NTR dives into Bollywood’s party lifestyle

NTR is currently busy with his Bollywood debut film, War 2. This film is a sequel to smashing blockbuster, War starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. War 2 stars both Hrithik and NTR sharing the screen in the lead roles. With this, NTR has dived into Bollywood’s party lifestyle.

In South film Industries, we don’t see party culture for every occasion. This happens only during a film’s success. But in Bollywood, this happens often and it is known for this party culture. Many actors and actresses attend the parties which will also promote themselves for their movie offers. Now with NTR making his Bollywood debut with War 2, he too has become a part of this culture. He was seen going to a party with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Hrithik Roshan along with his wife.

On the other hand, NTR is also busy with his Devara directed by Koratala Shiva. This film has been made on a large scale aimed for a Pan India release. Devara is slated for release this year on October 10th. War 2 will arrive on Independence Day next year. Apart from these, he will also start Devara’s second party and Prashant Neel’s film as well.

Producers losing crores on Medium-Budget heroes

A few years ago, medium-budget heroes were an extremely safe bet for producers thanks to their smaller remunerations and decent market. The movies starring these heroes were a great way to earn profits as they were made on a 20 Cr – 30 Cr budget and it was very low risk and high reward situation.

This scenario has changed after the OTT boom as the medium budget heroes have increased their remunerations to 20 Cr, 25 Cr, and even 30 Cr. This spike in hero remuneration has led to an increase in the budget as well with some movies touching 70 crore to a whopping 100 crores as well.

Sadly for the producers, this change has led to losses mainly as business is crashing. The theatrical business does not cover the hero’s remuneration for many films. The OTT market is declining and offering a very small or negligible margin for the producers. The satellite market crashed long back. With this producers have no chance to recover the budget ending up with crores of losses.

Normally, big-budget films will give big losses. Big hero films are somehow succeeding in getting good offers and breakeven but it’s medium budget hero films that are becoming a huge burden for producers

Pushpa 2: Racing against a tight deadline

Pushpa 2: The Rule starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna is the sequel to Pushpa: The Rise. The film became a blockbuster hit across the country. Its songs and mannerisms in particular scenes too became cult among the audiences. Pushpa 2 shooting has been taking place at a fast pace for many days. The film was already announced to be release on Independence Day this year. So, Pushpa 2 is racing against a tight deadline.

Around 30% of the shoot is still pending according to sources. Three units are working to complete the film by the deadline. The team has already started aggressive promotions on Allu Arjun’s birthday with a teaser. The Glimpse of the first lyrical song has already been released. The song is titled “Pushpa Pushpa“. This full lyrical song will release on 1st May.

Pushpa 2: The Rule already did a massive 1000 crore business. This included theatrical and non-theatrical rights. This has become a record in Indian Cinema. If all goes well, the film may open to earth-shattering numbers and likewise perform stunningly at the box office. Allu Arjun would become the only hero after Prabhas from Tollywood to score a 500-crore grosser without Rajamouli then.

Tollywood Actor Posani Krishna Murali also happens to be a member of YSR Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh. He is also the FDC chairman for the state. The Actor is very well known for his comic and villain roles as well. Posani spoke to NTV about the upcoming elections of the state. While speaking, Posani Krishna Murali made some serious comments on Pawan Kalyan’s commitment.

Posani also revealed a spat he had with Pawan Kalyan during Sardaar Gabbar Singh. He played a role in Pawan Kalyan’s starrer. The Actor said that Pawan Kalyan didn’t attend the shoot for one scene on time making Posani leave the set due to the delay. This made Pawan Kalyan angry and he called Posani to enquire. While speaking on the phone, Posani fired on Pawan Kalyan for not coming to the set on time. Then onwards, Posani was sidelined from the film.

However, this makes one wonder if Pawan Kalyan was careless about his films. Pawan Kalyan happens to be the producer of Sardaar Gabbar Singh as well. Politics is definitely killing Pawan Kalyan’s time and attitude. He wants to balance both but it is quite impossible. He has had no proper hit for the last 10 years shockingly. His previous hit was Attarintiki Daredi. Becoming busy in politics completely made him do quickie films which are not yielding great results at the box office. For him to score a proper hit, he needs to allot time for a particular film which is not happening because of politics.

‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s has taken the state of Tamil Nadu by storm. But this time, it’s not with the latest film but with a re-release of the twenty-year-old sports action drama Ghilli. Regarded as a cult classic, it had a grand re-release on April 20, 2024.

Following excellent sales in advance bookings, it minted a worldwide gross of INR 8 crore, an all-time record for any re-release in India. Unlike other releases of this type, it performed well on the second and third days as well, accumulating a total gross of INR 20 crore, a record once again.

The most surprising part is that it has been performing well even on weekdays—so much so that it has outperformed Vishal’s latest release, Ratnam (2024), in terms of footfalls. Ghilli’s final worldwide gross is estimated to be around INR 25 crore, an unbelievable feat for any re-release in the country.
