SJ Suryah talks about Spyder

SJ Suryah is a director turned actor in Kollywood. He is also known for directing classic films, Kushi and Vaalee once. However, he stopped direction and became a full time actor now. The Actor has attracted many fans even in Telugu states for his performances in several Tamil films. SJ Suryah recently talked about his upcoming film, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram and Spyder as well.

SJ Suryah said that he felt bad about the result of Spyder as it didn’t match the standards of Mahesh Babu. He also said that his character in the film however enjoys fanism among people who still make memes out of it for many events. He also talked about his Police character from Maanaadu which became quite famous. The Actor stated that there were many Telugu fans for this role as well. Suryah is also playing the antagonist role in Game Changer starring Ram Charan.

SJ Suryah recently revealed the story of Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, his upcoming Telugu film starring Nani in the lead role. The film’s songs and teaser were also released recently where SJ Suryah was seen playing a Police Officer role. Directed by Vivek Athreya, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is scheduled for release on 29th August this month.

Indian 2 on Netflix: Huge trolls

Indian 2, the latest film of Director Shankar and Actor Kamal Haasan is streaming now on Netflix. The film became a box office bomb and attracted huge level of trolling on Director Shankar for his mis-management in handling the sequel of classic Indian/Bharatayeeudu. Now, even after the OTT release on Netflix, Indian 2 is getting huge trolls on social media platforms.

The film was able to gross ony 150 crores against a theatrical business of around 180 crores. This is less than 1/4th of the collections grossed by Shankar’s previous film, 2.0. Indian 2 was not handled properly by Director Shankar with his outdated screenplay and scenes. The plan of making it into two parts too had cost the film badly. The film hoped to get a relief from the OTT release. But it looks the result is same once more.

Indian 2 has been getting trolled badly for almost every scene. Many are uploading the videos and scenes and mocking Shankar for including them in the film. Many scenes in the film where Kamal Haasan performs were getting trolled brutally. This is truly a shocking response in the OTT segment as well. We have to see how the team responds to this criticism even on OTT.

Unseen Poster Upsets Mahesh Fans

Guntur Kaaram was released amidst very high expectations from Mahesh fans as it was a combination of Trivikram and Mahesh Babu. The film, however, could not manage to reach the sky-high expectations it created. It performed decently at the box office due to the combination and Sankranti but the fans were left asking for more.

The action entertainer saw several hurdles at the shooting times with continuous postponements, creative differences, and script changes. Many changes happened in the shooting stages and several portions were removed by the makers

On the occasion of Superstar Mahesh Babu’s birthday, Haarika and Haasine Creations wished him with a special poster. This poster has irked Mahesh fans even more. Mahesh can be seen in a massy avatar, intense expression with weapons in hand. This appears to be a still from an action episode. The fans’ response to this has been quite rough with fans lashing out at the production house for releasing this still so late and not during the movie promotions.

Meyer composed this film, which stars Jagapathi Babu as the antagonist. Raviteja, who is in desperate need of a hit, has big expectations for his Mr. Bachchan.

The film depicts a confrontation between a sincere income tax officer and the most powerful corrupt figure in society. The crew is really confident, so the premiere will be screened on the 14th night on all stations. NTR and Prashant Neel’s film started officially

NTR and Prashant Neel’s much awaited has started officially today. The team met and did pooja in an official ceremony where NTR was spotted with his Devara look. Kalyan Ram, NTR’s brother was also present in the ceremony along with the team. The film is tentatively titled NTRNeel.

Prashant Neel and NTR announced their film long ago with a poster of NTR in a rugged look. Prashant Neel as we all know is the director of the blockbuster KGF Series and Salaar. Fans and Audience have been expecting him to start his film with NTR for a long time. And today the day has come finally. Mythri Movie Makers will be producing the film along with NTR Arts, the home banner of NTR. The female lead actress of the film is not yet announced.

NTRNeel film is slated for release on 9th January 2026 as a Sankranthi bonanza for the fans and audience. NTR will also be busy completing Devara and War in this meantime. Devara has already been schedule for release on 27th September this year. War 2 will release next year. So, it’s good planning by NTR who has no solo release after RRR which release in 2021.

