High Court grants stay for Upendra in Atrocity Case

On Monday, the High Court of Karnataka granted stay against the first information report (FIR) filed against Kannada actor Upendra. He was charged under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 for an alleged racist remark he made during a live chat on a social media platform.

Justice Hemant Chandangoudar passed the interim order on a petition filed by Mr. Upendra questioning the legality of the registration of the criminal case lacking ingredients to attract the provisions of the Act.

In his live talk on August 12, the petitioner had used a Kannada proverb that some had opposed as a casteist remark while talking about the evils that all society and the transformation that was required to be brought into society.

“It is a proverb, which is generally used to state that criticism is bound to be generally there and one need not be unduly perturbed. It has nothing to do with insult to Dalit or people belonging to SC/ST. Very significantly, there is a place called Holageri in Shivamogga district and there are many people with the surname Holageri,” it was said in the petition, while claiming that the use of the proverb could not be construed as an insult to a community.

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja and star director Gopichand Malineni have announced recently that they are collaborating once again after three super-duper hit films like Don Seenu, Balupu and Krack. As per the reports, the film is based on true events, much like the previous outing in this combo.

Even if we take the last film in the actor director combination, Krack the director has taken a real life character as a reference, and it was portrayed by Samuthirakhani. Now this new project is also said to be based on true events and reportedly the film is said to be revolving around the caste fights around 1990s between upper caste and lower caste people.

The well-known Mythri Movie Makers banner is financing this exciting project, which was officially announced today. The poster shows that the movie will place in a village called Chundur, and it seems to be about a disaster that occurred in the village. To know the further details of this film, it will take another few days. S Thaman has been roped in to score the music for this mass entertainer.

Gopichand Malineni is reported to have written a story that is both peculiar and powerful, based on real-life incidents. After Ravi Teja’s Eagle project is completed, this project will start it shooting. This film is regarded as the biggest budget film in Ravi Teja’s career.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar is now gearing up for its Hindi release. Yes! That’s right! The action entertainer starring Tamannah, Keerthy Suresh, and Sushant is now gearing up to woo the north Indian audience with the film slated to hit the screens on 25th August.

It appears that the deal for a Hindi was closed way before the Telugu release, hence the Hindi version is now scheduled to hit the screens. The Telugu version has turned out to be a major disaster with all centres failing to attract any audience and running in deficits. The Hindi teaser announcing the 25th August date was released a while ago much to the surprise of all.

Bhola Shankar has been a disappointing fare at the box-office with several fans openly expressing their dismay at yet another remake from the Megastar. The film was clouded with doubts over its box-office right from the day it was announced but there was some hope that Megastar’s box-office pull might help in recovering the business. However, Meher Ramesh’s routine direction, predictable and outdated story, and lack of an exciting screenplay ensured that the film had very few takers.

The dismal performance of Bhola Shankar should be an eye-opener for the Megastar, who should now seek to work in direct films which have substantial story and scope for performance. Remakes occasionally might benefit the stars, but the stardom can only be sustained with originality.

Competition is not a new thing in the Telugu Film Industry as for every festival there will be multiple releases, be it big movies are small movies. This year’s December month is going to witness heavy competition as many movies are targeting the date. As of now, 8 films from Indian Cinema have announced release dates in this year’s December.

Heroes like Nani, Venkatesh, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Tej, Dhanush, Vishwak Sen, Sudheer Babu, and Nithin are releasing their films in this December.

Animal, the film in the combination of Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga will be released on 1st December. Mega Prince Varun Tej’s action thriller titled Operation Valentine, which is being made on a massive scale, will be released on 8th December.

Mass Ka Das Vishwak Sen’s rural action drama, Gangs of Godavari is also getting released on 8th December. Kollywood star and national award-winning actor Dhanush’s much hyped actioner Captain Miller will be released on 15th December.

Thereafter, Natural Star Nani’s emotional Drama Hi Nanna will come before the audiences on 21st December. Venkatesh’s Saindhav which is being directed by HIT Series fame Sailesh Kolanu will be released on 22nd December. Sudheer Babu’s Harom Hara will be out on 22nd December, while Nithin and Vakkantham Vamsi’s Extra Ordinary Man will be the final release on 23rd December.

Overall, a total 8 number of films are releasing in just 3 weeks gap in 2023 December. The most interesting thing is all the films are very different from each other, which means that the movie lovers will have a variety of entertainment to watch in the theaters.

So despite his good intention Nani became bad in the eyes of the other heroes fans.

At the pre release event of King Of Kotha, Nani remebered that he dubbed for Dulquer Salman’s role in Mani Ratnam’s Ok Bangaram. Nani expressed his happiness to grace the function at a time when Dulquer is reaching new heights in the Telugu industry. Nani said, “I don’t like the term PAN India. But Dulquer Salmaan is the only hero who can be called a PAN India actor.”

Nani also added that directors from all languages like Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam languages want to work with Dulquer and write scripts for him, which is what defines a PAN Indian actor. Nani expressed his belief that King Of Kotha’s promotional content is highly promising and conveyed his best wishes to the entire team. Nani stated that Jakes Bejoy is an exceptional composer and added that Aishwarya Lekshmi is a wonderful actress. Taking a look at the recent news and rumors being spread on Megastar Chiranjeevi, one cannot help but feel that he definitely needs a strong PR team.

We know about the recent fake news regarding Chiranjeevi which was widespread. A rumor had done rounds for a few days that he demanded his latest film, Bhola Shankar’s Producer to give his remuneration by hook or crook. However, the Producer himself clarified no such demand had come from Chiranjeevi and put an end to the rumors.

The makers of the movie, Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty have finally locked the date, September 7th as their new release date. Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty (MSMP) stars Naveen Polishetty and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles and the film is written and directed by Mahesh Babu P and produced by UV Creations. The movie was set to be released on August 4th, but it was postponed because of ongoing computer graphics work and delay in the Post production works.

Today, the makers officially announced the new release date of September 7th. In the release date announcement video, we can see the comedy timing of the film’s lead, Naveen Polishety as he discusses the film’s release and his marriage with Jabardasth Mahesh, who is seen as an astrologer.

Mahesh tells to Naveen that there are many films being released in August and December, and he funnily tells him that he should postpone the release of the film until 2200. Then finally, it is revealed at the end of the video that Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty will be released on September 7th on the occasion of Janmashtami.
