Gadar 2 surpasses Pathaan, becomes the no. 1 Bollywood film in India

0

Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 has created history and emerged as the highest-grosser of all time in Bollywood. The film is on the 47th day of its run and has surpassed the lifetime collections of Shahrukh Khan’s Pathaan.

The Shah Rukh Khan starrer which was released earlier this year earned Rs 524.50+ crore nett in its full run at the domestic Box Office. Gadar 2 started the day on Rs 524 crore and has now surpassed the collections of Pathaan in a surprising fashion and stands at Rs 525.75 crores share. Not many people expected this kind of performance from the Anil Sharma film when a sequel to his 2002 blockbuster was announced.

Although this is a remarkable accomplishment, Gadar 2’s title as the biggest blockbuster of all time won’t last for long. With Jawan, which has earned Rs 514 crores from the Hindi version so far, Shah Rukh Khan will retake his crown.

The Hindi versions of all three films contributed 90% to these monstrous collections. The three films together have given the industry a massive boost this year that no other movie in the post-pandemic world could. If everything goes according to plan, Bollywood will soon see another 1000-crore movie in the form of Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 set to release later this year.
