DJ Tillu fame Siddhu’s next film with Bommarillu Bhaskar launched officially

The launch took place in Hyderabad, where the film’s team and other prominent figures from the industry were present. Ace producer Allu Aravind clapped the board for Siddhu while Dil Raju switched on the camera.

The event was honored by participants, including Nandini Reddy, Neeraja Kona, and others from the industry. Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra will be producing the film on an extravagant scale. In the coming days, the unit will reveal the other details about the leading lady, the rest of the cast, crew, and the shooting of the film is set to start shortly.

Bommarillu Bhaskar, who became a star director after the success of Bommarillu, added the film’s name to his name. After that film, he did a film with Allu Arjun named Parugu, and it was also a super-duper hit. Soon after, he did a film with Mega Power Star Ram Charan, Orange. But the film turned out to be a disaster at the box office.

Since then, he has been struggling in the industry to give a comeback and score a big hit. Bhola Shankar the upcoming mass entertainer starring Megastar Chiranjeevi as the lead, is going through a tough phase before its release. It is very well known to everyone that the film has not been able to get the required craze of a star hero film. Also, the film unit faced a shocker from the Andhra Pradesh government as they were denied an RS 25 hike in the ticket price.

However, during this process, a shocking thing about the film’s budget has been revealed that the film is actually a huge budget film. Now this is surprising news for sure, because if we look at the making quality and genre of the film, it looks like a regular commercial entertainer, but the makers have told that they have made this film with a budget of 101 Crores excluding the remuneration of Megastar Chiranjeevi.

This news has appear to be a shocker because Bhola Shankar’s making budget was expected to be very normal as it does not need any lavish sets or any grandeur/ VFX. But the makers had submitted to the AP government for ticket hike and mentioned that the making cost of the film was 101 Crores without Chiranjeevi’s remuneration.

They said it is a huge budget film and requested for ticket hike and the government denied the hike by saying a few documents related to the making were missing. So now according to the makers, Bhola Shankar’s budget is 101 crores apart from Chiranjeevi’s remuneration and if we take his remuneration, which will definitely more than 50 Crores, so totally it amounts to a150 Crores budget film.

Finally, the much-awaited day has arrived. Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer has hit the screens worldwide and the fan’s euphoria is at an all-time high. Directed by Nelson Dileepkumar who has earlier directed projects like Vijay’s Beast and Sivakarthikeyan’s Doctor, this Rajini starter has received significant interest from the audience thanks to its exciting trailer and a loaded star cast consisting of Mohanlal, Ramya Krishna, and Shiva Rajkumar.

Rajinikanth’s Jailer opened with phenomenal numbers in all territories in Tamil Nadu and overseas. Even in Telugu states, the shows were housefulls in a majority of centres which is a sign of a bumper opening. The film has received good early reports from the audience who have overall given a thumbs up to the film. The Interval, post-interval, and pre-climax worked extremely well for the film.

The only major minus for the film is the dragging 2nd half where the screenplay falters for around 15 minutes. Rest everything worked very well for the film. Coming to performances, Rajinikanth mesmerized everyone with his extraordinary screen presence and action episodes. Nelson has achieved a solid comeback after Beast while Anirudh’s BGM is excellent. Overall, the film opened with positive WOM and will surely register extraordinary openings.

Story: Muthuvel Pandian (Rajinikanth) is a retired Jailer who lives with his wife (Ramya Krishnan), son (Vasanth Ravi) who is also a police officer, daughter-in-law (Mirnaa) and grandson happily. Pandian’s son tries to go investigate a crime gang, goes missing and is assumed dead. Enraged by this, Pandian vows to take revenge. Was he successful in his mission? What kind of troubles he faced in this process? Answers to these questions form the rest of the story.

Analysis: The first half of the film starts on a decent note with showing Rajini in a calm role. The background setting of the crime world, the relation between father and son was also shown in a good way. Though the pace appears to be too slow, the impact gets better after a serious turn. After the Rajinikanth’s role takes the charge, things get interesting and the interval episode also came well.

The post-Interval flashback sequence, had an excellent impact but after that, the film loses grip with some uninteresting comedy scenes which give a feel of boredom and deviate from the main plot. The proceedings keep getting dragged out without any impact and the Sunil – Tamannaah’s episode was turned out to be a big disappointment. But the climax episode came good, and it makes the overall effect a bit better.

Performances: Rajinikanth was too good in his role and carried out the entire film on his shoulders. Vinayakan was good and portrayed the evilness in his character very well. Shiva Raj Kumar made a terrific impact in a cameo, while Mohanlal was also good. Vasanth Ravi, Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa and others were fine.

Verdict:

Rajinikanth’s superb performance, Anirudh Ravichander’s Background Score and a few terrific sequences along with the Climax work well for the film. However the misfired comedy and dragged second half work against it. Overall the film can be a decent outing if you watch without much expectations.
