Guntur Kaaram – Above Average at the box office

Guntur Kaaram is in the final stages of its run at the box office. The movie is already not posting any shares this week, and this weekend will mark the end of its run. The film boasts an excellent combination of Trivikram and Mahesh Babu, but the promotional content failed to match the combination hype. Especially, Trivikram’s mark was badly missed in the promotional material. This has significantly affected the film, as it opened with a below-par WOM (Word of Mouth) and reviews with that A completely negative campaign happened on social media

All buyers expected a big loss venture, similar to Brahmotasavam and Agnyaathavaasi, after seeing the early show’s response. Surprisingly, the film held very well throughout the festival week and posted good numbers. Andhra buyers even achieved breakeven and made decent profits.Other buyers recovered around 75%-80% but ended up with losses. However, in every area, the movie performed better than expected

The movie’s worldwide theatrical rights are valued at 130Cr, including GST in Telugu States. The movie has recovered around 90 percent worldwide. With a 90 percent recovery, the movie is settling into an above-average status. Mahesh scored five consecutive 100 Crore share films from Bharat Ane Nenu to Guntur Kaaram, which is a record in the Telugu cinema industry. No one expected Guntur Kaaram to make more than a 100cr share. The rise of Mahesh Babu’s Super Stardom gives a big relief to buyers and the producer.

Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam banned in Kuwait

Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Lal Salaam is set to release next week and the censor formalities have been completed. Ahead of its release, the makers have encountered a big roadblock. Lal Salaam has now been banned in Kuwait owing to its sensitive content.

The film is dealing with a sensitive concept of Hindu and Muslim fights that ignite due to a local cricket match. In the Middle East, clearing censors with this kind of film is very tough as they will not allow religion-sensitive films that are set against any particular community or country.

Recently Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter was banned in total Middle East due to anti-Pakistani content. Now Lal Salaam is said to be banned in Kuwait. We need to see whether the team can clear the censor before release or if it will be banned in other Middle Eastern countries as well.

The film directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth will feature Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles while the Superstar will be seen in an extended cameo. The film’s music has been scored by AR Rahman. Cinematographer Vishnu Rangasamy and editor Pravin Baaskar are part of the technical team.

Saindhav is now streaming OTT

Venkatesh’s Saindhav has now made its way to OTT platform for its digital premiere. The action thriller is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. The film was released last month for Sankranthi and despite having a loaded star cast and interesting premise, it failed to cope with the Sankranthi competition and ended up a disaster.

What has surprised everyone is the maker’s decision to make it available for streaming just three weeks after its theatrical release. This early streaming has caught the industry’s attention.

The movie was made on a huge budget, and the theatrical rights are valued at 25Cr and ended up with around 8Cr share worldwide. Even on the festival days, the film failed to put in good numbers, and after the festival holidays, it completely crashed at the box office.

The film starred Shraddha Srinath, Arya, Nawazuddin Siddique, Andreah Jeremiah, and Jishu Sengupta among others. Satish Kolanu directed this action thriller which revolves Venkatesh and his quest to keep his child safe and alive. Venkat Boyanapalli produced the film from the Niharika Entertainment banner, and Santhosh Narayanan composed the music. 

Saindhav follows the life of Venkatesh who plays the title role and works at a harbor in the fictional City of Chandra Prastha. He resides with his daughter Gayatri, played by Baby Ssara, and his neighbor Mano, portrayed by Shradhha Srinath. What happens when Saindhav is in a dire need of a particular drug for his daughter is what the movie unravels.

Bubblegum OTT streaming date and release partner details

Suma and Rajeev Kanakala’s son Roshan made his film debut with the romantic drama Bubblegum. The film was released on 29th December and couldn’t impress the audience in theatres. Bubblegum received poor reviews and became a failure at the box office. The film is now getting ready for its digital premiere.

Aha has picked up the digital rights of the film and it will stream online from 9th February onwards. Ravikanth Perepu, known for his work in Kshanam and Krishna and His Leela has directed this film that follows the life of a youngster who aspires to be a DJ and how certain unexpected moments turn his life upside down.

Targeted specifically towards youth, the film was let down by forced emotions and dragged the second half with repetitive scenes worked against the film. The film did have a few moments and a couple of songs that worked well and now it needs to be seen how the OTT audience responds to this romantic drama.

Lal Salaam censor runtime and story plot details

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam is all set to release next week on 9th February. The film directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth will feature Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles while the Superstar will be seen in an extended cameo.

