Dulquer Salmaan is the true definition of pan-Indian star, says Nani

The release of Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming Pan Indian film, King Of Kotha, which is being backed by Wayfarer Films and ZEE Studios, is scheduled for Onam 2023, on August 24th. Aishwarya Lekshmi is the female lead in this gangster drama, which marks Abhilash Joshiy’s directorial debut. The film’s Telugu pre-release event was held in Hyderabad yesterday. Natural Star Nani, and Daggubati Rana graced the event.

At the event, Nani stated that he dubbed for Dulquer Salman’s role in Mani Ratnam’s Ok Bangaram. Nani expressed his happiness to grace the function at a time when Dulquer is reaching new heights in the Telugu industry. Nani said, “I don’t like the term PAN India. But Dulquer Salmaan is the only hero who can be called a PAN India actor.”

Nani stated that directors from all languages are eager to work with Dulquer and write scripts for him, which is what defines a PAN Indian actor. Nani expressed his belief that King Of Kotha’s promotional content is highly promising and conveyed his best wishes to the entire team. Nani stated that Jakes Bejoy is an exceptional composer and added that Aishwarya Lekshmi is a wonderful actress. Nani further stated that Dulquer Salmaan should advance to the next level with the King Of Kotha.

Dulquer Salmaan’s last Telugu film, Sita Ramam was a big blockbuster at the box office. The film also received lots of applause for its beautiful content. The Telugu audiences are now looking forward to the release of King Of Kotha.

Atrocity case booked on Kannada superstar Upendra

Kannada actor Upendra has been booked by the Channammanakere Acchukattu police under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, for the alleged racist remark he made during a live chat on a social media platform.

Upendra, during a live chat discussed individuals who spread negativity and criticize on the internet said : “Ooru enda mele holageri idde irutte” (there will be a Dalit hamlet in every village).

Dalit activists Gopal Giriyappa and Banashankari Vasu filed a complaint with the Social Welfare Department seeking action against Upendra, following which Madhusudhan K.N., Assistant Director of Social Welfare Department, filed a complaint with the Channammanakere Acchukattu police, who registered a FIR against Upendra under the SC-ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

Upendra made an apology for his remark and removed the video where he had made those remarks shortly afterward.

“While speaking live on social media, I mistakenly used a Kannada proverb that has hurt the sentiments of many. So, I have deleted the video immediately, and I apologise for the same,” he posted on social media.

Jailer and Bhola Shankar 1st weekend worldwide box office collections

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar and Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer have been released in competition at the box office this week. While on one side, Jailer got a positive response, and it is just getting only bigger day by day, Bhola Shankar got a disastrous response, and it has kept going downwards to the unexpected low levels.

In the Telugu states, it was a massive
Sunday for the film, Jailer, as it collected a superb number of around 20 Crores in its 1st weekend. The film is expected to continue the good run at the box office for the next couple of days, with the holiday advantage of Independence Day.

Overall, Jailer film has amassed a worldwide gross of around 300 Cr gross with overseas getting more than 125Cr, while Tamil Nadu stands at 85Cr+. Kerala’s number is close to 23Cr and the Telugu states close Gross will be around 30Cr. In Karnataka, Jailer has collected close to 30 Cr and in the rest of India the number will be close to 10Cr.

While Bhola Shankar had a disastrous 1st weekend at the box office with registering unexpected low numbers. For the 1st weekend, the worldwide share of the film will be around 24Cr [including all] and the worth share stands around 18Cr.
