Fighter beats Dunki and Salaar on Netflix

0

Recently released Hrithik Roshan starrer, Fighter received a lukewarm response from the public. The film which also stars Deepika Padukone is directed by War fame, Siddarth Anand. Fighter initially carried a lot of hype but ended up being an average grosser. But it seems the film is doing very well on OTT. Fighter has beaten Dunki and Salaar on Netflix to much surprise.

This is a great achievement considering the film’s average performance in the theatres. The film was made on a lavishing budget and deals with a mission performed in the Indian Air Force. The film has debuted with 5.9M Global views. That’s bigger than Netflix Blockbusters, Dunki with 4.9M views, and Salaar with 1.6M views. Interestingly, Top Gun Maverick starring Tom Cruise garnered less views than Fighter.

Salaar had less views because Netflix bought only the South Indian views. The Hindi version of Salaar was sold to Disney+Hotstar which premieres after 4 weeks of release on Netflix. Fighter is trending #1 in many countries on Netflix and it may continue to do well in the coming days as well. Fighter is trending at #3 in the Non-English films category globally which is a remarkable achievement for the team.

Balakrishna is not in reality

0

Tollywood Actor Balakrishna attended the ceremony of the 10 Years for Legend. The event marks the 10th anniversary of his blockbuster hit, Legend directed by Boyapati Srinu. The cast and crew were present but one of the lead heroines of the film, Radhika Apte didn’t attend the event. Legend was released on March 28, 2014, and became the then-biggest grosser for both Boyapati Srinu and Balakrishna. The actor spoke at the event and some of his words felt he is not in reality.

Balakrishna said that everybody concentrates only on the collections today rather than the movie’s run. He mocked the movie teams claiming that they wrongly interpret the film’s collection even if the film runs for days in the theatres. He talked about Paathala Bhairavi, Mayabazaar, and Devadas which created history with their run in theatres. Balakrishna compared Legend to those films saying that Legend had a great run at the theatres. He also brought up the films, Simhaa and Akhanda.

The Actor thinks that these films are unique and creative but these are regular commercial blockbusters and nowhere to such yesteryear classics. Balakrishna and Boyapati may join hands again for a 4th film in their combo. Fans speculate that it could be Akhanda’s sequel but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Baahubali, Mahesh Babu, and Pushpa

Tollywood Actor Allu Arjun added one more feature to his cap. He is riding high with the Pan India success of his Pushpa. He also won the national award for his performance in the film. Allu Arjun became the first Telugu Actor to have won this award. Now, the actor has got a wax statue at Madame Tussauds in Dubai.

There are only three actors from Tollywood to have a wax statue at Madame Tussauds. Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, and Allu Arjun are the only three actors to have the wax statue. Prabhas too achieved a Pan India recognition with Baahubali and likewise had a wax statue in his Baahubali appearance. Mahesh Babu too enjoys nationwide popularity and got a statue. Now Allu Arjun with the phenomenal success of Pushpa managed to have the statue in Pushpa Style. The Actor through his social media accounts unveiled the statue at the unveiling ceremony.

His wife and kids were also present at the event. It also marked his 21st anniversary in the film Industry. His first Gangotri was released 20 years ago. On the work front, he is currently working on the sequel of Pushpa, Pushpa: The Rule. The release date is also announced. The film will release this August 15th on the occasion of Independence Day.

Mega Family silence on Allu Arjun’s wax statue

0

Tollywood Actor Allu Arjun recently posted an image of his Wax statue at Madame Tussauds, Dubai. He attended the opening event of the statue as well. The actor looked very happy during the unveiling of the statue. His wife Sneha Reddy and kids too were present. But there is a strategic silence from the mega family on Allu Arjun’s Wax statue.

No hero belonging to the Mega Family responded to Allu Arjun’s achievement. Allu Arjun is the first actor from the family to have his wax statue at Madame Tussauds, Dubai. He also becomes the third actor from Tollywood after Prabhas and Mahesh Babu to have a wax statue. This is a great achievement and honor. But the Mega family is still silent. Chiranjeevi who happens to be very active on Twitter didn’t respond yet. The same goes with his son, Ram Charan as well.

This shows the growing uncertainty among the Mega family. Fans have divided between Allu Arjun and other heroes. Ram Charan attained international recognition through RRR and started using the title Global Star tag. On the other hand, Allu Arjun won the National Award for his performance in Pushpa. But the same silence continued then also. This all doesn’t go well within the Mega Family. His next release is Pushpa 2: The Rule which may create more sensation.

Pushpa 2 Teaser set for release

0

For the past few days, there have been various speculation over Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 release delay. Several unconfirmed reports stated that the film will now be pushed back from the original release date of 15th August 2024. The team has now put the industry and media rumors to an end Pushpa 2 team confirmed the release date of 15th August.

Last year, for Allu Arjun’s birthday, the intro of Pushpa was released with an interesting point. This year, everyone expected the makers to release the first single. But Allu Arjun’s team officially has confirmed that the teaser will be released for the Icon Star’s birthday. This is a piece of very big news for fans and now all eyes are on 8th of April.

Allu Arjun has already ignited the fan’s curiosity about the film with his recent statements about the film.

“Pushpa2 is going to have a very different shade of Pushpa Raj than what you’ve seen in Pushpa because it’s the lower end of the spectrum that you’ve seen,” he said recently.

“In Pushpa The Rule you’ll see the highest end of the spectrum in terms of characterisation. In terms of scale and presentation & the canvas of problems is going to be much bigger,” he added.

