Hanuman director Prashanth Varma is unnecessarily creating a big drama. It is widely known that the young director is coming up with the pan-Indian film, Hanuman and it is getting released in theaters worldwide on Sankranthi season. The Sankranthi festival is the most valued season as per the box office prospects for the Telugu film industry and which is why multiple movies will get released during that period of time.

Sankranthi 2024 is heavily packed with five releases. Along with Mahesh Babu, Venkatesh, Ravi Teja and Nagarjuna are also coming in competition. Hanuman is also one of the films lined up for Sankranthi release and the film has developed a good craze around it. However, Hanuman director Prashanth Varma is unnecessarily creating a big drama.

Definitely no one has a right to force any movie to postpone from the announced release date of Hanuman as it is completely their wish they can come as on announced date without succumbing to any pressure or other issues.

But they also should understand that everyone wants the best release for their film. Guntur Kaaram has massive stakes involved and the business of the film will be 5 times more than the business of Hanuman so they want the big number of theaters.

They have planned to lock the maximum theaters and even buyers are also interested in buying Mahesh and Trivikram’s film. So the team of Hanuman cannot accuse that Guntur Kaaram Producers are locking maximum theaters and killing their cinema. As said above, the director of Hanuman, Prashanth Varma is indirectly saying unnecessary comments in the promotional interviews.

Prashanth Varma is indirectly making many controversial comments, as he already told that his film’s team faced difficulties during the Censor formalities and said someone tried to stop his film. Ravi Teja has dubbed his voice for the monkey character in Hanuman so Prashanth Varma can praise him, but he is indirectly saying that, unlike some people who want to stop or damage the film, Ravi Teja dubbed his voice despite his own movie, Eagle set to be released for Sankranthi.

There is no need to degrade others I order to praise the gesture of Ravi Teja. As said above, Prashanth Varma also alleged that someone tried to stop their film during the Censor stage, which is definitely a big statement and directly pulling the legs of other producers. He also indirectly stated that Guntur Kaaram has over the top mass elements and Hanuman is a clean film.

See there are multiple films are getting released for the upcoming Sankranthi festival and no team, director, or hero said that someone blackmailed them to postpone and nor did they say some people targeted them. Only Prashanth Varma from Hanuman team has said this. Definitely, the movie has craze and there is no need for the director to create a drama.

Undoubtedly the 1st preference of the audience and buyers is going to be Guntur Kaaram and it’s receiving huge offers from buyers. Buyers are offering MGs, SGs, and Hires on quoted prices as they believe this combo will give a jackpot for them.

For other films, it will be a struggle as there is heavy competition for theaters. The distributors and movie producers are trying to lock as many theaters as much as possible. For this, they are not asking theatre owners for any advances or risk amount and asking them to provide just the theatres.

The medium budget films have a big struggle to release in many centers. against all challenges. Among the 4 medium-budget films, Saindhav has a good advantage as it is backed up by Suresh Babu and Dilraju. This film will get the biggest release after Guntur Kaaram. The struggle for theatres is very high and producers and distributors have no other choice than to take a huge risk.

When the clash was announced between Prabhas’s Salaar and Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki everyone including trade circles, expected it to be a clash of titans. Sadly, both the films have underperformed until now. Salaar and Dunki are not taking a bigger jump this weekend.

The Telugu version of Salaar opened with an extraordinary weekend, and it opened with an average weekend in other languages. The Telugu version of Salaar also struggled on weekdays and the trade hopes that the film will take a big bump on the 2nd weekend.

There are no many expectations for Salaar’s box office performance in Tamil, Malayalam, but Hindi and Telugu trade have expected a big jump but for new year weekend which has not happened on Friday and Saturday.

Yesterday the movie has collected around just a mere 2.5Cr share in Telugu states, which is a shocking and lower number. Even in Hindi, the film did not take any jump from Friday to Saturday.

The same can be said with Dunki. The emotional comedy drama of Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani has struggled on weekdays. The film was expected to go big on the weekend but it is not happening. Dunki collected 8.5Cr net yesterday in India, which is below the expectations.

Both films need a bigger jump for today and tomorrow to post some good numbers at the box office. Overseas also, the movies are not putting good numbers at the box office.

With his second film, Jawan SRK again broke his records and put bigger numbers than Pathaan. The same goes with Superstar Rajinikanth. Recently, he continuously faced failures with his films. Petta was decent, but it did not put Rajinikanth range numbers, nor it did not create any records at the box office.

Moreover, his film with Shankar, 2 Point 0, did not do great numbers in the Tamil market. Finally, he gave a solid comeback with Jailer and broke all the records in Tamil Cinema and became the first film to collect more than 500Cr Gross and in Telugu also the film collected close to 100Cr Gross. Jailer also collected 625Cr Gross worldwide and it ls the top Grosser of this year along with being a record profitable film for sun pictures.

Rajinikanth proved his box office stamina with Jailer and likewise Shah Rukh Khan also had a great year with Pathaan and Jawan.