The film’s censor certification has been completed and it will have a runtime of 151 minutes (2 Hours 31 minutes). The film follows the clashes that are ignited by a trivial incident during a cricket match which is manipulated by some to pit the Hindus against the Muslims which sends the village into chaos.

The film was initially scheduled to release for Sankranthi and was later pushed to February 9th. Lal Salaam is produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the banner Lyca Productions. It is said that after the stupendous success of Jailer, the role of Rajinikanth in Lal Salaam has been extended slightly but it’s still a pretty limited one with a big impact.

Aishwarya Rajinikanth is making a return to the director’s seat after nearly 5 years with Lal Salaam. The film’s music has been scored by AR Rahman. Cinematographer Vishnu Rangasamy and editor Pravin Baaskar are part of the technical team.

Horror film Pindam streaming on two OTT platforms

Tollywood’s latest horror film Pindam starring Sriram, Srinivasa Avarsala, Eeshwari Rao, and Khushi Ravi has made its way to OTT platforms. The film is now streaming on Aha and Amazon Prime Video. Directed by Saikiran Daida, Pindam was released on 15th December last year and was billed as “the scariest film ever”.

The film is produced by Yeshwanth Daggumati under the banner Kalaahi Media. Pindam turned out to be a typical horror thriller with a few striking moments.

Despite the hype and promotions focussed on branding it a unique horror film, the film received mixed reviews and many claimed it was yet another stereotypical horror film. The film’s background score and pre-climax versions were noteworthy while it was criticized for its dull writing in the first half and some predictable moments.

Pindam follows the events after a spirit possesses a 6-year-old and how a demonologist and her team rescues the child. After a mixed theatrical response, it now needs to be seen how its digital premiere goes and what kind of talk it manages to create among the netizens.

Megastar Chiranjeevi Sets His Foot Into The Mighty World Of Vishwambhara In A Massive Set In Hyderabad

Megastar Chiranjeevi pleased his fans and movie buffs with the title teaser of his eagerly awaited magnum opus Vishwambhara which created ripples across the country for its top-notch technical standards. Many thought that the VFX work was on par with global cinema. To build the mega mass beyond the universe, the team erected 13 huge sets where the major part of the movie will be canned.

Although the shoot began in the last week of November, Chiranjeevi set his foot into the mighty world of Vishwambhara today. The megastar joined the shoot today. The production works are progressing in a big set in Hyderabad. The creative released by the team shows Chiranjeevi stepping his foot into the world of Vishwambhara. It’s so creative and mesmerizing.

The mega fantasy adventure is directed by Vassishta of Bimbisara fame under the leading production house UV Creations. Vikram, Vamsi, and Pramod are producing the movie on a high budget which is going to be the costliest film for Chiranjeevi to date.

MM Keeravani scores the music, while Chota K Naidu is the cinematographer. AS Prakash is the production designer, while Sushmita Konidela is the costume designer.

Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao and Santhosh Kamireddy are the editors for the film. Sri Siva Shakthi Datta and Chandrabose are the lyric writers, while Srinivas Gavireddy, Ganta Sridhar, Nimmagadda Srikanth, and Mayukh Adithya are the script associates.

The makers also announced the release of the movie for Sankranthi in 2025 on January 10th.

Devara Date Seized by Deverakonda

Vijay Deverakonda’s Family Star has finally confirmed its release date after multiple postponements. Family Star will now be released on April 5th, 2004. Interestingly, this date was announced by NTR’s Devara makers early last year. Sometime back producer Dil Raju, who’s backing this project said that Family Star’s release date will be announced if Devara gets postponed.

Family Star is directed by Parasuram who had earlier collaborated with Vijay Deverakonda on the superhit ‘Geetha Govindam’ This film features Mrunal Thakur opposite Vijay and fans are eager to catch what the team has in store for them.

Dil Raju is producing the project under Sri Venkateswara Creations and it will be a bilingual Telugu-Tamil film with music by Gopi Sundar. Family Star’s release date is quite a good one as it will overlap 2 weeks of continuous holidays.

Apart from Family Star, the fate of another medium-budget film Tillu Square also depended on Devara postponement. Tillu Square producer Naga Vamsi has already announced that the final of the highly popular DJ Tillu’s sequel ‘Tillu Square’ will be released on March 29th in theaters worldwide. This film promises to be an entertaining ride with Siddhu Jonnalagadda playing his favorite role and Anupama Parameswaran showcasing her glam feast.
