Sree Leela is the current sensation of Tollywood with a huge demand and several films in her lineup. In a pretty short period, she has done several movies and established herself as a good dancer and actress in top demand. She made her debut with Pelli SandaD and with Dhamaka, she joined the elite league of star actresses in Tollywood very quickly and signed multiple films continuously.

Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram was her 1st film with a big star hero. Initially, Pooja Hegde was the main lead actress and Sree Leela was the 2nd actress. But after one schedule the team changed the decision and made Sree Leela as main lead actress.

The film was released in the Sankranthi season and opened with a below-par word of mouth and reviews. Everyone thought it would be a hat trick disaster for Sree Leela after Aadikeshava and Extraordinary Man. Thanks to Mahesh Babu’s box-office pull, the movie did well and ended up with above-average status. It was a big break for Sree Leela as she got huge recognition in other languages too. The main reason is Kurchi Madathapetti song.

Mahesh and Sree Leela’s mass steps received a thunderous response for the song after the release and went viral on the internet. It was one of the main reasons behind the film registering massive viewership in other languages on Netflix. Till now Sree Leela gets very has been busy in Tollywood. But now, she has attracted interest from other industries too. The film was a big break for Sree Leela and got her the much-deserved recognition.

With the advent of pan-India movies, Guntur Kaaram was a critical movie for the actress in terms of exposure. Pan-India movies can bring great fame and stardom to actresses and now Sree Leela has to make smart decisions going forward.

Harish Shankar Slams ‘Great’ Website

Eagle (2024), an action thriller starring Ravi Teja, hit screens last Friday to mixed-to-positive reviews from critics and audiences. However, People Media Factory, the studio that bankrolled the film, claims the film is faring well at the ticket window. To celebrate the same, a success meeting was held in Hyderabad yesterday.

Harish Shankar, a close associate of ‘Mass Maharaja’, was also part of the event alongside the film’s main cast and crew. Speaking at the event, the director, who’s known for making mass commercial entertainers, made some strong remarks on a website about attacking him personally. He slammed the writers for gossiping about their private lives for cheap views and likes.

He went on to add that this ‘Great’ site has been spreading extreme negativity on films by publishing reviews (with low ratings) and underreporting box-office figures and advance bookings. Earlier, the production company’s official Twitter handle took a dig at the same web portal for their review of the film.

One of the oldest portals in the Telugu states, the website has a strong inclination towards targeted negative campaigns, gossiping about celebrities’ affairs, remuneration demands, and the purchase of properties. Additionally, the site had received severe backlash for ‘hate speech’ against a specific group of politicians and their political parties. It’s the first time a person from the film fraternity has explicitly criticised this ‘Great’ site. It must be seen how the California-based news company will react to these comments.

Yatra 2 director Mahi V. Raghav is facing significant allegations due to the government allocating 2 areas for mini studios. He strongly counters them.

Yatra 2 director Mahi V. Raghav-Rayalaseema was never the first choice for film shootings

If my intention was not to develop and contribute to my region, I would have asked for a place to build a studio in Hyderabad or Vizag. Why would I want to build a studio at Madanapalle, which is considered a backward area.”, asks Filmmaker Mahi V. Raghav. His directorial ‘Yatra 2’ is currently running in cinemas. A section of the media accused him of getting benefitted with two acres of land at Horsley Hills, Madanapalle by Andhra Pradesh Government for making ‘Yatra 2’. Mahi V. Raghav has responded and clarified these allegations.

In his words… ” I have been working as a writer, producer, and director in the film industry for 16 years. I made my debut in films in 2008. I have established Moon Water Pictures and Three Autumn Leaves production houses. I am quite familiar as a Producer and Director in the industry. I have made films, ‘Village Lo Vinayakudu’, ‘Kudirite Cuppu Coffee’, ‘ Paathasala’, ‘Anando Brahma’, ‘ Yatra’, ‘Siddha Lokam Ela Undi’, ‘Yatra 2’ and web series, ‘Save The Tigers’ and ‘Saithaan’. I was born and brought up in Madanapalle which is a part of the Rayalaseema Region. I have completed my studies also in my hometown. Rayalaseema Region doesn’t have much importance in the film industry. No one shows interest in shooting films in this area.

Among my projects, Anando Brahma and Save The Tigers were not filmed at Rayalaseema. I shot ‘Paathasala’, ‘Yatra 2’, ‘Siddha Lokamela Undi’, and ‘And Saithaan’ in the Rayalaseema Region. In the last two years, ‘Saithaan’, ‘Yatra 2’, and ‘Siddha Lokamela Undi’ were almost shot in Madanapalle and Kadapa areas only. I have sent 20 – 25 Crores over these three projects. The reason behind this is, I want to contribute to the place where I was born and brought up. That’s why I have spent my hard-earned money at my birthplace. By shooting films over there, locals will benefit as lodges, hotels, food, and juniors are needed while shooting these films.

During this journey, I have decided to build a mini studio in Rayalaseema. I intend to help the local people with this studio. Those who have any common sense can think about this and can understand. I haven’t asked for 50 or 100 acres for the sake of Studio construction. I wanted to build a mini studio on only 2 acres. It would be helpful to those who wanted to shoot a film or web series and also the locals benefit from these shoots. Basic amenities will be available to do shootings at this place.

