NHRC Summons Hyderabad Police Over Pushpa 2 Stampede Incident

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued a notice to the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, C.V. Anand, requesting a detailed report regarding the tragic death of a woman, Revathi, during a stampede at the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2’ on December 4, 2024.

The incident, which occurred during an event featuring actor Allu Arjun, reportedly drew an overwhelming crowd despite lacking official clearance. This has raised serious questions about the planning, crowd control measures, and alleged police negligence.

According to a complaint filed on December 5, 2024, Revathi died, and her two children sustained injuries amid the chaos. The complaint further alleges that the police from Chikkadpally station, who were deployed for crowd management, resorted to a lathi charge, leading to panic and the resulting stampede.

The NHRC’s intervention follows growing criticism over the handling of the event and the lack of preventive steps by law enforcement authorities. The Commission has sought clarity on the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the alleged use of force and the absence of necessary safety arrangements. The matter continues to spark public concern over accountability and crowd safety at large-scale public gatherings.

Varun Dhawan’s next Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai gets a release date

Bollywood Actor Varun Dhawan is currently working for Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The film also stars Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur playing the female lead roles. The makers have announced the release date of the film, which will be on 10th April, 2026. An official poster confirming this was also released.

Khaleja re-release bookings on fire: Off to a record-breaking start

Khaleja, starring Mahesh Babu, directed by Trivikram Srinivas, became a big disaster when it released in 2010. But the film attained a cult status in the later years for its story, direction and the performance of Mahesh Babu and earned widespread acclaim. Now, the film is set for a re-release following the recent trend on 30th May, co-inciding with the birthday of Krishna, late veteran Actor and father of Mahesh Babu.

The film’s advance bookings opened today evening and it crossed more than 1 crore before night, showcasing the anticipation audience has. In Book My Show, the film saw an hourly trending of 13K tickets, stunning all. Till now, only Gabbar Singh had the record of crossing 5K tickets, and Khaleja has doubled this number, creating a new record.

The bookings are not only strong for the Opening day but also till the entire weekend, witnessing good advance bookings. The film’s re-release has all the chances of beating the collections of Murari’s re-release and may also become the first double-digit grosser in the re-release category.

Sarangapani Jathakam Streaming on OTT Now

Sarangapani Jathakam is the latest comedy drama starring Priyadarshi, which was released in theaters recently. The film did not do well at the box office, and the latest news is that Sarangapani Jathakam is now streaming on OTT.

Prime Video, the famous digital platform, has acquired the digital rights to this film, directed by Indraganti Mohanakrishna. Roopa Koduvayur played the female lead, while Vennela Kishore appeared in the hero’s friend’s role.

Don Franchise is one of the famous franchises/universes of Bollywood. Two years ago, the third film in the franchise, Don 3, was announced with Ranveer Singh playing the lead role. Kiara Advani was announced as the lead actress, but now the news is that Kriti Sanon replaces Kiara Advani in Don 3.

In 2023, it was confirmed that Ranveer Singh would take on the iconic role of Don, carrying the legacy forward from Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, and Farhan Akhtar confirmed his return to direction after over ten years. Kiara Advani, originally cast as the female lead, had to withdraw due to her pregnancy.

Don 3: Kriti Sanon Replaces Kiara Advani

The fans of the actress might feel bad, but the news is almost confirmed that Kriti Sanon replaces Kiara Advani in Don 3. With Kriti joining, the casting looks almost finished. Farhan finished much of the location scouting and is set to work with an international stunt team on the film’s action scenes. 

The shoot of Don 3 will mainly be done in Europe, and the locations are secured. The script is finalized, needing only minor tweaks and action design. Pre-production will continue for several months, with filming set for October/November 2025.

Don 3 will mark the first collaboration of Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon, and the actress will complete her current projects, Tere Ishk Mein and Cocktail 2, before starting Don 3. She will also star in a horror thriller named Nai Naveli with Aanand L. Rai, aiming for a 2026 release.
