Three medium budget films are postponed their release from August

In the Telugu film industry, it is very common for the small or medium budget films to get postponed avoiding competition with multiple films or big films. The same is true happening with three upcoming medium budget films. Naveen Polishety and Anushka Shetty’s romantic comedy Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, Vaishnav Tej’s Aadikeshava and Srikanth Addala’s intense political drama are those three films which have postponed their release from August.

We know that the upcoming weekend will see two releases of. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar and Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer. Also Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 are releasing on the same weekend. So the film units of all the three films of Naveen Polishety, Vaishnav Tej and Srikanth Addala thought it was better to avoid such a rushed release.

Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty is written and directed by Mahesh Babu P. As said above, Anushka Shetty will appear in the role of a chef in the film. Murali Sharma, Jayasudha, Tulasi, and others play important roles. The film is slated to be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. It was scheduled to be released on August 4th, but the makers formally declared the film was postponed, and the new date will be announced soon.

Vaishnav Tej’s Aadikeshava is directed by Srikanth N Reddy and produced by Trivikram’s Fortune Four Cinemas and Naga Vamsi’s Sithara Entertainments banners. GV Prakash Kumar is the music composer. The film was supposed to be released on August 18th, and now it got postponed to November 10th.

Srikanth Addala, the director who is usually known for making feel-good films, has directed a raw action entertainer. Titled Peddha Kapu 1, the film was set to be released on August 18th, and now it is said to be postponed, and the official announcement will be out soon. The film features debutant Virat Karrna in the lead role with Rao Ramesh, Aadukalam Naren, Naga Babu, Tanikella Bharani in important roles.

Mega Star Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar is just a week away and the Mega fans, after the debacle of Bro, have piled up big expectations from this project. While the buzz and excitement about the movie aren’t exactly on the level one would expect from a Chiranjeevi movie, makers are expecting it to shoot up in the coming days.

The bookings as of now aren’t giving any positive feelers to the makers. The initial trend of bookings was good but after that film is not witnessing any jump in bookings which is a worrying sign. With only one week left to Bhola Shankar’s release, the USA advance bookings have not crossed $100K mark and are reeling at the $85K mark. Compared to this, Rajinikanth’s Jailer has already crossed the $350k mark, and the recently released showcase will created massive hype for the movie.

Even in Australia, the bookings are quite poor. The UK bookings are comparatively better but the movie now needs a solid boost if it has to post good numbers at the opening. Finally, it looks like the good days are back at the Bollywood box office. Karan Johar’s directorial, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt is getting good numbers after a relatively decent start and Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 which are scheduled to be released on the next and the advance bookings for both the films have started on a strong note.

Both the movies are sequels to blockbuster films and carrying a good buzz in the audiences and trade circles. This is very happy news for the Bollywood as the buyers have been facing tough times with all the movies which had released were not doing well at the box office. Which is why both the films’ advance bookings off to a strong note and expected to open with bigger numbers on day 1.

Gadar 2’s advance bookings were opened on Sunday at a few centers and yesterday at national multiplexes, and the response has been remarkable in both locations. The movie sold 1700 tickets in PVR, 1200 tickets in INOX and 5200 tickets in Cinepolis until August 3 noon. Director Anil Sharma’s son, Utkarsh Sharma, has played the role of Sunny Deol’s son.

The Advance bookings for OMG 2 also opened before Gadar 2 at national chains, but it took less than 30 minutes for Gadar 2 to beat OMG 2 which had a lead of 6–7 hours. The response to OMG 2 was definitely good, but it just lagged when compared to the Sunny Deol starrer. OMG 2 sold 1100 tickets in PVR, 550 tickets in INOX, and 350 tickets in Cinepolis until August 3rd noon.

OMG 2, directed by Amit Rai, has Akshay Kumar in the avatar of Lord Shiva. Yami Gautam, Pankaj Tripathi, and Arun Govil who is famous for playing Lord Ram in the old Ramayan serial, will also appear in ‘OMG 2’. It will be released in theaters on August 11. 

The satirical comedy-drama is a sequel to the 2012 hit film ‘OMG – Oh My God!’ The film is produced by Cape of Good Films, Ashwin Varde, Vipul D Shah and Rajesh Bahl. Dr Chandra Prakash Diwedi is the creative producer of the movie. The cinematography of the movie is done by Amalendu Chaudhary.

Pawan Kalyan’s OG producers officially confirm the Title

The makers of Pawan Kalyan and Sujeeth’s film have been promoting OG as the working title for the film for the past few days. Now the producers have officially confirmed that OG (Original Gangster) has been chosen as the movie’s official title. A fan of Power Star had tagged the official handle of the makers and asked them to not change the title, to which they replied there will be no change and the film will be titled as “OG” only.

The film will have a pan-Indian release such as Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada languages. From the beginning stage itself, fans of Pawan Kalyan and other audience also felt that the OG title would be perfect for the film.

The film is produced by the legendary production company DVV Entertainments. Pawan Kalyan and young director Sujeeth are collaborating on this movie for the first time. An interesting poster was used to announce the film, and the producers confirmed that Sujeeth will write and direct it.