Tillu Square sets box office on fire

Tillu Square starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran is a sequel to the blockbuster hit, DJ Tillu. The film was released today and it has set the box office on fire. Over 18K tickets got sold in the last hour on Book My Show. There are excellent openings and advance bookings for all the shows as well.

The film has already secured positive word-of-mouth and also carries the vibes of its prequel DJ Tillu. It is also on its way to becoming one of the biggest openers of the year after Guntur Kaaram which is a very big achievement. The US premieres are said to be crossing Half Million dollar mark which is a sensational start in the US market as well. The youth connect is a major plus point for the film. Many expected the film might not do well considering the craze DJ Tillu has. Replicating that same success would be a difficult task but Tillu Square looks all ready to pull it off.

The film like its prequel follows a similar plot but has more explicit and intimate scenes. The run time is around 2 hours and 27 minutes which also promises a fun ride. The film might become one of the biggest grossers of the year if the same momentum continues.

Kalki Team’s Silence Frustrates Prabhas Fans

0

Fans are eagerly awaiting for an update on Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD. Right from the day of the announcement, the makers have maintained a great level of secrecy about the project, and with the officially announced release date approaching fast, everyone’s left puzzled due to this prolonged silence.

Kalki was announced for 9th May release but with elections scheduled on the 13th of May in both Telugu states, the makers are left with no option but to postpone the release date. While there are heavy speculations about the delay, the team has still not officially about anything in this matter leaving Prabhas fans highly disappointed.

The same thing happened for Prabhas’ previous release Salaar where the team had not planned well and missed out on the original release date of September and moved to December and couldn’t capitalize completely on the combo’s craze. The decrease in hype affected Salaar numbers in other languages.

And now, the Kalki team is also doing the same. When the movie is released on a pan-India level, the promotions and updates also should be in the same way. Deviation from original release dates can lead to movie lovers losing interest and the only way to capture everyone’s attention is through regular updates.

Tillu Square Movie Review – As Hilarious as the Predecessor

0

Movie: Tillu Square
Rating: 3/5
Cast:  Sidhu Jonnalagadda, Anupama Parameswaran, Muralidhar Goud, Prince Cecil, Murali Sharma
Director: Mallik Ram
Produced By: SuryaDevara Naga Vamsi, Sai Soujanya
Release Date: March 29th, 2024

After creating a cultural impact a couple of years ago with DJ Tillu, Sidhu Jonnalagadda returns with Tillu Square, a sequel to the original, pairing with Anupama. With a few changes like the director and the Lead Actress, the core team returns to entertain us again. Getting into the details:

Story:

DJ Tillu, after successfully evading Radhika’s trap in the first part sets on his joyful journey as Event Manager under DJ Tillu Events. Following the prequel’s footsteps, Tillu falls again to a woman (Lily, played by Anupama) with hidden intentions. How Tillu gets himself out of the trap set by Lily forms the rest of the story.

Performances:

Sidhu Jonnalagadda kills it in his iconic DJ Tillu’s role similar to the first part or does even better in the sequel. The ease with which he uttered the one-liners throughout the film is remarkable. The graph seems to be only rising with each film of his.

Anupama gets a meaty role as a woman with ulterior motives and delivers it neatly.

Prince Cecil does an extension to his role from the first part and has limited space to perform.

Murali Sharma has done a typical Don role with not much weight.

Muralidhar Goud who plays the father does a tremendous job matching up to Sidhu Jonnalagadda in multiple scenes.

Positives:

  • Sidhu’s One-Liners
  • Background Score
  • Comedy

Negatives:

  • Songs
  • Superficial Action Scenes.
  • Redundant comic scenes

Analysis:

As mentioned above, DJ Tillu is an iconic character among the younger generation with the one-liners hitting it out of the park in the first part. The sequel does it even better. Though the story doesn’t hook the audience’s attention at times, Sidhu’s dialogues come to the rescue and lift the whole mood. The BGM is apt, especially in the first half where most of the comedy works out. The first 45 minutes were a rollercoaster ride with the one-liners working at almost 100 strike rate.

The movie suffers though, from the hangover of the first part in terms of songs and the trap setup. The action sequences are superficial, making it a little difficult for the watcher to realize that this film is just a light-hearted entertainer.

Editing was a little too crisp in the first half not allowing a few scenes to complete before switching to the next and suffering the other way around with a few scenes dragging out in the second half.

Except for the title song, reminiscent of the first part, Music as a whole with two songs is just passable.

Production values seem to be on the par level considering the budget involved.

Tillu Square Movie Verdict:

Tillu Square as a whole, succeeds in entertaining throughout the film, especially with the one-liners. Though the action sequences take a hit, Sidhu’s energetic performance and one-liners lift the movie completely giving you a hilarious ride. Go, watch it over the weekend with your friends.

Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran starrer Tillu Square is now in front of the audience. The film has faced several delays and cast and crew changes during its production phase. DJ Tillu, the first installment in this series was released in 2022 and went on to become a big hit. The makers are keen on repeating the success and are leaving no stone unturned in cashing in on the buzz.

Usually, matching the 1st part for any sequel is a hurricane task. But Tillu Square has reportedly delivered exactly that has lived up to the expectations of fans. The movie has opened with unanimous positive reviews from overseas premiers.

The one-liners, entertainment levels and Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s Tillu vibe, along with the songs have worked well and are a major plus to Tillu Square. The second part will definitely entertain you if you love the first part. The film is now opening with sensational numbers, and a huge blockbuster is expected.

The film is directed by Mallik Ram while Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas have backed the project. Anupama Parameswaran stars opposite Siddhu Jonnalagadda as the female lead. The lead pair’s intimacy in the teaser and first-look posters became the talk of the town. The team is confident in these scenes as well. Let’s see how the film would fare.
