0

The OTT deal clears all the hurdles for Dhruva Natchathiram. It is widely known that Chiyaan Vikram’s long-delayed project has witnessed many financial issues, resulting in the film being on hold for theatrical release despite the shoot being completed.

With the rise of the theatrical business, especially the OTT business, Gautham Menon took responsibility and did the final work. Finally, the financial issues for the film have been reportedly cleared, and according to the Kollywood buzz, Dhruva Natchathiram’s digital rights have been sold for 40Cr+ by Netflix.

The film is hitting the screens on 24th November, and it has locked an early OTT release for a massive price. The movie has a high chance of performing well at the box office as there is no competition for the film and no notable releases in Tamil until Prabhas’s Salaar.

Vikram’s Dhruva Nathchathiram, which Gautham Menon directs, is one of Kollywood’s most anticipated yet delayed projects. The film has been delayed many times in the past decade, causing many film lovers to believe it was shelved. Many were surprised by the news that the film will be revived with new makers and released in November. Now, the OTT deal cleared all the hurdles for Dhruva Natchathiram.

Nani and Nithin set for a clash

0

Nani and Nithin are set for a clash. Natural Star Nani’s Hi Nanna and Crazy Hero Nithin’s Extra Ordinary Man are set for a box office clash in December. Both films are different as one is an emotional love film while the other is a commercial entertainer.

It is widely known that four medium-budget films were announced to clash at the box office on December 2nd weekend a few days ago. Nani’s Hi Nanna was reported for 7 December, while Nithin’s Extra Ordinary Man was scheduled for a December 8 release.

Along with them, Mega Prince, Varun Tej’s Operation Valentine, and Mass Ka Das Vishwak Sen’s Gangs of Godavari were also announced to be released on the same weekend. However, Vishwak Sen initially got out of the clash, followed by Varun Tej, reportedly said to be out.

Only Nani and Nithin’s films are being released on the December 2nd weekend. The clash affected all film businesses, so the movies had no option but to opt out of the competition.

Due to a clash with other films, Varun Tej’s film, Operation Valentine, did not receive any offers from distributors, and it is a good decision for them to postpone as the movie does not have any good buzz at the moment. The makers need to create a nice buzz around the film and have to set a solo release date for it.

So now only Nithin and Nani’s films are clashing, and we need to see which movie will win.

Bigg Boss Telugu 7 is likely to be extended by one more week

0

Bigg Boss Telugu 7 is likely to be extended by one more week. The 7th Season of Bigg Boss Telugu has become a big hit. The reality game show has impressed the public with its Ulta Pulta theme, and recently, the Diwali Episode of Bigg Boss Telugu 7 was a superhit with stunning dance performances and family moments.

At first, Bigg Boss Telugu 7 was planned to last 15 weeks. Ten weeks have been completed in this season, and there are still 10 Contestants in the Bigg Boss house. It is widely known that only the top 5 contestants can enter in the last week.

So, five contestants need to be eliminated in the next four weeks. Now, the buzz is that the management of Bigg Boss plans to extend this season for one more week, which has a lot of advantages.

As said above, this season of Bigg Boss Telugu is a huge success compared to the last season. Now, the voting percentage differences for the contestants are getting closer, so even the viewers cannot decide who is a clear winner even after ten episodes.

If the season gets one more week, it will benefit the management as the season is getting a good response. If they do not want to extend the season, they have only one choice. That is putting up a double elimination in a weekend, but most likely, the team is expected to extend the season for another week.

Bhagavanth Kesari running strong in theaters on its 4th week

0

Bhagavanth Kesari is still running strong in theaters in its 4th week. It is widely known that Nandamuri Balakrishna had teamed up with Director Anil Ravipudi for his latest action entertainer, Bhagavanth Kesari, which was released on October 19th and became the Dasara winner at the box office with the help of positive talk and family audiences support.

As said above, even in its 4th week, Bhagavanth Kesari is running strong in theaters. Nowadays, most films are closing the run in 1 or 2 weeks even if word of mouth is positive. Only a few films are running with shares in 3rd, and 4th week.

Bhagavanth Kesari is performing exceptionally well for exhibitors. The movie witnessed a good jump on Diwali weekend and will perform well today also. For theatre owners, films having a long run is also essential, and after achieving the breakeven mark, Bhagavanth Kesari is doing what is needed for them.

A film running without deficits for four weeks is a significant achievement. This week’s dubbed releases are not performing well in Telugu states, which also helped Bhagavath Kesari post good numbers. The movie has collected a 70Cr share and emerged as a clean hit at the box office.

The movie featured Kajal Aggarwal opposite Balakrishna, with National Award winner Arjun Rampal making his debut in Telugu as the antagonist. In addition to Balakrishna and Sree Leela in the lead roles, Ravi Shankar, Sarathkumar, Raghu Babu, and others played other key roles in the film. Shine Screens produced it, and Thaman S scored music for the movie.

‘The twists and reveals in Mangalavaaram will definitely stun you.’: Ajay Bhupathi

0

Mangalavaaram, starring Payal Rajput, Ajmal Ameer, Nanditha Swetha, Ravindra Vijay, and Ajay Ghosh among others is all set to hit the screens this week on November 17th. Ahead of the release of his upcoming film, director Ajay Bhupathi spoke to Track Tollywood about the project and how it’s going to redefine the genre.

What is Mangalavaaram?
Mangalavaaram is a rustic village-based mysterious thriller.

After Mahasamudram, you’re coming up with Mangalavaaram. So how was your thought process behind this film after the result of Mahasamudram
Regardless of the result of the previous film, I was fixated on this project and wanted to take it to the audience. When we work on a particular project, the success or failure of the previous film doesn’t matter and only the current project is on my mind.