Directors are killing films to capitalize on the sequel craze

The results of pan-India blockbusters Baahubali, and KGF have created a trend of sequels in industry. Coming to the Telugu industry, most of the films today are planning for sequels even before the first film goes on set. Due to this, the directors are making very wrong decisions and killing Part 1 to exploit the Part 2 craze.

Recently we saw in Skanda’s climax that suddenly a second Ram character was introduced with no logic. This was done to pave the path for a second part. Even the audience did not understand what was going on in the film. Peddha Kaapu is another example of the same and Srikanth Addala created multiple confusing threads with no clear explanation. 

Even in Leo, this connectivity problem existed. Leao could have been a good standalone film but the forced and unconvincing connection to the LCU was something criticized by most. Part 2 was also announced much to the amusement of the audience. Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed that the flashback in Leo was wrong and the true details will be revealed in the sequel.

Even a biggie like Salaar is also facing the same. Prashanth Neel has created multiple threads for part 2 and nothing has shown clearly in part 1. The audience felt they did not watch the complete film and their viewing experience was impacted due to the maker’s desire for a sequel. This has impacted the box office figures of all the movies. Kalyan Ram’s Devil has also promised a sequel and with the audience rejecting part 1, it will be interesting to see how its sequel plays out.

Many big directors are making the mistake of looking to create a franchise or sequel craze and ignoring the existing one. The directors need to understand that part 1 should work well to create a craze for part 2. Both Baahubali and KGF became global box office blockbusters because Baahubali 1 and KGF 2 set up the existing world well and anticipation and curiosity were built among the audience.

The recent failures of his previous movies have affected Nagarjuna very badly. There was a time when his movie selections were an inspiration for other senior heroes. With films like Manam, Oopiri and Soggade Chinni Nayana he delivered major hits and the movies put up massive numbers at the box office. Post these continuous failures, he has taken a lot of time and selected a Malayalam remake in the form of Naa Saami Ranga. The team made changes to match Telugu nativity and the shooting happened across quick schedules with Nagarjuna and team aiming to get the film ready for Sankranthi release.

However, with multiple films lined up for the festive season and lack of theatres, the producer wanted to back off from the competition. Nagarjuna, on the other hand, assured him that all the financial hurdles would be cleared and he would personally take the responsibility. Now it’s official the movie is coming on 14th January.

Chekka Chivantha Vaanam became a super duper hit at the box office, and the Telugu version did not see much success. Devil Day 2 box office collections: Total collections

Devil Day 2 box office collections were below par. Devil, the latest Telugu release by Kalyan Ram, faced a weak opening day due to its low buzz and weak promotions despite receiving decent reviews and positive word of mouth. This week, Salaar has been running successfully in theatres, which further impacted Devil’s performance. Devil Day 2 box office collections were below par.

The film Devil should have jumped on day 2 after a low start, but it dropped even further. Many centers witnessed a drop to 40% – 50%; on day 2, the film has collected around 1.2Cr share, which takes the total worldwide share around 3.4Cr approx.

The theatricals are valued at 20Cr, and collecting a mere 3.4Cr Share is a bad performance for the film. Today and tomorrow, the film should take a huge jump to cross double-digit share. The team has announced Part 2, but the performance of Part 1 defines there is no chance for Part 2.

Malvika Nair, Ajay, Satya, Edward Sonnenblick, Elnaaz Norouzi, Srikanth Iyengar, and Seetha are all key cast members in Devil. The music for this movie was composed by Harshavardhan Rameshwar. Guntur Kaaram must get permission for 6 shows in Andhra Pradesh. It is widely known that Superstar Mahesh Babu is coming with family action entertainer Guntur Kaaram under the direction of Trivikram. The fans are pumped up for the film’s release, and the recently released “Kurchi Madathapetti” Song was loved by one and all. Guntur Kaaram must get permission for 6 shows in Andhra Pradesh.

Mahesh’s Guntur Kaaram is getting released on Sankranthi, and it faces competition with four other medium-budget films. In Nizam, the big films are getting the required ticket hikes, special shows, and 1 AM shows, but the problem is the same is not easily possible in Andhra Pradesh.

The government of Andhra Pradesh is not allowing for 6 shows and the required ticket hike permissions for big films. If a movie has a maximum number of theatres, then there is no need to worry too much about these special shows and hikes, but Guntur Kaaram is hitting the screens with heavy competition.

In A&B Centers, the movie is getting 1/3rd of screens, so other films know that overflows of Guntur Karam can make their movies house fulls. No one is willing to opt out of the Sankranthi race despite competition.

Guntur Kaaram needs 6 shows of permission in AP to cover all these things. Then, all theatres can screen the film’s special shows, covering the loss of regular shows. The makers should request permission from the Andhra government for 6 shows and around 60 RS Hike. We must wait and see whether the government allows them the required things. The Guntur Kaaram team can request by citing the Sankranthi festival holidays.