What is wrong with this? Those who don’t want to do anything will never do. During all these years, no one came forward from the industry for the betterment of Rayalaseema. No one came forward. You don’t have any intention to do it and you also don’t want anyone to step forward. A section of the media doesn’t even think about this. Their favorable Government provided lands to their people wherever they asked. No one questions about this. But, they are doing a ruckus when I want to build a mini studio on two acres in my area so that it would be helpful to local people

Hanu-Man Hindi Joins 50Cr Club

Prasanth Varma’s Hanuman is smashing box office records one after another. After emerging as the Sankranthi 2024 winner, the film has also achieved the status of the biggest Sankranthi hit in the 92 years of Telugu cinema history. Apart from Telugu, the film has done excellent business in Hindi as well and has done something that a few Telugu films have managed so far.

Hanuman has now joined the Rs 50 crore nett club in Hindi and by doing so, it has become only the 11th South Indian film to do so. Following the films from other star heroes to achieve this feat.

But somehow the movie was underperformed on trade expectations. Hanu-Man Hindi version posts good numbers but fails to meet trade expectations. In Tamil and Malayalam, the movie failed even to post good numbers. In Telugu, it performs above everyone’s expectations.

Already works for the movie’s sequel Jai Hanuman have started and the audience is eager to know who will be playing the role of Sri Ram and Hanuman. Prasanth Varma is exploring various options and we surely are in for a massive spectacle on a much larger canvas.

Vikram Teases Fans with Mahaan Sequel

Mahaan is undoubtedly one of the best films of Vikram and also starred Vikram along with his son Dhruv Vikram. The movie was directly streamed on Prime Video due to Corona pandemic. The fans and audiences felt it was a theatrical experience film and unnecessarily the makers sold it to the OTT platform. It was one of the most stylish as well as unique commercial films in the history of Kollywood. Now Vikram has shared a picture with hints of Mahaan 2.

The fans and audience are super excited about this as they want a sequel for this film. They want to experience it in theatres and it needs to be seen whether a Mahaan sequel is actually in plans or it’s just a casual post. Fans and audiences believe that it is a hint for a sequel.

Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Mahaan marked Vikram’s first onscreen collaboration with his son Dhruv. The film also features Simran, Bobby Simha, Sananth, Vettai Muthukumar, Deepak Paramesh, and Aadukalam Naren.

Meanwhile, Vikram is currently awaiting the release of Thangalaan, helmed by Pa Ranjith. He is also working on Chiyaan 62, helmed by SU Arunkumar.

Tollywood Suffers from Sequel Issues

Baahubali and KGF with their massive success had such a great impact on Indian cinema, especially in Telugu cinema where every other small or big film is ending with a sequel announcement. Recently it happened for Skanda, Peddha Kapu, Devil, Salar, Hanuman, and Eagle. Even other language films are also doing the same. 

In Telugu, there are several films with sequels already in progress. The problem is if the story demands or it has a bigger span announcing sequels is not an issue. But most of the films are using first part for the introduction to 2nd part and end the first film on an abrupt note.

There is also another small problem with the sequels. If the first part works then there is no issue and a huge buzz will be created on other parts. But right now most of the film’s first part itself is not working which is resulting in shelving of sequel plans.

The makers need to be careful and announce a 2-part or a 3-part film only if the need arises. Going for multiple parts just because its a trend will only result in half-baked movies and no sequels later on. The rush for part 2 should not result in part 1 failure. If a story can be conveyed in one part, why extend it to a second one ?

Aishwarya Rajinikanth blames Anirudh for 3 movie failure

Aishwarya Rajinkanth made a return to directorial duties after 9 long years. She made her debut with Dhanush and Shruti Haasan starter ‘3’ in 2012 and later directed a crime comedy Vai Raja Vai in 2014. She has been away from the director’s chair till Lal Salaam which was released recently.

Lal Salaam is a total washout in Telugu and is doing below-par business in Tamil with average word of mouth and reviews. The film featured Superstar Rajinikanth in an extended cameo and was released without any hype. During the promotion of Lal Salaam, Aishwarya made a rather interesting comment about the result of her debut film ‘3’.

She said the blockbuster response to Kolaveri song was shocking to everyone and the song’s massive success overshadowed the movie’s content. The content of the film was so serious and the song set different expectations for the film, which resulted in the audience’s disappointment.

“The movie received a way better reception during its recent re-release & telecast because the song’s magic had worn off and I am happy that it helped Anirudh’s career,” said Aishwarya.

This statement has surprised many as music was the biggest USP of 3. Aishwarya instead of blaming weak script and screenplay blaming Kolaveri song has not gone down well with many.

Indonesian Actress Roped in for Mahesh Babu-Rajamouli’s Film

Mahesh Babu- Rajamouli’s upcoming big-budget action-adventure film has got everyone waiting with great anticipation. Movie lovers are eager to see what Mahesh and Rajamouli have in store for them. At the moment, the movie is in the pre-production stage, and get cast and crew are being finalised.