What was the main reason behind casting Payal Rajput?
I had a clear idea about Payal Rajput’s performance as an actress. We all are aware of her capabilities. Knowing all this I felt she would suit the character in Mangalavaaram so I made the decision of casting her.

This is an ‘A’ certificate movie and the success of any movie depends on the common audience’s approval. What’s your strategy for attracting them?
Virupaksha was also ‘A’ certified film. Despite that, it did very well at the box office. We also need to understand that ‘A’ certificate for Mangalavaaram was given on the basis of the number of horror elements, and how the music added to the horror experience. If we go back, even Pokiri was given an ‘A’ certificate because of its violence. We need to come out of the feeling that ‘A’ certificate means adult content. Also, Mangalavaaram didn’t receive any visual cut or sound cut so that means it can be watched without and inhibitions.

Speaking of Virupaksha, it was released recently and became a blockbuster What is the key difference between Mangalavaaram and Virupaksha?
Both are entirely different films. In fact, the genre itself is quite different. Our film is a mysterious thriller rooted in nativity with some horror elements.

Mangalavaaram is usually associated with negativity in our culture. Is there any link to that in the movie?
It’s true that there are some negative connotations for Tuesdays which is unfortunate. But yes, I wanted to capture this negativity associated with the particular day and it also suited my narration and storytelling where particular incidents happen on Tuesdays. Hence, we went ahead with Mangalavaaram.

What kind of support did you receive from the producers on the project?
I am one of the producers on this project and coming to other producers Swathi Reddy Gunupati and Suresh Varma, everyone was on the same page, and equally passionate about this film. They were equally thrilled with the title ‘Mangalavaaram’ as it was a catchy one and as expected, it reached the audience quite well.

Please share three reasons why Mangalavaaram should be watched.
The first reason is the story. It is the backbone of the film and I have touched on some contemporary aspects that no one has done so far. So the audience must watch the film for the story which is a major USP.

Secondly, the film’s making is great and the audience will have a terrific experience in theatres.

Third, the music for the film by Ajneesh Loknath who worked on Kantara, and sound designer MR Radhakrishna. The background score and sound of the film will surely give you goosebumps.

Also, the twists and reveals in the film will definitely stun you. Especially in the last fifteen minutes. You may even want to carry a notebook to keep track of all.

What are your box-office expectations from Mangalavaaram?
I only care about the buyers getting their investment back. Whatever surplus we make on the movie will be god’s blessing and the audience’s love. I’m not expecting anything. Even for RX 100 I never had any expectations and it became a huge hit.  A movie’s true success can only happen when the buyers will have their money back.

In the trailer, Payal was shown much later. Can we expect the same in the movie?
Yes! I’m revealing it right now. Payal will appear around the interval. The first half will be laden with questions and the second half will give a clarity and reveal of everything.

Sequels are a trend at the moment. Do you have any plans for Mangalavaaram 2?
You won’t be asking this question after the release day morning show. You’ll get complete clarity then.

What are your future plans after Mangalavaaram? Any plans of working with big league heroes?
I do have some projects that will be revealed when the time comes. Coming to heroes, everything depends on the story. If I feel a particular story suits a big hero, I will go to any big name in the industry, that’s not a problem.

Guntur Kaaram business meets expectations: Producers delighted

0

The Producers are delighted as Guntur Kaaram business met their expectations. It is widely known that the film is being shaped up in the massive combination of Superstar Mahesh Babu and Trivikram. That is why the film is surrounded by massive expectations in the trade, fans, and audiences. Accordingly, Guntur Kaaram business meets the expectations, and that makes the producers delighted.

Nowadays, the producers are really struggling to finalize the deals for their films. Many upcoming releases have been struggling to close the theatrical deals recently.

The Distributors are not ready to offer massive prices that are quoted by producers. With no other choice left, the producers are compromising and closing the deals at 60 – 70% of their expected prices and even the non-theatrical business deals are also not closing at their expected prices.

In these times, Guntur Kaaram business met the expectations of producers and that has made them delighted, and they are in a very safe position.

They expected the film will do 150Cr theatrical business, and it did the same range of business. The non-theatrical business is also closed at very high price. Guntur Kaaram’s total business is said to be closed at the range of 290Cr.

It is widely known that the film is scheduled for a Sankranthi release that is popular for overflows as well if movies get positive talk. The movie budget is said to be in the range of 220Cr and the makers are very comfortable and happy with the table profits. The film also registered the highest business for Mahesh Babu, Trivikram and a regional film as well.

Poor advance bookings for Adhurs re-release

0

NTR’s Adhurs is next in line of the Tollywood re-releases. The comedy entertainer will hit the screens on 18th November and the advance bookings have opened. The initial trends of bookings are not so good and even the big centres of RTC X Roads are showing limited bookings. In comparison, Mega Star Chiranjeevi’s Shankar Dada MBBS released earlier this month had a better booking performance.

The lack of interest in Adhurs’ re-release has once again proved that the re-releases are not able to create magic like earlier days. Re-releases used to be a unique experience but now their novelty has worn off.

For Adhurs, it seems that even fans are not interested in celebrating. Even the general audience seems not interested and we need to see whether the bookings will pick up as re-release time gets closer.

Adhurs was directed by VV Vinayak, who earlier directed NTR in Aadi and Samba. While Aadi was a massive blockbuster, Samba failed to recreate the magic. Adhurs was the duo’s third collaboration and it was a massive hit and box-office success majorly due to its comedy. NTR and Brahmanadam’s comedy track along with Devi Sri Prasad’s foot-tapping music made Adhurs a massive hit in 2010.
