Is Nani unhappy with National media awards selection?

The failure of Suriya’s Jai Bhim to win any of the awards at the 69th National Film Awards has seems to have left actor Nani heartbroken and disappointed. The actor took to his Instagram and wrote, ‘”Jai Bhim with a red heartbroken” emoji. The National Awards did not recognize the widely appreciated courtroom drama in any of the nominated categories.

Not just Nani but several Tamil fans were also disappointed and surprised that Jai Bhim did not get any National Award despite being a strong contender. So when Nani displayed his disappointment indirectly, many came supporting him. However, a few Telugu film fanatics were not happy with Nani’s reaction, and they stated he should have been happy for Telugu films getting more awards at the national level.

TJ Gnanavel’s directorial was nominated in the best film category, but Manikandan’s Kadaisi Vivasayi won the award finally. Although Suriya was nominated for the Best Actor category, he failed to win the award. For the year 2020, he bagged the Best Actor Award for his performance in Soorarai Pottru. This year, Allu Arjun bagged Best Actor for his performance in Pushpa: The Rise, and he created a history by becoming the first Telugu actor to do so.

It has been reported that one of the reasons why Jai Bhim was unable to win the National Awards is because of last year’s appreciation for Soorarai Pottru. The film won five categories at the 68th National Awards including Best Film, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Music Director.

The 69th National Film Awards were announced on Thursday evening. Despite strong films like Jai Bhim, Karnan, and Sarpatta Parambarai being nominated, Tamil cinema was unable to sweep the awards this year. Manikandan’s 2021 directorial Kadaisi Vivasayi won the Best Tamil Film award, while the actor late Nallandi was awarded the Special Mention for his performance in the film. Renowned singer Shreya Ghoshal won the best female singer award for Actor-director Parthiban’s Iravin Nizhal at the National Film Awards.

The Telugu film audiences are set to witness a massive pan India biggies clash in 2024. With all the big stars like NTR, Allu Arjun, Prabhas and Tamil Hero Suriya are getting ready to compete in the upcoming year’s Summer. Many expectations regarding all the films’ content and box office performance are anticipated.

The next NTR film, titled Devara was announced a long time ago to come out on April 5, 2024. The fans of NTR were happy with the release date because it’s a blockbuster date with continuous holidays for 2 weeks. They felt that their favorite hero’s film will have a solo biggie release, but the release weekend being such a big one, it was inevitable for other star heroes films to come on the same date.

Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s most hyped project OG, and Ram Charan – Shankar’s Game changer are also planning for summer release. So all the big budget pan India films will be released within a span of 2 months.

Both the films, Akhil Akkineni’s Agent and Shaakuntalam were made on massive budgets which were more than the leading star’s market value and both films failed to find the distributors for the business and were released with deficits. After the release, they were unable to impress the audiences and became terrible disasters at the box office.

They had received a disastrous talk and ended up with a negligible share and now the same happened with Gandeevadhari Arjuna. Now it opens with a disastrous talk and reviews, so looking at the trend it looks like the film will end up with negligible closing shares at the box office.

The buzz surrounding Bhagavanth Kesari has reached a new level with the tremendous response received by the teaser. We know that the movie was announced for 19th October release during the Dasara season. However, the latest reports from the inside circles suggest that the film’s release may get preponed as the distributors are requesting for the same.

Because on the same day when Bhagavanth Kesari’s release is scheduled, Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo is getting released and on the next day Raviteja’s Tiger Nageswara Rao is releasing. So the distributors are requesting the producers to prepone the release to 18th October so that the movie will have a solo release on maximum screens. So we need to see the final decision of producers on this request from the distributors.

Directed by Anil Ravipudi, this mass entertainer will have all the commercial aspects to satisfy the fans along with his trademark humor elements. Salaar Team locks the trailer release date

Prabhas’s upcoming pan-Indian action film Salaar, directed by Prashanth Neel is just about a month away from its theatrical release. The USA advance bookings for the film have started off to a sensational start and indicate a massive opening is possible. Now, the inside reports strongly suggest that the team of Salaar has fixed the trailer’s release date.

After the teaser got released, the team did not do much, nor they issued any promotional content and Prashanth Neel directly wants to release the trailer as he feels only trailer is enough to create the required massive buzz on the film across the world. It seems the troubles for Shankar’s Indian 2 have not completely ended. The film has seen several delays so far with even the High Court of Tamil Nadu getting involved in a dispute earlier between the Lyca Productions and Shankar. Earlier, Shankar was accused by Lyca Productions that he had already used up Rs 180 crore of the allotted Rs 236 crores budget. The makers have demanded a restraining order on Shankar from working on any other project till Indian 2 is completed.

It all seemed to be a thing of the past and the makers even resumed the shoot looking to complete the ambitious project at the earliest.

But now, the film has found itself in another unwanted situation. Lyca Productions is not at all happy with Shankar’s making style. For 2.0 Lyca ended up with certain losses venture due to a high budget and lack of planning. The same seems to be an issue for Indian 2 Shankar’s schedules and constant delays in the film’s making and with him sharing his time between Indian 2 and Game Changer are creating huge problems for Lyca.

After the blockbuster success of Vikram, Udaynidi Stalin got involved and settled up things. But there is no change in Shankar’s working style and he made the budget go beyond the planned figure. In addition to this, the footage is more than 5 hours and most of the footage will be trimmed which means it was a waste and huge resource and budget loss. This has caused serious discontent amongst the makers of Indian 2.

Story: Shiva (Kartikeya) works as a VFX artist in a graphics company, but he quits the job because of a small issue and comes back to his village, Bedurulanka where he sees the fear of doomsday in the people of his village. Bhushanam (Ajay Ghosh), Brahmam (Srikanth Iyengar) and Daniel (Ram Prasad) try to cash the fear of people about the world ending and make money out of it. The rest of the story is all about how Shiva thrashes the plans of the baddies and marries his love interest (Neha Shetty) as well.

Analysis:

The first half starts on an ordinary note. After that, the love track comes across like a mixed bag with a few scenes working and a few not working. The interval episode could have been better. The second half is where the real fun starts in the film. Shiva’s plan to teach the entire village a lesson and give back to the Bhushanam and gang worked well. Especially the pre climax episode where Kasi Raju’s character has a change over works big time. The climax episode gets the message right, but gets deviated with an unnecessary song. Director Clax has come up with a nice output in his debut and he handled comedy parts well. He could have done a better job with the overall narration.

Performances: Kartikeya was impressive in his role. He got a fun-filled role this time, unlike the usual emotional roles. Neha Shetty was fine. Ajay Ghosh, Srikanth Aiyengar, Goparaju Ramana, Ram Prasad, Rajkumar Kasi Reddy, Sathya, and Vennela Kishore were appropriate.

Verdict:

Overall, Bedurulanka 2012 is an average entertainer with a unique concept. Though a few boring and predictable parts work against the film, some good fun episodes in the second half work well for the film.
