Indian 2: Court denies Lyca’s appeal against Shankar

Ace director Shankar has been the centre of one controversy after another. First, it was Lyca Productions, the producers of his Indian 2. Apart from Lyca, he’s facing legal consequences from the producer of his blockbuster film Anniyan (Aparichitudu).

Amidst such legal pressure, the director had a sigh of relief. The Madras High court rejected Lyca Productions’ appealed for a stay to prevent director Shankar from working on other projects before completing Indian 2. Indian 2 has been facing continuous delays and according to Lyca, Shankar has already taken huge advance.

The court also adjourned the case to a later date and posted the matter for further hearing after the summer vacation. The report also added that the court has asked director Shankar to file his statement.

Shankar has been accused by Lyca Prodcutions that he has already used up Rs 180 crore of the allotted Rs 236 crores budget. The makers have demanded a restraining order on Shankar from working on any other project till Indian 2 is completed.

Meanwhile, Shankar has signed up Mega Power Star Ram Charan in his next multi lingual film. Dil Raju will be backing this project who said that the film will go on floors from July.
