Hanuman extended version to stream on OTT?

The much-anticipated Hanuman OTT streaming was expected to happen last weekend. However, to the surprise of many, there hasn’t been any update from the team regarding the streaming date. While the Hindi television premiere and digital premiere streaming are scheduled for tomorrow, fans are eagerly awaiting news about the OTT release.

Prashanth Varma and Zee 5 had officially announced that an OTT update would be coming a few days back, but so far, there has been no further information.In response to the growing anticipation and curiosity among fans, Prashanth Varma recently shed light on the reason for the delay.

BB4: Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu Reunites

Here’s some exciting news for the Nandamuri fans. Balakrishna’s fans are always excited when their favorite hero does a film in the combination of Mass Director Boyapati Sreenu and this combo is soon going to reunite. The combination has already delivered three blockbusters Simha, Legend, Akhanda.

Balakrishna is currently busy with Bobby’s film and recently the first look and glimpse was released on Shivaratri. The movie is planned to be released in the 2nd half of this year. After this project, Balayya will join hands with Boyapati again.

The official announcement will be made in Ugadi and the shooting will start in July. Geetha Arts will most likely produce this film. There were reports earlier that Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu will be back with Akhanda 2. Whether this project is a sequel to Akhanda or another commercial entertainer is yet to be confirmed.

In 2010, Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu began their collaboration with a big blockbuster ‘Simha’. The second movie in their combination was ‘Legend’. ‘Akhanda’ rounded the hat-trick success. Fans are waiting with bated breath and hoping the fourth film in this blockbuster combination will be a big success.

Devi Sri Prasad, fondly known as DSP was the number 1 Tollywood music director in Telugu cinema till just a few years ago. However, in recent times he has been facing some tough times with several directors going for Thaman, Anirudh, and some other music directors. DSP, who used to have 3-4 movies a year during his peak last composed for Waltair Veerayya which was released in 2023 Sankranti.

But now, he is back to form with back-to-back major films in line up. So far, Pushpa 2 was the only biggie in his hands along with Suriya’s Kanguva. Recently, DSP signed 3 major films one is Naga Chaitanya’s Thandel which is a massive pan-India project produced by Geetha Arts. The next one is Sekhar Kammula’s Kubera which is a pan-India film starring Dhanush and Nagarjuna. 

The most recent addition to this lineup is Ajith’s next project Good Bad Ugly which was announced yesterday. Devi Sri Prasad also has Ustaad Bhagat Singh but it’s still unclear when it will be released. Along with this, he has Kollywood star Vishal’s Ratnam. With a bunch of biggies under his belt, fans and music lovers are hoping for some chartbusters from the composer and are wishing DSP regains his form.

Premalu’s 2nd weekend will be much bigger than the 1st one and looking at the current trend, it will collect double-digit gross in Telugu states and may be even more. The movie’s Telugu version doing well in the USA too. 

After 5 weeks, Premalu worldwide gross is 106 Cr and the 5th-week numbers are 10% bigger than the 4th week because of the Telugu release. Premalu Tamil version has also been released in theatres and it needs to be seen how it performs

As no distributors are coming for 100 crore, both movie makers are planning to release the film on their own. 

Both teams are super confident that these films will do miracles overseas with the support of all Indian languages.

According to recent reports, the Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry has blocked 18 OTT platforms for publishing vulgar and adult content. These platforms were warned by the ministry to regulate their content before making it available online, but it seems they have failed to do so.

This has prompted action from the government in order to protect the public from such content. The move comes after mounting criticism of the violence and explicit content depicted in some shows on OTT platforms.

Unlike in India, where films are reviewed and certified by a government-appointed board, streaming content lacks such regulation. This has led to concerns about the impact on viewers, especially younger audiences who may be exposed to inappropriate content without any parental controls.

The I&B Ministry has made it clear that these OTT platforms will face action for promoting content that is against the country’s laws and goes against public sensibilities. The government has cited the IT Act, the IPC, and the Representation of Women Act as grounds for taking action against these platforms.

And it seems they are serious about enforcing these laws, as 19 websites, 10 apps, and 57 social media handles have already been blocked nationwide. But what does this mean for popular OTT platforms like Netflix and Disney+? As two of the biggest players in the streaming market, they have a significant stake in this issue.

The I&B Ministry has already engaged with them to sensitize them about content and self-regulation. However, if they fail to comply with regulations, it is likely that their license may be suspended, affecting their operations in India.
