote, “Wanted to do a road trip in central Tamil Nadu for a long time. Thanks to my daughter, who wanted to visit temples, we embarked upon it. Had been to Srirangam, Darasuram, Brihadeeswarar koil, Rameshwaram, Kanadukathan, Thoothukudi and Madurai in the last week of June. Could only touch the tip of the iceberg in the given few days. The exquisite architecture, amazing engineering and deep spiritual thought of pandyas, chozhas Nayakkars and many other rulers was truly mesmerising (in the original).”

He further added, “Whether the fine dining in Mantrakoodam, Kumbakonam or a kaka hotel murugan mess in rameshwaram the food has been marvelous everywhere… I must have put on 2–3 kilos in a week. After 3 months of foreign travel and food, this homeland tour has been refreshing and uplifting (in the original).”

The High Court dismissed the case against Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth

The Madras High Court on Monday, July 10, 2023, dismissed a private complaint/case lodged against actor Dhanush, Aishwarya Rajinikanth and a few others under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply, and Distribution) Act of 2003.

The Court determined that the complaint was not an offense under Article 5 of COTPA, 2003, That forbids the promotion, use, and consumption of cigarettes or any other tobacco product. Also, the movie-makers carried disclaimers as instructed by the censor board during the smoking scenes as stated by Actor Dhanush, through his counsel, during the smoking scenes.

Justice N. Anand Venkatesh cancelled petitions and held that smoking scenes found on the posters of the 2014 movie Velai Illa Pattadhari (VIP) would not attract the offense under Section 5 of COTPA, which prohibits only producers, suppliers, and distributors of tobacco products from advertising them.

Stating filmmakers could not be prosecuted under the legal provision, the judge said: “A penal statute has to be strictly construed since the consequence of an action taken under the statute will touch upon the life or personal liberty guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution.”

The judge added: “Courts cannot be swayed by emotions. If the facts do not constitute an offense, the court cannot try to expand the scope of the provision by considering the adverse impact that a tobacco or tobacco product can have on society and particularly the younger generation.”

He also questioned the eight-year delay in filing the case. However, the judge did not go into the issue of negligence, since he overruled the complaint on its merits. The complaint against Ms. Aishwarya had been lodged in her capacity as a director of Wunderbar Films, which produced the movie.

The other individuals against whom the complaint was reversed included film producer AVM Kumaran, exhibitor ‘Abirami’ Sv.Rm. Ramanathan, Wooldlands theatre managing partner N. Venkatesh, and Padmam theater proprietor C.T. Ramanathan.

Kamal Haasan Picks His Own Story For His Upcoming Film

A few days ago, it was announced that Kamal Haasan and director H Vinoth will be collaborating for a movie, tentatively titled, #KH233. There have already been many speculations regarding what the story will be, whether it will be a political drama, etc.

Judging from the tagline of the film, that is, ‘Rise to Rule’, it is somewhat indicative that it will mostly be a story of the rise of Kamal’s character or Kamal motivating the people to rise against injustice.

Well in a recent interview about KH233, this is what director H Vinoth had to say. “My next film with Kamal Haasan Sir is not a farmer-based story. We have both discussed 2-3 stories. Among those stories, the story which Kamal Haasan Sir told me was very exciting.”

He further added that ” I have decided to write the screenplay for the story that Kamal Sir told me.” This is very exciting news even for fans because Kamal Haasan is perhaps the most prolific story writer this country has ever produced. The man is a creative genius who is able to reinvent himself at every stage of his career.

The last time Kamal Haasan told a story to a new-age director, the result was VIKRAM. Let us hope that the result is the same, if not more this time around.