Tollywood Actor Pawan Kalyan also serves as the Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh currently. Tollywood fraternity is quite happy about this as they expect the Actor to favour them in many ways. Recently, Kalki 2898 AD too got benefitted with the price hike for ticket prices in AP. Following this, the team of Mr. Bachchan expected a favour from Pawan Kalyan for which he said a strict NO.

Mr. Bachchan is scheduled for release this August 15th. The Director of the film, Harish Shankar is very close to the Actor and he is even directing him for Ustaad Bhagat Singh. Ravi Teja is also very much close to the Mega Family as well. It is learned that they invited Pawan Kalyan to attend the pre-release event of Mr. Bachchan for which he said No. Mr. Bachchan’s hype would have gone skyhigh with this but the Actor disappointed the team badly.

The pre-release event of Mr. Bachchan is being planned on August 12th in Hyderabad. The film is an official remake of Bollywood hit film, Raid starring Ajay Devgan. Mr. Bachchan is also facing a big competition with another film, Double Ismart which is also slated for release on August 15th.

Committee Kurrollu movie review : A earnest attempt by newcomers

Committee Kurrollu starring all newcomers and directed by debutant Yadhu Vamsi is this week’s new release. The film follows the lives of youngsters in a small village in West Godavari district. Committee Kurrollu tells the tale of these youngsters and the turmoil they face amidst shifting political landscape and social issues.

Story:

A close-knit group of friends—Shiva (Sandeep Saroj), Surya (Yaswanth Pendyala), Subbu (Thrinadh Varma), William (Eshwar Rachiraju), Peddodu (Prasad Behara), and others are a closely knit group of friends living in Purushothapalli, West Godavari. An unexpected argument and some situations around them lead to a rift between them and impact the whole village. What sparked the clash among the friends that turned them bitter foes? Will they ever reconcile is what the movie follows.

Performances:

Sandeep Saroj, Thrinadh Varma, Yashwanth Pendyala, and Prasad Behara have a good screentime. Among all the fresh faces, they make the maximum impact. The biggest challenge when making a movie with so many newcomers is ensuring the audience connects to their issues and challenges while rejoicing in their victories. Director Yadu Vamsi has done a commendable job at ensuring the audience gets involved with the characters well. Sai Kumar and Goparaju Ramana being the only senior actors in the cast are dependable as ever.

Analysis:

Committee Kurrollu sheds light on issues that are relevant to all of us. The poison of discrimination and segregation is deeply rooted in our society and the film does a decent job of highlighting these issues through the friends turned foes concept. The writing, however, is the biggest issue, as several unnecessary scenes and speeches from people just prolong the conclusion. The film establishes the characters and showcases childhood nostalgia quite well. However, the second half feels a bit preachy and the dialogues and situations seem quite inorganic. Multiple subplots involving a dozen characters leave little scope for development and proper exploration.

  • Too many subplots feel distracting

Verdict:

Committee Kurrollu is a great first attempt from the young team. Kudos to the makers for taking a serious issue for their new venture. The rawness of the cast is an advantage at times while works against the film as well. Overall Committee Kurrollu is a great watch especially if you’re someone who likes fresh cinema.

Mahesh Babu Reigns in Rereleases

The trend of re-releasing films has gained popularity in Tollywood. Movies that were once blockbusters are returning to theaters, providing spectators with a nostalgic experience with upgraded 4K technology. Star Heroes’ films are frequently re-released on birthdays, transporting fans back in time. This tendency, which is peculiar to Tollywood in India, has proven to be a profitable financial decision.

The re-release trend in Tollywood may be traced back to the film “Pokiri,” starring Mahesh Babu and directed by Puri Jagannath. The film was first released in 2006 and was a huge success. The re-release of “Pokiri” on Mahesh’s birthday in 2022 resulted in excellent collections, with the proceeds going to humanitarian organizations.

The trend continues with the re-release of Businessman in August 2023 and Murari in 2024 on Mahesh’s birthday. Pokiri and Businessman set records, and now Murari is doing the same. The tradition is expected to continue for each Mahesh Babu’s birthday.
